Located near attractions like Lucas Oil Field and Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the Omni Severin Hotel is lauded for its prime location amidst a lively bar and restaurant scene. While some guests commend the hotel's cleanliness and the spaciousness of certain rooms, others feel that the rooms could benefit from updates and repairs.
The value proposition of the hotel is a point of contention, with complaints about unexpected charges and lack of services. Although the atmosphere and amenities have received mixed reviews, the staff is often celebrated for their professionalism and friendliness.

Detailed Reviews
From what Hilton has spent the past 18 month doing to their properties which is namely taking everything not nailed down out of the room in the name of the cooties. It may sound silly but it was beyond nice to walk into the room & find both pen and paper on the desk as well as laundry/shoe bags, extra blankets and pillows in the closet where they belong. When I booked the rooms for myself & 5 colleagues we didn’t know that it was Bands of America Grand Nationals those same days but having said that, other than the one night when the kids were performing, we didn’t know they were there. Another nice surprise on arrival was finding out the hotel had restarted breakfast service including the hot buffet & cooked to order eggs by Mike-our client had breakfast for us so we were only able to enjoy it on our last day. Dinner service is in the bar which has very limited seating, so we did take out from it 1 night which was very good. Bathroom was very small & not much in the way of counter space, but bed was comfy, there’s a mini-fridge which was stocked w/waters when we got there (see Hilton, it CAN be done!). I somehow ended up w/a suite which actually worked out well & allowed us to debrief as a group in a quiet location after a GREAT dinner @ Harry & Izzy’s across the street. Like others have noted, only valet parking currently & while a bit pricey, valet staff were very prompt. Front desk staff were great & housekeepers came each day. Would definately go back.

I stayed at the Omni severin in the summer of 2020, for a business trip with a few colleagues and my husband. The hotel location is great, its next to the convention center, and Lucas Oil is a block away. However, the few rooms that were rented pretty dirty. I had a few issues with check in and getting into my room as the batteries were dead to my door. The room air conditioner was not blowing sufficient air. Two man named Shaquille and Todd, came up to my room and were so polite. Tood changed my door batteroes and he expressed true professionalism by giving me eye Contact and no excuses. I admire that.
Shaquille fixed my hvac and made sure my thermostat was working within a few minutes. I love the speed of these two gentlemen. They offered me and my husband incentives to stay.
The engineers heard my concern about about the room being dirty, they contacted housekeeping and got me and my husband new sheets and new towels.
The food was pretty good and a bit expensive. We stayed for 3 nights, but we really enjoyed the rest of our trip.
Overall, we understand mistakes happen but the team at the Severin, really took action. Thank you!!
We will be traveling here again.

We booked the Omniseverin in downtown Indianapolis as a convenient place to stay for the Indy 500.
The hotel is about a 20 minute taxi ride from the airport, traffic permitting.
The hotel looks impressive from the outside , a classic, imposing standalone building. The communal areas harked back to days gone by with the classic decor and large chandeliers. The location is excellent, right in the heart of downtown Indy. Restaurants, bars and shopping all close by.
Check in was easy and the team on the desk and the door were helpful and friendly. Throughout our stay they provided us with bottles of water and guidance.
Our room was fairly dated with discoloured curtains and torn wallpaper, however everything functioned and the bed was comfy. TV, iron, safe were all good. The room was cleaned daily.
I only ate breakfast once at the hotel, which was from a standard buffet arrangement, nothing too special. Bar service in the evening was painfully slow and not overly friendly. Walk over the road to Kilroys bar, the service and food are excellent there.
On race day we pre booked an Uber for 6:00AM which got us to the track by 6:30. Traffic was already building, so we were glad not to have left any later.
On our return to the hotel, due to road closures, we couldn’t get either a Taxi or Uber back for two hours. If using this method of transport, stay at the track for at least two hours post race, or grab a meal in the town of Speedway, you won’t go very far straight after the race. We eventually made it back to the hotel by 7:30PM.
Overall the hotel is in a great location and has some great colleagues on the door and at the desk. Rooms need updating and service in the bar / restaurant could be better.

