We recently visited the Maldives for the fourth time, and this time we chose Sun Aqua Vilu Reef. Our main criteria for the choice were wonderful house reef and beautiful rooms recently redone. We spent 8 nights in this amazing resort - booking 2 delux beach villas, one for my parents and one for us + our 3 years old son. The resort manager was super kind and upgraded us to Jacuzzi Beach Villas which I highly recommend as the position and view is way nicer making the extra cost worthwhile. The house reef is indeed beautiful full of corals (most is unfortunately bleached but coming back to life and colours), colourful fish, sharks, turtles and stingrays. Food is ok especially Asian one, service friendly and professional, and the all inclusive program covers more than enough of what one wishes for. Rooms are the best we have found so far in Maldives, light spots have been carefully selected and positioned around, the bathroom is huge and to die for, the open area in front of the room features two wooden sun chairs and an hammock ideal for reading and napping.
Definitely worth a visit, if you wish to discover paradise on earth!

We just returned for a two-week stay at the Sun Aqua Vilu Reef in the Maldives. We had a fantastic experience. From the arrival at the international airport until the check in for the return flight we were taken care and pampered by the Sun Aqua staff. The transfer to the resort was really smooth with a short stay in the Sun Aqua lounge at the TMA terminal. On the arrival at the island, we were greeted by the staff and our guest contact, Beibei, assisted us with all the formalities and escorted us to our villa. She was always there to assist us in every request and very proactive in making sure that everything was perfect. Our room had a fantastic view on the sand bank, it was very spacious and well equipped. The island is very well maintained and clean. Especially on the sunset side the sand is very soft. The overall facilities of the resort are very nice too. The staff at the dive center and the turtle kids deserve a special mention. Maany of the turtle kids was really sweet with our little daughter always positive and smiling. The location of the restaurants, especially The Aqua and The Well Done is simply fantastic: the first one is over water whereas the second is on a stretch of amazingly soft beach. The house reef is one of the best reefs I have ever seen, and it was only a few steps from my room. Difficult to express emotions in a few lines but I will never forget this vacation and I thank all the staff at the Vilu Reef for their kindness and care towards my family. We cannot wait to be back.

With special reference to Ashraf- who personally saw to all of our needs and went above and beyond to make our stay more comfortable and enjoyable. From arranging all of our excursions to decorating our honeymoon suite even hand placing each flower petal in perfect symmetry! You are truly an asset to this resort and we hope to see you in a management position when we return ! Also, to Puran and Sai - waiters who had us laughing till our stomach hurt, thank you for your outstanding service and the constant entertainment you brought with you each time we were lucky enough to have you both service our table! We will carry you all in our hearts and try to take a page from your pure and humble outlook on life when we are back home and back to reality!
The resort itself is absolute paradise! Crystal clear water, in every shade of blue, pure white sand that feels like powder under your feet! Everything runs like a well oiled machine, even though the resort was full , it felt as if we were the only two people on the island! The staff greet you with a friendly smile every time they walk passed you and make you feel extremely comfortable. The food is amazing, with every evening featuring a different cuisine at the buffet restaurant or amazing freshly caught fish and high end gourmet meals at the main restaurant!
This resort was everything we could of hoped for and more & We will definitely be returning to Sun Aqua and hope to meet all of our new FRIENDS again !

Wow what a place! Travelled solo and stayed for 2 weeks in December. I could not have asked for a better holiday. Sun Aqua Vilu Reef truly is paradise. You certainly won’t be disappointed, bored or go hungry if you choose this resort. They clearly care a great deal about their guests right from assigning you a host (Fazly was brilliant for me) when you arrive through to waving you off with affection as you leave.
A huge thank you to the waiters Hamendra, Shifau and Manaaf in the Aqua restaurant for going well above and beyond to speak with me as a solo traveller and for sharing an insight into Maldivian life that a tourist to a resort would not ever normally experience. They even showed up to the pier to say farewell on the last day in their own rest break time. Shanuka also cooked some great pasta fresh to order.
Raju the room cleaner was the nicest and most professional member of a superb housekeeping team in a hotel that I’ve ever met and did absolutely everything he possibly could to make sure his guests had the time of their lives in luxury.
Another massive thank you goes to Tharinda, Iyas and Ibrahim at the pool bar for their service and fun conversation. They were always exceptionally kind and welcoming and I greatly enjoyed spending most days and evenings by the pool talking with them about everything from Sri Lanka to the football. The new “The Spice” restaurant that opened during my stay is a clever addition to the resort’s catering offering and putting it in Tharinda’s hands to supervise is excellent recognition of his extremely high standards of service and care for his guests.
Pasha and Thiago at the dive school gave superb instruction over 4 incredibly memorable dives. Pasha was an exceptional and patient teacher who has motivated me to complete the PADI open water certificate next time I dive.
All the staff at the resort work exceptionally hard over long hours and they set a gold standard in the way they always have a warm smile and brilliant service to the guests in their care. You all made the holiday a special trip and I hope to see you again soon!

