We stopped here overnight. The staff was friendly. The room was clean and comfortable and the price was very reasonable. Highly recommended for travellers. It was an older place which gave it character.

Planned on staying at another "budget property" in Vandalia, IL. Noticed permanent residents shooting baskets in the parking lot & moved on down the road to Jay's Inn. Observed blue collar & business-class guests preparing to check in. What a pleasant surprise to enter a fragrant free room with soft, clean carpet & completely noise free, climate control. The bathroom...

Lots of rooms at a reasonable price. Clean and comfortable. A regular average motel. Cheaper than the alternatives. Fridge and microwave always useful. No shampoo but I had enough from previous motels.

I was passing through from Oklahoma like that other guy. I feel I really lucked out. The place was clean and the people very friendly. I am saying for their benefit they need to find a way to clean the pillows. The linens were clean but the pillows smelled of people sweat. I always travel with my own pillows so...

Cheaper than chain hotels and great rooms that are clean and maintained. We were going to continue to Effingham to a known brand name, but were tired and gave tgis place a try. Great choice. Inwould now choose it over the chain hotels that give points.

Passing thru from Indiana to Oklahoma. Was hoping there was a room available at Jay's and there was. This time there were three of us. Room was clean. Beds soft. A refrigerator and microwave in each room. Nothing fancy, but nice place to stay.

This motel stay is proof of the old saying "you get what you pay for". I was driving late and looking for a bed for the night and found a vacancy here and for only $ 50. The lady at the desk was very polite and the room seemed clean although the motel is very old. I almost couldn't sleep...

Not my normal place to stay, but I would definitely stay again. Independent owner - father & son - keep this place very clean. Rooms were nice and big. Beds comfy. Refrig and microwave are in room. The gentlemen that checked is in was very nice and hospitable. Recommended place across the street for breakfast.

Two story hotel/motel seems to be a semi newer build. Independent ownership, but seems more like the chains than the old style independent places. They seem very attentive to details. Can't find anything wrong with the place. The owner was nice. The doors open up to the outside. Good sized rooms. Nothing super special, but it is all you need....

Very clean rooms. Not fancy if you want that. But had a microwave, refrigerator, wifi (that worked) They didn't charge extra for the two dogs and gave me a room kinda a way from the others so the dogs were comfortable too. No steps for my 15 year old with hip problems. Walk right out the room, no hallways and...

“This is a 2-story property with stairs. We always ask for ground floor. Don't know about handicap or smoking rooms.”
