We stayed three nights at the Philip W. Smith B&B for our anniversary in room #5. The room was quite comfortable. The shower had the most water pressure I've ever experienced - very nice. The breakfast was good. I liked that the host would tidy up and make the bed if you wanted - or leave your room alone if...

My husband and I stayed in this charming B&B when we were visiting Richmond to research my family genealogy. The house is ideally located, across the street from the city's gorgeous park, and the proprietors were very gracious and hospitable. The house itself is lovely, and the history of the original owner is quite interesting. The gorgeous woodwork, stunning stained...

Excellent accommodations with an accommodating proprietor. Called her at 12:30 am and asked if I could bring back my sister's family so they would not have to drive through the night. Jill was most kind even though we had gotten her up. When we arrived back from party there was another room set up with rollaway bed for sisters college...

There were 3 of us and we fit into room #5 easily because there was a small room on the other side of the bathroom hall in our room that had a twin bed. The king bed was very comfy in the main bedroom. Cookies were provided in the evening and they were delicious. The wood work in the house...

Visited Richmond for the first time and stayed at our first B&B. The Philip W. Smith home is a sheer delight and has been lovingly restored to make anyone's stay most enjoyable. From the quietness of the home (full capacity at the time), beautiful rooms, delicious breakfasts and outstanding hostess, you can not go wrong by staying at this beautiful...

We were in the middle of the pack of families moving their children into dormitories at Miami University. We didn't "beat" the crowd and couldn't get a reservation at one of the national mid-range hotels in the area. Lucky us. We found this beautiful property at the last minute and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The premises is beautiful and the...

I splurged on this night and what a glorious change from the more typical "one night on the road" hotels. Every detail of this property has been attended to with love and caring and the extra care is noticeable. A casual dessert was served in the evening and a bountiful breakfast was flawlessly presented in the beautiful dining room in...

Stayed 1 Sunday night en route. No problem arranging for late arrival. Could not believe the beautiful architectural details, (woodwork, mirrors, windows etc.) and interesting antiques. A step back in time but with good wifi, good water pressure, shared mini fridge in the hall, yummy Quiche breakfast. (Again no problem having it prepared earlier than regular schedule.) We stayed in...

We had the master bedroom which features a four-poster bed and reading corner as part of the turret. The property is well-maintained, and the rooms are nicely decorated and furnished with antiques. We enjoyed the stained glass window in the bedroom and staircase. This B&B and the Martha E. Parry are located about two blocks apart on busy Main Street....

Beautiful building and rooms, good breakfast, across from scenic park, very accommodating hosts. Just loved being in Parry House and it was quite comfortable. Only issue - which couldn't be helped - was traffic noise at night, especially in smaller downstairs room in Parry. The owners let me move; it's a bit better upstairs. Overall a good experience.
