Room was very clean, spacious, and full-featured. Breakfast was excellent. Service was excellent. The one problem: it is over-the-top with its country style decor. I suppose if you like that sort of thing you'll be in heaven, but it doesn't work for me.

Based on some of the other reviews here I would say my experience came in a bit below expectations. We were close to an elevator (which can happen anywhere of course), but that turned out not to be a big deal because this place is a ghost town by 9:30PM with a more senior crowd. Walking into the room, we...

When I called about an Amish Tour a lady mentioned the Essenhaus to me, I'm so glad that she did. The rooms are beautiful, the staff is exemplary, the food is OUT OF THIS WORLD, and the grounds will be even lovelier once spring really arrives. We couldn't have ask for anything more. My only problem was that the food...

Just returned from an absolutely wonderful overnight stay at the inn. The atmosphere is so welcoming, accommodations are spotless and comfortable. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I loved the coffee and cookies available in public gathering areas. Breakfast buffet included with the room was delicious and arranged in a comfortable cozy eating area. This inn sets the bar...

This was a wonderful hotel for our winter getaway. In the heart of Amish country, Essenhaus combines lovely rooms and traditional meals for a truly restful experience. There are nice shops to explore, and the baked goods are delicious. The standards are very high -- our room was immaculate. The rate was amazing for a room (with breakfast) of this...

My family from out of town always stay here when they visit. It started as a quaint little inn and now has increased in size to accommodate family vacations. There is a small pool for the kids to "get wet" in, but to me the beauty of the rooms and the huge grounds to walk around or play in make...

The one bedroom suite is perfect for us and very reasonable. The atmosphere is so welcoming and also very relaxing. But it still has all the modern amenities one would expect. The rooms are so spacious and beautifully decorated in a country style. There were coffee and cookies available for snacking. The kitchenette is so convenient for fixing up a...

My wife and I stayed at the Essenhaus Inn on December 30th. This is our 3rd time staying at the Essenhaus over the last few years. Each time we stay there we are amazed by the cleanliness, the friendliness, and the quaint decor of this motel/Inn. Of all the motels we have stayed in throughout the upper Midwest, this is...

My husband and I stayed one night to celebrate our anniversary. What a quaint place to relax and enjoy Amish country. Our room was very nice-We booked a balcony king room as that was all that was available although we had heard that the atrium rooms were also very nice. Cookies are available for your snacking. Breakfast was wonderful and...
