For $125 this resort sure beats any other hotel. I found the prairie style older decor refreshing and clean. Nice fireplace and sitting area in lobby, the rooms are huge and the windows cover the whole side of the room, along with an outdoor patio. Bed was extremely comfortable and room was sparking clean with a mini fridge. The only slight negatives would be no coffee in the lobby. My husband and i wake about 5 am, and coffee wasn't available until 6:30 am in the little cafe.. We also didn't go to the hot tub since we didn't want to go outside and walk to the hot tub in the frigid cold. It would be nice if they could enclose the walkway to the spa. The small bar in the lobby was wonderful. Staff was all very nice and accomodating. We will probably come a few times a year for a getaway since it's not too far from our house…
If belligerently drunk people screaming and fighting outside of your room from 1 am to 4 am is your thing, stay here. If you would prefer to sleep at your hotel, pick somewhere else. Front desk/staff seem completely oblivious to it all.
I grew up going to Eaglewood and enjoying the experiences. I just vacationed here and while some staff was nice and accommodating, I am upset that my bed lined was covered in blood stains and the bathroom was not clean. I realized that the bed was unsuitable after a night out, I should have checked when I arrived, but I did not know that I needed to. There was nothing that the staff could do to fix the situation and all they did was provide a thin comforter, but I had to take everything else off the bed so the night stay was uncomfortable. When I checked out, I told the front staff and all they did was say that it was noted, the least you can do is apologize. I normally enjoy this resort but for the price for the stay, I expect better service.
Booked a suite for $375/night and expected a beautiful resort and spa as the name implies. Nothing could be further from the truth. The service was terrible and the facility was worse. The "suite" was dark dingy and rundown. They inform you at check in that there's not daily maid service. There was no bell hop to help us to our "suite". The furniture in the room is decrepit old and in a state of disrepair. The couch and chairs in our "suite" were so gross that we wouldn't sit on them. The facility itself is very poorly designed. You need to walk a huge distance to reach the elevator to the rooms. The entire facility including the spa is run down. I understand the lender recently took title to the property and is responsible for its management. Lots of work to do to make it a decent hotel. I doubt it could be rehabbed into a full service first class resort because of the poor design without major construction. There are several nice hotels in the area for a fraction of the cost. Wish we had stayed at one of them.…
Had a good time until I started seeing bit marks the next day. I didn’t initially know what it was until after my stay and looking it up because they itches really bad. I also seen them on my infant too. Definitely going to notify the better business bureau. I tried calling several time and when I was supposed to be transferred to someone I could file a complaint to, they hung up. And when I called back no one picked up. Hopefully someone will get back with me because I certainly wouldn’t want anyone else to experience that, or worst, Bring Them Home!
We stayed the weekend for a special occasion. The General Manager and staff went above and beyond to make our stay so wonderful! Golf us amazing and the spa is top notch! Highly recommend this resort to come and check out! We would return in a heartbeat! Can't thank the GM and staff for such a fantastic weekend!
This was my second visit to Eaglewood for a school board retreat of three days. The space couldn't be more beautiful. I love the Prairie style design elements throughout, literally even down to the trim in the public restrooms. It's very calming. Bedrooms are large and the beds comfortable. I'm not a fan of the pillows (too hard), so I bring my own. The food was delicious and plentiful. Served buffet style, each day's lunch is themed around a particular region ... Italian, Asian ... and the breakfast buffet was quite extensive, catering to every breakfast preference. And the views from the rooms are quite lovely. Expansive. I want to especially commend the staff for their friendliness and helpfulness. I'm definitely looking forward to my next visit.
our room had a big balcony - unfortunately the cleaning staff must never take care of it. needed a good sweeping. the lime coriander soap, shampoo, conditioner was nice. I like the fact that they don't waste plastic with the little mini bottles and mini soaps. much less waste the way they did it. beautiful golf course. I walked it and saw bunnies, squirrels, geese, a giant blue heron, toads. lots of cicada noise. excellent breakfast buffet. everybody working there was gracious and helpful. we had to request a coffee maker and there wasn't any microwave in the room
went to the spa today with my mom to celebrate my 40th birthday. The spa and services were fantastic but I have an issue with the customer service. After my service I approached the desk to pay for the service and this encounter took me 35 minutes. The last thing I want/wanted to do was stand at a desk for all that time. I wanted to go home to relax. I presented with a gift card. It appeared no one knew how to redeem the card, therefore we were stuff there for all that time. They even asked me to call my family to ask how much the gift card was for (which was extremely aggravating to my brother) that point, it didn't matter but they weren't aware how to use the system. As someone who works in customer service they should of let me leave and called after they figured it out or atleast offered a discount. Disappointed with this. The manager even said, I'm sure they didn't just get you a $40 gift card for your birthday. I thought that was rude. Very disappointed. Manager even told me she would just cover the service because she couldn't figure it out but instead I stood there for 35 minutes just to land up paying …
So many good things about my stay… if I had been able bodied I would give my stay all the stars. Staff was excellent, food was the best I’ve had at a conference. So good. But. This is an older facility, built before anyone thought that people in wheelchairs might go out in public. None of the restrooms in public areas had automatic door openers, and the doors are heavy, so you rely on the kindness of strangers to let you in and out. The first guest room I was offered which was stated to be accessible had an ordinary tub with no bench. I was able to get my room changed to one on the 4th floor with a roll-in shower, so be sure to be specific when you book and check in. ALL guest rooms are miles away from the conference center. My maximally accessible room had 3 steep LONG ramps to climb… they were too steep for me- I had to laboriously pull myself in my chair arm over arm using the rail. Door thresholds had a marble piece that required a huge effort to get the chair over. You really need to have a companion to push you or a motorized chair… if you are in a manual chair your stay will be exhausting. Avoid a room on any but the 4th floor - the guest room tower elevators are very tiny and hard to get your chair in and out of. I realize that the hotel can’t remodel around the ramps, but perhaps they could have a few rascal chairs available for independent handicapped guests who don’t have power chairs, since they don’t have ANY rooms that can avoid the long steep ramps. The so-called accessible rooms with ordinary tubs could be made more accessible if they provided a tub transfer bench in those rooms. There’s no excuse for the lack of door openers on the public area bathrooms.…
