after a few hours of hiking in brisk December weather, we went to the lodge's bar for dinner with family. The lodge is absolutely spectacular, reminiscent of the lodge at Yellowstone NP although we did not stay at the lodge. Large fireplaces, comfy chairs and the bar area is very cozy. My uncle who lives nearby swears they have the...

We just visited and had a late lunch. Odd hours but our visit was in the fall which I guess is off season. Food was ok but the staff was fantastic. Helpful and full of knowledge. All of them made our day!

The Sunday buffet was excellent in taste, presentation and a great variety of breakfast/lunch options and desserts. The price was very reasonable. The rustic atmosphere is relaxing and provides scenic views of the landscape as well.

Last weekend my wife and I stayed 2 nights in the older part of the lodge. The room was cozy. Beds comfortable. Room clean and it had a ceiling fan. Love ceiling fans and wooden furniture! Went swimming both days and the pool was very clean and water was warm. Not too crowded. Staff were very friendly. There was a...

My husband & I try to visit once or twice a year for one or two nights. It's best to stay during the week when it's less crowded. We normally stay in the hotel wing, the rooms are comfortable & spacious. The hotel wing is pretty quiet and laid back. The great room, lounge, veranda, restaurant and cafe are all...

Stayed here for a wedding. Scenery was grest, room was clean and cozy. The outdoor seating area for the restaurant was a great over look of the area, but lots of bees. Staff was friendly and helpful as well. Tons of fun.

This lodge is ideal for a getaway from Chicago. It takes only 2 hours of driving. The area is beautiful any time of the year, rooms are clean and comfortable, front desk service great and the price is reasonable. 2nd floor seems to be quieter.

Was just there last week, forgot to review. Had a conference. Meals were good, and after hours bar was nice. Be careful if you are going after dark, as the road to the lodge is very narrow and winding. Few local stores just before you get to lodge. Excellent room with Bay window(special room and spacious).

My husband and I went there for two days last week. The staff there was very courteous and friendly. The trails are beautiful. The restaurants had very tasty food. A pleasant and relaxing place to go to enjoy the beauty of the fall.
