We made reservations for 2 rooms through a central booking number for Red Roof Inns. Upon arrival, the manager was rather curt and told us that one of the rooms was "booked differently" and charged $79.80 for the second room. My credit card was charged $126.50 for each room, plus that $79.80. When I called the central number, I was told to call the motel directly for all billing issues. The manager there told me there was no record of the confirmation numbers. So, essentially, I paid $166.40 for each room. They were clean enough but smelled musty --- certainly not up to standards for the price I paid.
We stayed for only one night (thank heaven). We couldn't regulate heat at all. Felt like a sauna in there. Even turning it off did nothing. Called front desk and he said to pull the plug. In winter???? Dirty floor and dresser drawers. Lamp and bathroom vanity had burnt out light bulbs. Drain lever in sink was broke, so we had to hold up the stopper to drain water. Took a 5 minute shower and ran out of hot water. Towels and washcloths were paper thin. We stay in Morton Grove often because we have relatives there. Will not use this hotel again. Definitely not worth the $83 we paid.
From the start we should have known it was gonna be bad...we went to check in...the lady working was so rude the way she spoke to us. My fiancé had the reservation under his name and i was goin to pay..she got upset cause we didn’t know the reservation had to be under the same person paying... We got the king room w/spa tub... Ok for the price we expected it to not be the ritz but gee.... First thing i do is go to the restroom as i had to pee...ok sorry guess i can’t do that as there was NO toilet paper...i looked around the hotel room and found NONE except the “roll” that was in the bathroom,it was literally to the cardboard end. I keep looking and notice there is only 1 full sz shower towel...the rest are small hand towels(we got the room with the spa tub, why only 1 full sz towel?!) My fiancé goes to the front desk to ask for toilet paper and towels...the lady at the desk keeps telling him there are toilet paper and towels in our room rudely and keeps insisting there are already toilet paper and towels!! She even asks him(in a rude tone) did you check?!! Obviously we checked before walking to the front desk!!! But beyond that, it’s your job to assist us! If we need an extra towel or TP its your job to provide it! But the fact is it wasn’t even there to begin with!! As my fiancé is dealing with trying to get what we need, im looking around the room... there’s dirt and dust all over the floors, previous people who rented had flower pedals i guess cause there was those left on the floor in various spots... Alot of holes in the walls that had been patched up but not properly or even painted the same color!! Literally threw spackle on it and called it a day! There was even a hole covered with a piece of wood!! Like 2 screws and wood!! Tv worked but channels all wrong according to their tv guide list..whatever we didn’t watch it anyways... Hot tub mirrors had hand prints all over... the hot tub was half broken..the drain was constantly draining even while in use!! The part that holds the drain was falling off..literally the screws where so unloose!! There are no hand rails and no grip in the tub,the steps are large and tile!! Im 100% sure the whole in the wall that had the wood covering it was from someone slipping and falling out of the spa tub cause i almost did(in the same spot!! Right next to the mirrors but directly arms length from the tub steps!) but luckily my fiancé was there to help me out. If you’re wondering...no we didn’t get an extra towels and he had to argue more just to get us a roll of TP. She said she will “make a note” about the towel! Umm wtf does that mean?! Do you not have any towels?! Yeah..we never got another towel so when drying off one of us had to use hand towels!! Tryin to make the best of our stay we decided to watch a show on our ipad..we go sit on the bed and the sheets have stains..the pillows are not comfortable and its a hard wood head rest with 4 cheap pillows leaned against..it was so uncomfortable ..at tgat point we’ve had it and decided to leave! Not even 4 hrs after checking in and we just couldn’t make the best of it anymore! We choose this place cause it was close to our home and wanted a little vacation..we had a “spa day” planned, went out got a little massage and wanted to end it in a hotel and relax... well the last part didn’t get to happen. As we checked out, all the lady asked was” oh you’re leaving? So i can check you out then?!” My fiancé said yes and we left. She didn’t even mention the towels,tp or if we needed any assistance or anything. Never ever ever ever will i rent from this company again.. $107 down the drain, literally!!…
I enjoyed the hotel a lot. It’s very clean and I was very comfortable. It rooms smelled great. I will definitely come back here whenever I travel. Thank you sandy for your warm welcoming and thanks to kelly as well. Great management.
The room was nice and clean. We stayed for four days and the room was cleaned daily. The hot tub was amazing! Kelly and Sandy made sure our stay was amazing and that we hat EVERYTHING we needed. I'll definitely be back!
I visited Chicago on the 2/6 -2/7. I stayed at this hotel everything was amazing the room was clean and gave me nothing to complain about. I enjoyed the hospitality of the staff. Kelly checked me in with a huge welcoming attitude and I met sandy who was also genuine and caring. Highly recommend visiting this hotel they are an amazing team with an amazing hotel. I will definitely visit again soon.
I’ve enjoyed my visit at the Red Roof Inn Morton Grove. The room is very comfortable and clean. The entire staff has been very polite, courteous, and professional. I would like to give Cle and Sandy a special thank you for helping to make my stay enjoyable. I’ve really enjoyed my time here.
My room was clean and comfortable. I have no complaints about the room. The breakfast was skimpy but that is not a problem. Most people don't come for the breakfast. Not a lot of food options close by. All in all, if you want a clean, comfortable nights sleep for $100 or less, consider this place.
The room was fine, but some guests were not very quiet which made for an unpleasant night It was clean, the front desk persons were always friendly and helpful We would have preferred to stay closer to downtown, but pricing here was what we needed If you don't get to the continental breakfast early there is not much for selection
This hotel has comfortable, nicely equipped rooms with Wifi, a refrig, microwave, coffee maker. Staff are friendly, breakfast is good. The location works for us without a car due to access to several buses, and the Metrarail train to the Loop. There are several cafes nearby - Thai, Chinese, Dunkin Donuts, and the vast food buffets at Marianos Market. We'd recommend this place.
