I guess there is a limit to how much money can go into a restoration such as this but the painting in the rooms could be better. Also if louver blinds are used they need to be dusted. Even the window sill is covered in dust. Otherwise lobby and furniture is excellent. Bed comfortable and bathroom spotless. Wish I could...

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay in July and we do apologize for the dust. Our staff does make every effort to remove the dust but with our current construction, it is nearly impossible to totally eliminate it. We plan to have our elevator installed and all construction completed by the end of December so we hope...

We have family in the area and stay here during the holidays. Comfortable rooms, beautiful decor, friendly staff, and located right on the historical Main Street on amongst dining, shopping, and the beautiful Community Theatre.

Hi Amber: A delayed "thank you" for your great review in June. We were just beginning the work on the installation of our elevator so I hope you weren't inconvenienced by the dust. We are so glad that we are your hotel of choice when you are visiting family and hope to see you again soon. Dan and Kathy Tindall,...

We loved staying at this hotel. It was conveniently located downtown on Main Street so we could walk to all the restaurants and shops! The decor is a collection of carefully curated antiques. The staff are friendly and helpful. Make sure to try The Stuffed Olive bar next door for a great martini!

When we first stepped inside the Blackhawk Hotel, we were expecting clawfoot bathtubs and swayback mattresses. But along with the beautiful, classic decor, we were as comfortable as at any similarly-priced hotel/motel we might have stayed at. The Blackhawk Hotel is a charming piece of Cedar Falls history and we very much enjoyed our stay. The remodels that have been...

Spent a weekend in Cedar Falls and stayed in #319 at the Blackhawk. Hotel was lovely, well maintained and steeped in history. The woodwork was gorgeous. Staff very friendly and helpful, even going to the point of letting us know that a bachelorette party was taking place in the room next door and if we had any problems (we didn't),...

Stayed here for a wedding with my husband July of 2014 - had a small room on the first floor, the place was very charming and the staff was great! All within walking distance of shops, restaurants, pubs downtown. The martini bar attached was excellent too! We'd stay again!

Extremely relaxing, historic setting. Wonderful decor and amenities. Superb location in downtown Cedar Falls. Many great bars and restaurants within walking distance and the University of Northern Iowa is just 3 miles away. Highly recommended.

I'm from Seattle and was back in Cedar Falls visiting some family. We had heard about the Blackhawk Hotel from some friends in town. It did not disappoint! Our rooms were very comfortable, elegant and quiet! The staff was attentive and helpful. We wish we could find a hotel of this quality everywhere we travel! Cedar Falls is lucky to...

At the last minute we decided to stay at the Black Hawk Hotel the night of Halloween. We've been to the Black Hawk before and enjoyed the stay and the atmosphere of the hotel and it's location in downtown Cedar Falls!

I stayed at the hotel very last-minute as I was passing through town. The staff was very accommodating considering I walked in without a reservation. I stayed in a "standard" room which I was not aware was located in the former motor lodge directly behind the main Blackhawk Hotel building until after my reservation was complete. The room was nice...
