After a pleasant visit to view furniture at nearby The Swan Antiques Centre, we came across this quaint old English inn. After a very courteous greeting our group of 6 were offered a great Sunday lunch in the carvery . Good food with plenty of choice of 3 meats and as much vegetables as you could eat, friendly service from...

We live in the next village and this Pub with the Sunday Carvery is a favourite. Sheila who runs the place is friendly and also has a great sense of humour. We often bring family here for the Carvery but would advise anyone to book as it is such a popular place. The food is great and I would highly...

Went here today for Carvery lunch, great little pub, got drinks at the bar and then down a corridor to where the dining room is. It's like stepping into your nans house, big meat selection, lady cuts you a slice off 3 of your choice, along with Yorkshire, then help yourself to 10 Vegetables and gravy with little pots of...

This little pub offers a comfortable nights accommodation, a typical full English breakfast and heaps of ambiance. The night I stayed there, the people were very friendly and made a solo traveler feel right at home. The room was spotless and decorated in a style suited to this typical old English pub.

Found this fab establishment on Facebook, recommended by loads... Missed the Sunday lunchtime Carvery given a Sunday roast instead. A mix of meats & 8 veg and some very friendly conversation. Well scrumptious is too narrow a word. The veg was so nice, it actually melted in my mouth, the meat, top quality joins. The price, very good value too,...

We chose Englands Rose via booking.com, we were made to feel very welcome on arrival by Bob and even though we arrived early were shown to our room, which was clean and bright. Our room had everything you would expect at a typical British pub B&B, the towels were fluffy and clean and the bed nice and comfy. Breakfast was...

Bob and Sheila made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Ideally situated if you're planning to visit Oxford like us, just up the road is the park and ride a short bus journey into Oxford.

I took my Swedish "in laws" to The Oxford region to experience the Midsomer Murders sights etc. We stayed at the England's Rose & it was a truly MAGICAL EXPERIENCE. They were sooooo welcoming & friendly. All of the staff, food & overall stay was BRILLIANT. Sheila was so charismatic, filling a room with her personality, charm & presence that...
