Staying at the Governor's Mansion was an amazing experience and we can't wait to go back. The rooms were very clean, the mansion was decorated with immaculate details and we felt like royalty. We sat down to the most delicious five course breakfast that we have ever eaten and our hostess was very kind and friendly. We stayed for our honeymoon trip and felt very pampered. I cannot recommend this bed and breakfast highly enough to others!
We stumbled upon this charming B & B as we traveling to SC. We could not have been luckier. From the turn of the century decor to the classic pool table to the FANTASTIC breakfast prepared by our host that was only concerned for comfort and well being. We will now make it a regular stop when we visit family in SC.
Wow! I really can’t say enough about this beautiful bed & breakfast! Gorgeously decorated, we felt like royalty staying here! It was like we got to step back in time and enjoy an era of elegance and comfort! The bed was super comfortable and I had the best night sleep!! This would be the perfect place for a retreat or a wedding! It was only a 30 minute drive to Louisville airport, just over the bridge in the small, peaceful Charlestown, Indiana. I’m so glad I chose to stay there while visiting family in Louisville. The host Deborah, was Sooo sweet and helpful. I felt right at home! Breakfast was delicious and served at 8:30am. Loved the game room with pool table and nice sitting areas to just relax and read a good book! I’ll definitely be back!! Loooove it!
Clean and comfortable space. Lighting is dim in some rooms. Wi-Fi is weak. Lots of beautiful antique decor. Kitchen is very well stocked including every appliance you can think of and spices and condiments and coffee and filters. We found everything we needed: extra towels, blankets, pillows. Beds felt terrific. Restrooms provided shampoo, conditioner, and soap. 30 minutes north of Louisville.
Dogwood Suite - perfection! This was my first (stateside) B&B experience - It was everything we needed it to be! Super easy to find. Great parking. Fully stocked. Quiet. Comfortable bed! I chose the Dogwood Suite because of the dormer sitting area and private bath. Both allowed a much needed retreat from people. The B&B itself also has a hot tub, pool table, gift shop, garden areas, and a nice breakfast. Super cute neighborhood too! Short drive to grocery, pizza, Chinese, sushi, McDs, and a beer / wine / liquor store. If you're coming to town for a visit to Wildlife in Need, Inc, they are 3 miles / 10 minutes away. Perfect accommodations!
