I won't be staying anywhere else in Madison besides Fairfield Inn. Every employee went above and beyond - from answering questions to recommendations in the area to cleaning up during downtime and helping us with grub grabber app! We loved every aspect of the room, the view and the atmosphere. Madison is so lucky that Marriott came and restored such a beautiful building that sat vacant for years and kept the character and history.
We came to Madison specifically to stay in this hotel and we're sure glad we did! It is just beautiful on the inside and out. Every employee that we came into contact with was friendly and helpful. The room was perfect and had a great view of the Ohio River and the bridge going over to Milton, Kentucky. Coffee was available all day in the lobby. There was a nice selection of breakfast items and the attendant kept everything well stocked. It was an easy walk down the driveway and across the street to the river and there were benches to sit on as well as a path to walk along the river. It was a short walk, maybe 10 minutes of so, to town. We really enjoyed our stay at this wonderful hotel and are hoping to come back again soon. .
My husband and myself visit Madison once a year and we have stayed in other hotels, as well as Airbnb, this hotel was the best place to stay in Madison. We had seen this building on prior visits when it was empty. Marriott did an excellent job on the renovations you can see the original bricks and beams throughout the hotel. The rooms have 9 foot windows and a great view of the river. The breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold foods. The lobby has a bar and fireplace with seating a nice place to hang out and relax. Overall we had no complaints from this hotel all staff we interacted with were friendly and knowledgeable about the area and the hotel. Download the Bonvoy Marriott app you can use it to check in as a key and order things for you room. We needed a extra blanket and I used the app and the blanket came in about 10 mins. We would stay here again. Make sure to pick up the brochure at the counter with the history of the building it is very interesting. I will say the hotel is at the far end of town, but still walkable we however used the public parking in town center.…
This place is very clean and modern. Interesting architecture, especially when you realize what it was just a few years ago. Staff nice. Great view of river. Sits on hill and just down it is a street and sidewalk that runs the river. Lots of benches. Safe. Quiet. Easily within walking distance to shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.
The Fairfield is the Best - an old building with high ceilings and large windows - stay on the fourth floor if you love to hear the rain on the metal roof! The staff has always been very friendly and the hotel is very clean! The breakfast in the morning is hot and well maintained! We always visit the hotel bar to see old friends and meet new ones - they even have light menu available! The hotel is located on the Ohio River - great for walks and sitting on the many benches!
We visited Madison for a quick family get-away and the primary reason was to experience this new hotel located right on the Ohio River. It did not disappoint! The rooms are clean, comfortable, and modern. You might think Fairfield Inn as a roadside brand when headed from point A to B that requires an overnight night stay… well no longer! Fairfield is coming out bright and bold featuring properties that bring in the local flair. Eagle Cotton Mill was a destination! Explore the region from history, art, eclectic shoppes, breweries and wineries, and nature. Can’t wait to come back!
Can't say enough good things about this place. I absolutely loved it! They've taken a historic building in this quaint little town and done a phenomenal job at restoring it, keeping many of the gorgeous architecture, yet masterfully blending them with modern conveniences and amenities. Massive wooden beams in the ceilings and rough cut lumber in the ceilings have been kept and painted white, along with brick walls in the guest rooms. Enormous 9 foot tall windows open up a stunning view for you of the Ohio River right outside, the beautiful bridge, the barges and boats traveling the river, and the well manicured courtyard out front. Plenty of comfy places to sit both inside and out with a drink from the on site bar, and relax. Curl up with your favorite book in front of the modern fireplace, or in the large chair in your guest room. A nice breakfast is included, plus a fitness center and small snack shop. Parking is good, and all of this is only a couple of blocks off the main street in town that's brimming with tons of cute shops and restaurants. Perfect place to get away for a few days.…
I love it when someone see the possibilities in an old industrial building! The Eagle Cotton Mill was built in 1884! It was abandoned and falling apart! Saved and turned into a beautiful hotel! It retains much of the original wood beams in the lobby and corridor ceilings! We never came in or went out that the staff did not have a hello and a smile. Our room was spotlessly clean, spacious and very comfortable. Not to mention the large bath with a walk in shower! Our room overlooked the Ohio River. We will definitely stay here anytime we are in the area!
Stayed here 2 nights while attending a family reunion at the state park. The hotel was very clean and very stylish - could easily fit in a big city. The rooms were large and bathrooms well designed. Beds were acceptably comfortable though not the super comfortable pillow top you might get at a higher end hotel. Location is very nice looking out on Ohio river. There is a lot of outdoor seating with tables where you can bring your own food in the evening. Pleasant path for an evening stroll. We did not receive housekeeping service which was disappointing and apparently due to staffing shortage. There is a complimentary breakfast which featured some hot options. Overall this is a really nice hotel that was a bit of a pleasant surprise in such a small town
The Marriot Inn in Madison, IN is a beautifully restored building whose former life was that of a Cotton Mill in the early 1900's and then a factory until 1985. It laid vacant for 35 years and opened in 2021. We stay in a studio room which had 2 queen beds, and another room with a sitting area and long desk. Both areas had a T.V. Spacious room with very high ceilings. Not great for children expecting a swimming pool because there isn't one. The River Walk in just a step away. Hotel is not within walking distance to the shops or restaurants. We would stay here again!