Starting from the sea plane service from the beginning of our vacation to the overwater villas in the middle of the Indian ocean makes this place a special spot for me and my wife. I speak for both of us and we thoroughly enjoyed the stay.
Just for people interested in knowing the details, the seaplane experience is one of its kind, I highly recommend to pay the extra buck. The resort also provides a lounge near the airport if you arrive hours before the seaplane departure. The lounge is super comfortable with light breakfast and spa treatments. We spent an hour and half in the lounge and have no complaints.
Coming to the resort, it is one of the best resorts I have been too. We stayed at the overwater villa. The room was spacious, beautiful and the just being on the water with the sounds of the waves waking you up in the mornings makes the room much more special. The amenities in the room are good and the bathroom is spacious with the huge window (can be opened) with view of the ocean. The private jacuzzi with the sounds of waves relaxing you is a must try in this room.
Coming to the food, it was tasty. Their premier restaurant "the well done" had some of the best foods I have tasted. We happened to be there on the valentines day and the valentines day dinner was a masterchef experience without a doubt.
I would definitely suggest the spa treatments they offer. Such relaxing at the end of our trip. They make you feel special
Overall the staff was really cool and friendly. I would highly suggest to visit the place without any question. You will get your money's worth.

Visited Sun Aqua Villu Reef Resort for 4 nights. The moment we stepped off the boat onto the pier of the resort, their hospitality began and never ended. The resort island is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited. Water in the shades of sapphire, gleaming white sand which reflect sunlight, pretty corals and colourful fishes that swim near the beaches. The rooms were clean with amazing views. We had booked beach villa for 3 days and water villa for a day. I wish we could have spent more than a day on water villa, though expensive but it was worth every penny. More than the place I want to talk about the people working there. Their hospitality was incredible, always smiling and welcoming. The food was also good, with a plethora of options to choose from. Since we were on the “all inclusive” package we didn’t have to pay anywhere, except for the 2 Paid activities we took part in, which were Scuba diving and Spa massage. All in all it was an unforgettable and memorable experience, one which we will be talking about for years to come. A must visit and highly recommended place.

Maldives is indeed a paradise of earth for its clean blue sea with magical underwater life it offers you. Sun siyam villa reef resort is a small island resort with all the luxury you can imagine to have a perfect family holiday. They have 2 bars, 3 restaurants, 1 big common pool area, 1 kids play area, badminton and basketball courts, gym, spa, shopping area, snorkel and water spots area and last but not the least diving school.
Food is nice, and you will get a variety of global cuisine. I would recommend going for Full board which includes unlimited food, drinks and beverages at this resort. Each dish & drinks are expensive so wiser to go full board.
Do remember to carry Sun black, hat, waterproof cases for camera or Go pro with a stick.
We had stayed in amazing Aqua pool rooms with Sunset view. You will get options with a pool or no pool, on the beach, on the sea cottage types.
For snorkelers specific areas are marked. If you have an aqua room you can just jump from your room.
Staff is prompt & helpful in getting what you need. Each room will have one host and you can coordinate with him if you need anything anytime. Rooms are cleaned twice a day keeping in mind pool and beach activities. If you have children just don't worry. They have a place called "Turtle kids" a specialised area for toddlers to other children with 2 dedicated ladies staff. Special thanks to Prema. They have different activities planned to entertain kids.
Dolphin ride is superb. Kids also love watching sting rays and baby sharks visiting near the reception area which hotel staff feeds them everyday.
Both the Bars are perfect to unwind in the afternoon or evening.
This also ticks the box of traveling by Sea plan because you can reach here only by one.

