Largely on the strength of this article in the NY Times, http://travel.nytimes.com/2006/02/05/travel/05guadeloupe.html , my husband and I recently selected Tainos Cottages for our visit to Guadeloupe and we were thrilled with the choice. If you are looking for many dining options, beach activities and crowds found in large resorts, this is not your place. Tainos Cottages is a relatively quiet...

We just spent a wonderful three days and two nights at Taino's. What a spectacular property with a small number of great cottages!. With beautiful views of Grande Anse beach that's only a 10 second walk away, you can't beat the location. The grounds are beautiful and there are great sunsets from the pool area. Check out the cool orange...

My husband, our two kids (2.5 years old and 10 months) and I just spent 6 nights at Tainos Cottage. It was an absolutely wonderful experience! The cottages, individual indonesian houses in old teak are gorgious, very spacious and beautifully furnished. Ours, like several others (there's only 7 on the 'resort') had a bathtub which was half outside, yet offered...

Tainos' appeal is simply that it's owners aren't trying to be hoteliers. They have 7 teak cottages **almost** on the beach. If you are looking for a resort experience, a super clean villa rental experience, or to be pampered for the arguably - "I should be pampered more fee" - they charge, you ain't gonna get it. But whenever you...

We came here for our honeymoon and were really pleased with both our stay at the Tainos Cottages and Guadeloupe. The service that we received from the Father/Son duo was always friendly, nonintrusive, and spot on. Everyday, you receive a lovely breakfast by the pool which overlooks the Ocean. The beach was gorgoeous, quiet, tranquil, and nice for swimming. We...

We were part of a group of six occupying three of Tainos Cottage’s six units for two nights. We thoroughly enjoyed the facility and would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in a unique, small hotel. The cottages are all lovely, beautifully furnished and very distinctive. They were built in Indonesia, taken apart and reassembled on site. The...

We stayed at the Tainos for a week in June, having chosen it after reading the NYT article and seen rave reviews of it in various other publications. The previous review is generally accurate -- the Tainos is located on a spectacular site by the lovely Grande Anse beach, and is made up of beautifully designed bungalows set into a...

We have just got back from a sailing holiday in Guadeloupe. Before we boarded the yacht we stayed for four nights at Tainos Village Hotel which is in a beautiful location right at the end of Grande Anse beach, Deshaies, in its own tropical gardens from which you could step right onto the beach (which is gorgous, unspoilt and not...
