My wife and I had lunch at the Gun Inn on August 2nd after visiting Housesteads Roman Fort on Hadrian's Wall. We were on our way to Scotland and The Inn was conveniently on the A68. The bartender/waiter was very friendly and immediately took our order. The food was delivered promptly, I had lasagna and my wife had a burger....

It is a very nice place and is run by a very friendly family. Food was very good (excellent steaks, homemade potatoes) and the breakfast was well done. Rooms are clean and the owners super friendly. I highly recommend this B&B.

We ate here based on the reviews and were not impressed with the food. It was obviously boil in bag as my fish was overcooked and the sauce all curdled and. All except chips looked tired. The drinks and food were expensive. I recommend you drive on to Bellingham and eat there instead.

I am so sorry you did not enjoy your visit to the Gun. I wish you had voiced your complaint at the time of your visit and given us a chance to put things right as by the time we read your complaint via the internet it is too late to do anything. I'm sorry you consider our food and...

We thoroughly enjoyed our night at The Gun Inn. Michael and Liz were so welcoming, the locals in the pub were friendly, and the food on the menu was extensive - what we ordered (vegetarian lasagna and a salmon dish) was delicious. Not to mention the amazing view from the dining room. Most importantly, the room was clean and the...

We stopped here for lunch on our drive to Edinburgh. Excellent service, friendly locals and tasty food. If we're travelling this way again we would certainly consider an overnight stay. Do stop in if you're in the area.

we were very happy with the bar-tending, they made us feel welcome. I would recommend that every body that passes the pub will visit it, the boy behind the counter was very experienced with people's orders.

We stayed overnight at the Gun, having chanced upon it on our travels around England and I am so glad we found this little gem in the beautiful Northumberland countryside. The pub is small but really friendly, no standoffish locals here. The room we were given was clean and extremely comfortable with a lovely king size bed. We had dinner...

We stopped here for Sunday carvery lunch while driving down from Edinburgh to York. I have to say we weren't expecting a lot from this small village pub but were pleasantly surprised. The pork roast we had was very good, and the price was reasonable. The main room of the pub had a slightly better atmosphere but it was full...
