Absolutely wonderful B and B! The owners are not only warm and welcoming, Monika is a top notch chef! Their personalities put you at ease immediately! The atmosphere is warm and comfortable. As well I cannot say enough about the food!

After living in Fairfield County, Connecticut for 35 years we relocated to North Central Illinois in 2013. November 12th of this year marked our 50th wedding anniversary and we wanted a special place to celebrate that special event. Being unfamiliar with the area, we asked several friends and relatives where they would recommend and several suggested the Chestnut Street Inn....

This establishment makes Sheffield IL a destination. My Father and I were on a cross IL bike trip and we were lucky enough to stay at this charming B&B. The food was world-class and the rooms were really delightful. We left the next morning feeling more refreshed than than I had felt in a very long time. This place makes...

Things you might like about Chestnut Street Inn. 1. It's really clean. My wife likes to look for missed spots and she didn't find any here other than a t-shirt someone left in the dresser. 2. Charming old house. If a B&B with a lot of antiques and interesting curios is your thing, you will like Chestnut. 3. Quiet. We...

I come to the area annually for work. The guy who preceded me in this position told me the only decent hotel in the area was (insert chain hotel). You have to think outside the box! Just because you're on business doesn't mean you can't enjoy yourself! The house is quite charming, and the innkeepers have extensive knowledge of its...

The home is beautifully decorated and clean. The rooms are extremely comfortable and the inn keepers and the friendliest people you will ever meet. Definitely stay for dinner because the food is outstanding and gourmet quality. Our stay exceeded our expectations.

Booked this property as a stop over on a hiking trip, but when weather intervened and destroyed the hike, I was left with a reservation that could not be canceled. My wife and I then visited to enjoy the room, since trying to cancel against the agreed policy seemed rude. The innkeepers are good natured and friendly, and we had...

I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my stay. The Burgundy Room felt like such a retreat, and I loved the sense of history I felt throughout the inn. Amenities I didn't even know I wanted, such as big fluffy bathrobes and chocolates and a fan (for white noise) and a fridge in my room and delicious midnight snacks accessible downstairs,...

I had dinner here as well as breakfast, and both meals were absolutely amazing! They have basically combined a great country inn with a stellar restaurant. It's only a few miles off of I-80, and I stayed here to break up a long road trip. It's well worth it

The Chestnut St Inn is truly a GEM in the country! Monika and Jeff are such kind innkeepers who really know how to do things first class!! The rooms are cozy and well appointed and the meals are terrific. This was our first stay and we will definitely be back; hopefully next time enjoying one of Monika's cooking classes. We...
