Having spent four great nights at this inn two years ago, it was the obvious choice for an overnight stop en route to Cornwall for a weeks holiday with our little yorkie. The welcome, accommodation, dinner and breakfast was just as excellent as on our previous visit. It was a wrench to have to move onwards on the Sunday morning...

A lovely village pub with a great choice of beers and ciders. The Lamb shank was delicious and the steak melted in your mouth. The cheese platter finished of the meal nicely. Very friendly staff and made to feel welcome by the locals. Highly recommended. Unsure if previous reviewers visited the same pub?

We ate and drank here for two nights in August but actually stayed at a nearby farm overnight. The staff are friendly and the cost of a pint very reasonably priced. The meals are equally well priced by todays standards and are very generous in size, so overall a reason to stay the whole evening! No the place is noy...

My friend and I visited this pub in the early evening, as the place we were staying did not do evening meals. We had a bottle of red wine (perfectly drinkable) and then looked at the menu. This was vast and there were even more options on the 'Specials@ board. I am always alerted by long menus in small establishments,...

Being local I have been to this pub a number of times, but finally gave up after a numerous disappointing visits hoping it would improve or was just having a bad night. On entering, the pub is very small, and there isn't much room to move around, which is ok unless there are more than 3 people in there, usually...

We stayed here on the weekend. Well worth seeking out. Lovely old fashioned pub in tiny village. It's a lovely pub with good pub food. The accommodation was ok. The pub owner was friendly and made us feel at home. Breakfast brilliant, couldn't be bettered. BUT beware. We were quoted £55 over the 'phone for the night so did not...

just few metres from my mates' house, this is a perfect place in which to drink and talk, with good active skittles and pétanque teams which don't mind the odd ring-in! We've eaten there on many occasions, and enjoy the well-prepared, simple fare. The beer selection changes regularly and includes real ales and a burgeoning list of pleasing cider varieties....

We stayed at this great village pub at the end of June and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys lovely countryside, real beer, comfortable accommodation and a terrific welcome. Stogumber is an out of the way little village that has all the essential factors the village life needs: a lovely church; a proper shop; a nearby steam railway station;...

Second day of our Coleridge Way walk and we stayed at the White Horse. Very welcoming and friendly pub with a great atmosphere and charm. Traditional pub menu but we had some pretty slow service between courses during our evening meal on the night we stayed. Although that said the restaurant was busy which is a good sign. Felt our...

“if you have the double room it is above the bar, although you cannot hear much noise. The twin room is above the dining room which i think is only used for bookings of big parties as there is ample eating room in the main bar area”
