What a fantastic B&B in an even better location We booked for 1 night in September 2016 because we could take the dog, even in the bedrooms and the restaurant. The room was fabulous and very clean. The bed was one of the comfiest I have ever slept in and the bathroom was bigger than the one in my house!...

Another great visit. Went with friends who are not dog owners or dog lovers particularly but they said that they would return. The dogs were better behaved than some of the children! Beautiful walking area . The ferry across the lake will stop in bad weather which happened twice whilst we were there .so be aware if you go across...

What a wonderful review to read, it is always fantastic to read that non-dog owners/lovers enjoyed their stay. We do have dogs in the Inn, but like you say, they sit quietly under the tables, most tired from a days fell walking. I hope you and your friends decide to stay with us again.

I am a little late posting this review. We stayed there as a couple with our little pooch Poppy in November 2016 What a fantastic place this is. It is so warm and cosy and it just invites you in. Once inside you don't want to leave! As pet owners it is so nice to find a place where dogs...

Just returned from the cuckoo brow !! Well what can I say ? You need to be a dog lover to stay here ( 4dogs sitting under a table some barking whilst you eat your evening meal is not unusual in here ) the hotel is a lovely place but if you don't like dogs avoid booking here because at...

Hi there-my name is Dennis and I am a black Labrador-have just spent Christmas with my adopted sister Ella a Labradoodle and my owners Ian and Catherine. We've been here before and we love it-the most dog friendly place we have been to. We get to sit with the owners all the time and the staff give us treats from...

Just returned from our second Christmas at the Cuckoo Brow. Thanks to all the staff for making this Christmas such a magical experience. As always great local food, warmest of welcomes for us and Todd and Mae. Only one disappointment that it had to end. Would highly recommend this Inn, great atmosphere and nothing is too much trouble. Great team...

Very nice, friendly inn. Very dog-friendly. One of the very few places I have been where your dog can be with you at all times. Accommodation is comfortable. Staff are very friendly and efficient. The food is excellent. Very handy for Hill Top and Hawkshead, my favourite Lakeland village.

I quite agree, Far Sawrey is a beautiful little village in the prettiest part of the Lakes, quiet but convenient. I hope that you will think to stay with us should you think of visiting Sawrey again.

We've just returned from a wonderful couple of days here together with our dog. It isn't just dog tolerant as some hotels are, it's truly dog friendly, they are allowed to be with you whilst dining, lots of dogs while we were there all lying down by their owners tables and all getting on! If you like shabby chic charm...

Thank you, it is very nice to read that you enjoyed your Pre-Christmas mini break with you dog. We love having dogs stay with us, like you say it is very relaxed and they just lie down and enjoy the atmosphere as much as the owners do. Went here in April and returned again this week. Everything was perfect again, staff superb, room excellent, food delicious ( don't miss the Hunters hot pot and the thickest sliced ham you'll ever get). Location just right. We will continue to visit in the future.

A warm welcome from the bar staff and we settled into our well equipped room on the ground floor (this mean't that we had to keep the blinds closed as people could see in). The bathroom had a walk in shower with an easily controlled power shower and was nice and warm due to an electric towel rail. The bed...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated in the heart of the quiet village of the Far Sawrey, just a 3/4 mile pleasant stroll to the National Trust home of Beatrix Potter, our Lake District Inn welcomes you to come and sit by the fire. Situated at the top of the hill in between Lake Windermere and Hawkshead Village, surrounded by beautiful scenery, popular walking and cycling trails and of course the countryside which Beatrix Potter drew her inspiration from. We are a classic, yet contemporary Lake District Bed & Breakfast, which has recently been renovated and lovingly restored to its former glory. We now have 14 beautiful en-suite bedrooms, which are a selection of superking size, family and twin rooms, all rooms have power showers, 32" flat screen TVs, tea and coffee facilities and everything you would want from Lake District B&B. We are passionate about the Lakes, and strive to produce a local, sourcing as much produce as possible from the from the bountiful area in which we sit, be that the Real Ales, the game for our Huntsmans Hot Pot or the sausages for our Cumbrian Breakfast which of course no true Lake District B&B would be without. We would like to welcome all to our little Inn, which offers dog friendly accommodation for those wishing to bring their dog away for a holiday in the Lakes. Whether you are popping in for a pint or coming to stay in the Lake District Bed & Breakfast, our doors are open and our fires are on. Food is served all day, 12 noon to 3pm, 5pm until 9pm. ... more   less