If I could give them a zero I would. Housekeeping entered our room before checkout and threw out 5 dozen macaron cookies ($135 value) that we were keeping in the refrigerator until checkout at 12:00. When I entered our room at 11:30, the room was stripped and the cookies were gone. I spoke to Justin, a junior manager, and he basically told us he could not help us and in a very unprofessional manner. We had a privacy sign on our door the whole stay and housekeeping entered our room anyway. This is against policy but Justin still refused to replace the cookies.

We stayed here for a wedding in December 2019, and my wife had a rent the runway dress that she asked the front desk if they could give to UPS for pickup the following morning, as we've done at many hotels.
They assured us it would be no problem and we returned back home to Wisconsin. Two months later we had $2000 in fines and were told that the dress was not returned until two months after the due date. After countless hours on the phone with UPS and the hotel we found the package was completely unaccounted for until February 8th, 2 months after we dropped it off. Despite the hotel having no shipping log or record of the package they will not accept any responsibility for the late fines. It's completely unacceptable that they accept packages if they are unwilling to accept responsibility. Furthermore the hotel rarely, if ever, called us back when they said they would and it required constant emails and calls from our standpoint to even get an answer.
Terrible customer service and communication. Would not recommend staying here.

Response from Rachel Blanchette, Guest Services / Front Office at Omni Severin Hotel
Responded 8 Jul 2020
Hello sir, We are terribly sorry about the confusion regarding this shipping concern. We certainly were willing to assist to the best of our ability and I personally made myself available to assist your wife with this matter. I never heard back after our most recent communication at the beginning of April when I was asked to be looped into a call with UPS to assist with getting this figured out. I reached out to let her know that I had not received the anticipated call from UPS. Your wife communicated to me that this was an issue on her end, and that no one from UPS had contacted her. I understand that this must have been very frustrating for all parties involved, but I assure you that the Omni made every effort to not only be helpful, but also to be transparent and help with this problem. I would like to respectfully ask that you reconsider your review, as we genuinely do care and wanted to be helpful with resolving this concern. This was impossible without UPS's participation. We truly value your patronage and hope that the visit in December was a great one; I'm so sorry if it has been tarnished by this shipping issue.

Came to Indy for Jam Fest Nationals. We checked in Friday January 20th. before 4:00 check in . Front Desk was pleasant, Room was ready. Room very out dated. Big rip in carpet. But very roomy. Bathroom needs updated as well. Bathroom water ran hot in both hot and cold taps shower and sink. Called Maintenance he came up and Turned Shower and Sink on let it run. Good to go. So we had to do that 3 other time during our visit.
1913 Breakfast buffet was very good. Had Omelette Bar and it was best omelette i’ve had. Wish i would have gotten chefs name he was very personable.
Severn bar was very nice and bartender Ethena Not sure if i’m spelling her name right. She was amazing!!
Valet is a little pricey ,but what you expect forDowntown Indy. Very close to about everything.

My husband and I decided to do a last minute weekend trip to Indianapolis. On the way, I googled Indianapolis hotels and Omni was the first to pop up. I was immediately sold on the beautiful pics of the hotel and the location so i booked it. Upon arrival the valet wasted no time geeeting us and getting our car unloaded and setting us up with a bellboy. Our bellboy took us to the front desk where we were greeted with several smiles from the friendly staff. We asked about certain places we wanted to see and out bellboy gave us very precise directions and even told us of all the best places to eat, sing karaoke, etc. Our room was spotless and smelled fresh. It was completely stocked with everything we needed and the view from our room was awesome. We were on the 11th floor and had an unbelievable ciew of Lucas Oil Stadium. One of our favorite things about the hotel was the skywalk that connected us to the mall and the restaurants. The restaurant was excellent and the bar was amazing, we met some great people there and loved the fact that there was a pool table in the bar. We took advantage of the swimming pool and the fitness center. Our weekend. Fast forward to arriving home, I start unpacking our bags and realized that we had mistakenly left our son's blanket behind. This blanket meant the world to me because our son passed away. I immediately started panicking and crying my eyes out, I was convinced it was gone for forever. I called The Omni and spoke to the most wonderful human being in the world, Justin took my call and immediately started trying to track down the blanket and thank God the blanket was found and Justin went above and beyond to get it back to me in a timely manner, 3 days after getting home, i was holding my baby's blanket and crying tears of joy. Thank you so much to Justin and the rest of the Omni staff for an enjoyable experience. We look forward to returning to Indianapolis and staying at the Omni if I could give them more than 5 stars, I would.

