Beautiful, historic property that provides a pleasant, very comfortable stay. It is beautifully decorated, Chimney Room has a great bed, the room is large with plenty of seating for TV watching and reading. The breakfast was wonderful, fresh fruit, eggs benedict, choice of juices, and coffee. The service was awesome. We'd stay there again anytime.

I love the Market Street Inn. Stay there when in town for business. I would never stay any place else. The Inn is very comfortable, quiet, beautifully decorated and, breakfast is always delicious. Joe and Myrna are so very kind and friendly. I feel like I am going home after a long day of working. Love the front porch and... More

We needed to break up our driving trip from PA to Branson, Mo, so I made reservations at the Market Street Inn. What a lovely renovated property. The Rose Room was very comfortable, the breakfast was quite delicious, and the innkeepers were very helpful in directing us to Florinda's for dinner. All in all a wonderful experience. When in the... This beautiful property is a warm, inviting, and relaxing place to stay. It has been wonderfully decorated, and the hosts, Joe & Myrna, are so gracious. Joe has a great sense of humor, & enjoys showing guests around the inn. Myrna served the best home grown tomatoes for breakfast! What a treat! We didn't get the opportunity to sit on... More

While I suppose the amenities were better than average for a B&B, I was shocked by the price for an attic room in Taylorville, Illinois. We stayed in the Eagle Nest room in what used to be the attic. My poor husband kept hitting his head on the vaulted ceilings. There were 3 rooms on the floor with a common... More

Market Street Inn is a grand old Victorian house most lovingly preserved. Equally grand is the welcome feeling I experienced when I met Myrna and Joe, keepers of the inn. It is no cliche' to say I felt quite at home here. So relaxing and warm, an atmosphere that takes you back to simpler times. There are, of course, modern... More

We planned to visit our son and his family in Taylorville, and because it is a small town, thought we would have to stay in nearby Springfield or Decatur, approx. 30 min away. Our daughter-in-law told us of the Market Street Inn. We liked the pictures we saw online and decided to make a reservation. It didn't take long, after... More

A number of high school friends gathered at the Market Street Inn for a get away weekend/reunion of sorts. This is our 3rd or 4th visit and the atmosphere and ambiance of this historic old home is just the right catalyst for fun and catching up. Our group spent much of our trip just sitting around the porch and watching... More

This inn accepted our free night coupon from American Historic Inns so we could be pampered with everything nice. We enjoyed the company of this excellent husband and wife team. They even invited us to a picnic out at Taylorville Lake where we met many people from the community and their friends. The picnic fare was excellent! We love small... More
