I continue to stay at this property Year after year but nothing seems to change to update and upgrade the very dated rooms. The location is very good if one has to be in Itasca - Schaumburg area but it is important to drive or use Uber for commuting.
We chose this hotel specifically because we needed a dog-friendly hotel outside of Chicago while on a road trip. We made a good choice with the Westin. There is no extra fee for a pet, and there was ample green space near the hotel to walk our pup. The rooms were comfortable. Parking is plentiful and free. One note is that the elevators are glass and the corridors on each floor overlook the open lobby on the main floor. If you are bothered by heights, you might want to request a lower floor.
Rooms are so hot with no ability to cool them off. There was a leak in the bathroom ceiling that they did not fix or offer a different room, just leaked all over the counter and toilet, making the floor slippery and all my personal items soaked. Very loud, all the noise from the lobby and hallways float up and walls are thin. Don’t plan on being able to actually sleep if staying here. Front desk promised breakfast would be open by 6:30am and it was not open each day until after we had to head out at 7am.
The hotel facilities are excellent. The rooms are large, and were very clean. The only problems I encountered were cost related. A cab was $70 from O'Hare and breakfast buffet at the hotel was $20, and not any better than other hotels. The hotel d does not have reasonably priced vending machines - snacks and soda are at their shop and pricey.
Staff was very friendly, and loved the Bistro. Bed was very comfortable. The hotel is 12 stories with all rooms opening up to a huge atrium in the middle with glass elevators. Issue with that layout is you can hear EVERYTHING - including drunken wedding parties stumbling through the lobby after midnight. Hotel should provide earplugs in all rooms, or hire security guards to move people along.
came in really late, Status was recognized, upgrade was given. room was a bit dated and beat up, hotel is due for a facelift. but everyone was nice and polite, breakfast was good. would stay again if I need to be in the area.
After having made and double checked reservations I arrived after a $100 taxi trip from The overpriced airport to be informed by the front desk that they bounced my reservation to some large party and “get wrously covered the price of a new reaervation at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention hotel”. Now I’m stuck canceling my dinner plans with aliens at the latest possible rude notice and waiting to take yet another taxi to some new place NOT of my choosing without knowing how close this is to my client’s offices for all day meetings tomorrow or not. I’m furious. I’m disgusted. I’m put out….sitting here just waiting for another taxi seething at how incredibly stupid and RUDE this is. F the Westin and Marriott
This hotel is a hidden gem in the rough. The staff are phenomenal and it was very obvious that all levels of management sincerely cared about taking good care of the guests. I was also impressed by the condition of my guest room — it was very clean and well maintained.
We stayed at the Westin on July 3, 2022 overnight. The lobby is spacious and modern. The restaurant has really good food, even if its pricey, Our room bed was comfortable. According to the lady at the front desk, Priceline customers are steered into certain rooms. We had adequate hot water for showers but noted that the bathroom seemed to have had water damage. The tub was cracked and had been patched. Mold and rust were evident on the tiles around the tub. The ceiling had rust and appeared to have been repaired. Towels were thin and skimpy. The phone in the room did not work. There was no sign stating you need to activate a button or lever to get it working. Internet service was spotty. It was ok for one night. But the property is not up to the standards of other Westins we have stayed in.…
I reserved a room for one night on the web, but I wasn't able to find a confirmation email. I called up to ask if they could see if I had a room reserved, and they said they could not find one, so I asked her to book me a room. She booked me for two nights instead of one, and she apparently didn't see that there already was a room reserved on a debit card closed due to fraud. It was a battle to get them to refund the money, and they would only refund it to the card closed due to fraud so I still haven't been able to receive necessary funds at enormous inconvenience. The front desk manager still hasn't returned my call to discuss this.
