Terrible hotel. I was a guest for 3 days and I would have had a better experience at a roach coach motel. The room has water damage, the carpet looked 20 years old, and the front staff were unable to communicate in english when I asked for coffee. 3 days and no one ever came and cleaned the room or even offered towels. If there is a procedure to request service it is not provided. The hotel charges $10 for a free continental breakfast, i get that Chicago is expensive but how do you charge for a free breakfast at any other hotel, and it is not any better than anything else, if anything it is worse. Frozen reheated junk, not worth paying for.
I really enjoyed staying here while visiting my son at school! The staff was amazing, especially Patty!! Rooms were clean and the housekeeping staff were all friendly. I have my fur babies with me and we couldn't have been more comfortable. Thanks so much! Patty, you rock!!
Made a reservations thru Travelocity/Expedia, for 8/5 thru 8/8 + pay at hotel, and decided to check out early on 8/7. 3rd party site says contact hotel, hotel normally cannot change a 3rd party hotel reservation etc. We wanted to ensure I would only be charged for 2 nites, not 3. The front desk team went above and beyond to make sure the 3rd party (Expedia) was aware the WE made the decision to cut our trip short. So not to cause issues between the hotel and them or us and Expedia. We thank you for your patience, listening and assistance. Great customer service. Hotel is clean and great location as well.
I want to send a big shout out to Jenifer Juco. She was super sweeet and funny while attending to us. Awesome evening at Bar Louie. Definitely keepin in mind stopping by and taking advantage of some the evening specials, but going back for the service for sure.
We stayed 5 nights. No housekeeping service. None. Nada. We requested it in advance (like we were told AFTER they didn't change the room the first day). Good news - front desk has towels. Wait - they don't when you go to ask. Too bad we'd already thrown our wet towels in the hallway bin. Manager agrees to give me IHG points, which I was never awarded. IHG main customer service was no help. Rep said I called her a liar. What? I did no such thing. Ugh. So long IHG.
We flew to Chicago last week and stayed at this hotel because it was local to where we had to be. I was very clear when I made my reservation on the phone with the front desk that I needed a handicapped room with a bed and coach or easy chair. We arrived and the room had no couch or chair. I went to the front desk and was moved to a regular room that had a couch, but no walk-in shower. The first morning we went for the free breakfast and had to go to the front desk because the person that checked us in did not give us the breakfast cards. Besides that hassle the food was TERRIBLE.... didn't go back any other morning because it was so bad. Another thing that bothered me was that the doors leading out of the hotel next to our room block is 30 feet from the front doors but are kept locked with a sign to use lobby door. VERY DANGEROUS IN AN EMERGENCY. WE WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN.…
The hotel did not live up to what I was expecting from a holiday inn, the convention center is attached and with events going on during the stay parking can get difficult…. The staff wasn’t terribly helpful at check in. The room doesn’t have a coffee pot in it, not sure when they stopped doing this at hotels but they should leave coffee pots in the room. Our shower had mold on the ceiling and the A/C was colder in the hallway than our room. The temperature fluctuated greatly, go to bed freezing and under blankets wake up kicking all the blankets off and under a sheet. I often use the gym facilities while traveling and it was disappointing also. I will choose to stay somewhere else next time I’m in town, no free breakfast included in your stay. Too many red flags here.
This hotel was expensive…$859.16 for 3 nights. This rate doesn’t include breakfast. To get the room cleaned or supplies(only 2 towels and one bar of soap provided- I guess the one in the soap in shower is supposed to be used at the sink too) for 3 nights, you had to sign up 24 hours in advance to get the room cleaned and restocked. When we entered the room there was a dirty towel hanging on the bathroom door and a piece of toilet paper stuck on the wall above the bathroom door. The bathroom floor had not been washed as there was dirt caked on the floor. The workout room had no sweat towels and the wipes used to wipe down the equipment was empty. This is not only gross but scary in a pandemic. We decided to walk outside instead. Picked this hotel since they showed a nice workout room. Didn’t realize cleaning wasn’t a thing. On Sunday am there was either food spilled on the floor between two chairs in the lobby. We showed two of the hotel cleaning staff and the person behind the counter and then went for an hour walk outside. When we came back it was still there. We took a picture of it and showed the guy behind the counter again. It was finally cleaned up after telling people 4 times. Since our bathroom wasn't cleaned when we arrived we signed up for a room cleaning. It appeared to be cleaned when we came back Sunday night but there was still dirt caked on the bathroom floor. Not sure if the hotel was short staffed but if they are going to charge these rates the rooms need to be cleaned when people check in. This is our 3rd and last stay at a various Holiday Inn property. Every one of them had poor cleaning policies in their work out room and poor maintenance.…
My travel companion contacted this hotel 4x prior to our stay to remind them about my down/feather allergies. We arrived at 11:30 pm to a room with 4 down pillows. The front desk manager was rude and told us to leave if we did not like it. The next morning we were promised to speak 2 the GM, and we were given the run-around and lies. He never contacted us. We since heard that GM is no longer there, and now are getting no where with the new person in charge. DO NOT STAY HERE. Another couple in front of us that next morning were there to complain about a price change issue. This hotel is not run well.
Avoid this hotel. The GM of this Hotel Mr. Ismail is the most rudest person. This person don't deserve to be in the hospitality industry. Stay some were else and don't waste your precocious time and money by staying here.
