We had only planned on staying one night at this B&B, but after talking to the owner and driving through the Amana Colonies on Sunday afternoon, we decided to spend an additional night. The room was clean, decorated nicely and everything worked. Breakfast was served in an large room with the owners serving. It was a very nice place to...

Thank you for writing such a nice review. It was nice to have you here the extra day - you are right, you need at least a couple of days to experience the 7 villages of the Amana Colonies. I'm glad you enjoyed your experience here. We welcome you back anytime.

Our stay at Die Heimat was quiet and relaxing and just what we needed coming from a busy area near Chicago. The room we chose was large and comfortable and very clean. Our hosts, June and Marc were so warm and welcoming and made us feel at home. June made a wonderful full breakfast every morning and both she and...

You'll be happy to know that re-doing the back/main entrance is on our list. Come back again when we have a more accessible entrance. :) Glad you enjoyed the old world charm of...

Wonderful bed & breakfast converted from an old inn. The June & Marc made us feel very welcome, like guests in their home. Our room was on the main floor and was spacious with two queen beds, two overstuffed chairs with a table between and a nice bathroom. Good pillows. Breakfast both days was delightful with homemade pastry. Egg dishes...

We booked two rooms for our grandson, my husband and myself for one night. The Die Heimat Country Inn is a charming, well kept Inn run my two lovely people. June and Marc immediately made us feel right at home. The rooms were so nicely decorated and clean. The beds were comfortable and the room was very quite. Our breakfast...

I traveled with a group and we stayed for two night. This is a charming botique B&B. Each room was different. Mine was small with a double bed, sink and separate room for shower and toilet. It was very clean and comfortable. Although it was located on the street it was quiet. We gad complimentary wifi. The view out any...

We appreciate you taking the time to write a very nice review of Die Heimat Country Inn. But I'm confused; with all the positive things you had to say about your stay, why the 1 star rating, which makes this sound like a terrible place? I can only assume you thought the 1 star was the best rating. We enjoyed...

When viewing the rooms on the website, if the bed appears to be really close to the wall/window it probably is. We stayed in Room 14. The bed is right next to the window. Really not enough room to get out of the bed on that side. I am a slender person and it was difficult for me. My hubby...

You are right, some of our rooms are very "cozy" and we try to make that clear when people reserve and by the pictures online. Thank you for your tip to other travelers and we hope you will come back again - and try one of our many larger rooms. :) Glad you enjoyed the breakfast.

Very warm and welcoming, true to the name "home place". Thank you! We found that the location worked very well. We arrived late afternoon and began our tour of the Six outlying Colonies after breakfast the next day, ending up in Amana.

Thank you for the nice rating and review. It is our hope that guests will feel at home here and experience the gemutlichkeit (warm, open, friendly welcome) of the Amana Colonies. Yes, we are close to all the villages and there is something to see and enjoy in each of the 7 colonies. Welcome back!

Our group of 17 enjoyed our first outing to Die Heimat Country Inn. The rooms were pleasant and nicely decorated and the breakfast on Sunday morning was amazing. The hosts, Marc and June, suggested visiting the Middle Amana Church Service which was so interesting. We used the building Next Door for our evening activities and were very pleased with the...

My wife and I went here for our 1st Anniversary and it was better than we had expected. The blankets and pillows were not normal, cheap hotel stuff, but an actual quilt and feather down pillows! Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a nice review. We enjoyed hosting you for this special occasion and are happy that you had a wonderful experience. Loved the B&B. Very clean, spacious rooms, breakfast was delicious each morning. A very quite and quaint town right outside Iowa City. Very close to the Amana Colonies which are little German communities. Great food and little shooed of handmade things, antique shops etc. But the best part were the proprietors Mark and June. They were both so nice and...