I admit I did not want to stay at a hotel chosen for me by a large conference I attended last week. From the time I called to confirm the assignment and paid my balance at checkout, hotel staff provided excellent service. My mother arrived first and thought the room was dark even with lights on. She was assigned a room with excellent lighting. The breakfast buffet in 1913 restaurant was fresh with lots of choices, including made to order omelets. A repair was requested via text message and completed quickly. One day we opted out of cleaning, but the housekeeper provided clean towels which were essential for multiple changes of clothes each day. We ate at the bar one evening to avoid crowds, and that service was fantastic too. I'd stay at this property again, although I hadn't stayed at an Omni since 1991.

We decided last minute to stay in Indy. Will not stay here again. We were charged way more then reservation stated, told that the bar and room service open until midnight but at 11:00 room service stated kitchen was closed, stood at the bar for 30 min and no bartender came and there was others at a table drinking, we had questions and no one really answered them so we tried someone different and all 4 employees had different answers and basically the question was not answered. We were told at check in that we could watch the baseball game fireworks on the rooftop and when it got dark we asked how to get to the roof and the guy was very rude, seemed irritated and said we don’t have a roof. We will definitely stay with our normal hotels. We picked this one because it seemed nice online and was next to where we were, we could walk there and not have to drive around.

My husband and I booked a room at the Omni Severin for our first weekend away after our first baby was born. We were really looking forward to it, especially after other people's reactions of how nice the hotel was. We were so disappointed. We stayed in July and the room's A/C wasn't working. It was noticeably warmer and more humid in our room than the hallway. The fan was running, but it wasn't cool air. We gave it the benefit of the doubt for the night, but called in the morning to have it repaired. They were prompt on fixing it, which was very nice.
However, the mini fridge smelled like old, spilled milk and the shower tiles had an adhesive label stuck to it from a previous guest.
The bed was what was most disappointing to me though. There was a flat sheet tucked around the mattress (no fitted sheet), then another flat sheet, the duvet (no duvet cover) and another flat sheet on top. It was very odd. My husband and I also continually rolled towards the middle towards each other, which shouldn't happen in a King bed.
There is only valet parking available, but we just paid for metered parking and refreshed our time via the parking meter's app. We left the city a couple of times, but overall only paid $20 total for the metered parking for about two days of parking. You have to stay on top of it, but it was worth it to me.
Finally, the towels smelled musty and there were very minimal amenities in the bathroom. I expected MUCH more for how much we were paying per night.
We will not be staying at another Omni hotel in the future. We would have been much happier at a Hampton Inn, where we have never been disappointed with our stay.

I took a black car to hotel because I arrive in wee hours of morning. I called Super Shuttle for return trip to airport and it sent a local cab for our return trip to airport. There are cabs in Indianapolis, but I don't understand why they're so hard to identify.
Kristin is correct. We do not have a spa on sight but there are some that are within walking distance of the hotel.
The pool is inside and open year-round.
To my knowledge the Omni does not provide room service in fact I don't believe they even have a pre order breakfast service, but someone please correct me if I am wrong, it's been a minute since we stayed. However there are many wonderful places to eat around the Omni and if you chose delivery I do know they will bring it directly to your room. Hope this helps!