We were there for honeymoon in late August of this year, island has an amazing nature following the indian ocean.
We spend 7 wonderful days and stayed in sunrise reef villa and aqua sunset reef villa. Enjoyed both!
In Sunrise reef villa you can get experienced fantastic sunrise and dance with your partner in the lovely moonlight, both as the best.
Sunset aqua reef villa also very good, has a tiny swimming pool to have a good time in, also can be an option instead of ocean swimming for refrainers, really good sunset but no moonlight view in it (depends on room location of course)
Floating breakfast was the best!
There is more than 10 viewpoint to see amazing sunset in island. We captured and memorized lots of. Don't nap there all day, go for a walk around the island and see wonderful locations in there.
Food and beverage was 10/10. There are many optional food concept in a couple of restaurants called as the Spice-indian food, Welldone-seafood and buffet ( international food also delicious and assorted)
Alcoholic or non Alcoholic beverages and cocktails are also enjoyable, addicted to "maple whisky sour" and "Blue Lady". Take a picture with a Blue Lady in pool-ocean scene. Wow.
Cleaning was perfect in the room and public facilities, without any problem. Room cleaning does its job twice a day and fills the minibar when you were out of room, they never disturb you.
As a matter of fact, public places are more clean than your room.. Rarely seen!
Staff was very kind and helpful, unbelievable service that we have never seen before. They respond everything that we need kindly in time.
Also special thanks to staff member "Max" also. Was very helpful and kind. You are a good man.
As a result, it was amazing honeymoon vacation in there, very clean, great staff and service, a right choice in Maldives destination.

We had been told many times that the Maldives could be the dream that we have been looking for holiday wise. Well my wife found a deal on Secret Escapes that looked like it would fit our requirements, so she booked it. I will not bore you with the flight details as that is a matter of choice, excepting that the sea plane transfer from Male Airport was magical! We were dropped off at a pontoon a few hundred meters from the island by the seaplane and taken by the boat, a Dhoni to the Key. Visually the sea and island were stunning and the colours even more striking than the pictures and videos that we had seen. There are 103 apartments of differing type and we had a beach villa for 6 days and a reef villa for 4 days. The accommodation was exquisite and all the villas had air conditioning, we were very happy with our room and the outlook to the beach and reef. The water temperature was that of a Luke warm bath, clear and apparently clean with a huge number of fish visable. We snorkeled daily and never tired of the beauty of the surrounding reef area. Reef shoes are a must here and we were advised to purchase our own before we came. Our stay in the reef villa, on stilts was different but no less enjoyable and had direct access to the water via some steps from the villa. Th water was not very deep here, about 1.25 meters at low tide and not much deeper at high tide, again lots of fish including reef sharks and rays. There were 3 restaurants on the island, one was called The Aqua was very comprehensive buffet and you just turned up at the appointed time were shown to a table ( both inside and outside were available) and could chose your meal. The other 2 needed to be booked in advance, but both were very good. On arrival you were allocated a guide, for want of a better word that was your go to person if you needed any help or information. Our guide was called Sabah and we must say that he was exceptional and looked after us very well. Thank you Sabah! He even took us snorkelling on his day off. In the Aqua we were well looked after by Zee and her team and the pool bar by Thushara who on one occasion waited beyond normal hours to look after us and Roksada on reception. There were so many wonderful people that also made this visit so very enjoyable, but they were working behind the scenes mainly but we should extend our thanks to them too, especially the Omelette king at breakfast. Obviously there was a variety of water sports available for the brave including sub aqua diving, fishing and all sorts of other things to do in and on the water. We could write a book about this place but will close by saying we loved every single minute of our stay and will probably go back!

Amazing hotel. Very beautiful. All the people were incredibly nice. The snorkeling around the hotel was great. Very easy place to jump in and see all the amazing fish.
The room was great, over the water where you can watch the sharks, rays, and fish swim underneath.
Best for us was the SCUBA school on site. The entire team there are very friendly and welcoming to all skill levels. I hadn't dived in awhile, and my wife had never SCUBA dived. Axmee, our instructor, was very accommodating allowing for both of us to dive together safely. They also put together awesome photos and videos for us to remember the trip by. Thanks again!
Only negative for us was the food. We were not on the full board or all inclusive options (extra $120 per day per person) and all the restaurants were on set menus. As vegetarians, there wasn't too many options, and a $71 (plus tax) set menu for a basic salad seemed very high. Wouldn't have been a problem on full board or all inclusive, or probably even if we weren't vegetarian.

We visited last October and stayed in a deluxe beach villa. Yes there were some mosquitos (but it's no worse than any other Maldivian islands we've stayed on) - so we used repellent most evenings. They were fogging the island regularly - but as there is a lot of foliage, there are a lot of places for the little blighters to hide!
Water villas are generally better for lack of mosquitos around the accommodation - but of course you have to come on to the island to go to the bars and restaurants.

No they task you when u arrive they will make your stay amazing doing up your table and room enjoy xx
"The Nautilus bar can play music quite late sometimes so if you have children wanting to sleep I would advise to stay further away from this and the sunset villas are ok"
