The Ancient Jageshwar temple complex is situated in a beautiful mountain valley covered with thick forest of Cedar Trees, (even 1000 years Deodar Trees). Two streams Nandini and Surabhi locally known as “JataGanga” flow down the hills and meet near the sacred spot. Dense grove of Cedar trees, perpetual verdure, & sweet murmur of the river stream give a peculiar charm & sanctity to this place. The oldest shrine is of “The Jyotrilingya -NAGESSH DARUKAVAN” dedicated to Lord Shiva. The biggest shrine is of the ‘Dandeshwara ‘situated around 1.5 kms on the road to Jageshwar Temple Complex. According to Vedas, Puran and ancient sculptures, This Place-Jageshwar-forest area is said to be the “Ancient Sapt-Rishi Forest”. The Great Seven Sages (Sapt-Rishi) got their wisdom from these ancient deodar forests. This is also the place from where the worship of “SHIV-LINGA” and the most powerful “Mahamrityunjay Mantra” started. Explore 124 historic temples founded by Shankaracharya & completed over centuries; with hundreds of magnificent statues of unmatched craftsmanship. It is also believed that Kings of Chandra Dynasty donated the revenue of 365 villages to the Jageshwar Temple. They also assigned the responsibility of bringing oil & other things to these Villages. It is said that three meditating idols made of eight metals (Asht-Dhatu) were in the Temple. At present there are only two of them. King Deep Chanda and King Pavan Chandas. King Deep Chanda is standing before God Jagnath Having everlasting Deepak in his hands (The Deepak is continuously maintained and is lite since 8th Century). The Lord Shiva is worshipped throughout the year in Jageshwar, and there are Special Mela of “SAWAAN”& “MAGH” which offer an excellent insight to the rich cultural heritage which this place offers. On moon - liet night, the view of the sparkling snow clad peaks is an exhilarating experience. Our resort is situated 9 kms from the Jageshwar-Temple complex on the top of an east facing open valley. This location offers a panoramic view of the Himalayan peaks such as Nanda Devi, Nanda Ghunti, Panchachulli, Maiktoli; etc.Guests can enjoy incredibly beautiful Sunrises and Moonrises amidst the soul stirring peace & natural beauty in the laps of Mother Nature.

Wonderful experience with owner, manager, house keeping staff, and the food. The hospitality they displayed was above and beyond. They treated us like family and catered to our needs be it children' friendly food, authentic Kumauni food, special requests, or an event we celebrated there.
I highly recommend the stay as the location is in mountains which adds to your experience of Jageshwar visit.

We had booked mystic mountain for 2 nights but checked out in 1 night itself....when I booked the room I thought I was paying extra Rs.4500 per night during off season as the services promised would be available. The meals were vegetarian inspite of them promising during booking that non- veg would be available for dinner, the TV in the room didn’t work(except hindi news channels), the geyser water pressure was so low that we had to request the staff to get us a bucket of hot water to shower, bedsheets were stained and small-didn’t even fit the bed. When we raised the issues and spoke to the person concerned to just get one channel activated as we wanted to watch the india Australia match, they didn’t even do that and said that they can’t cater to each and every customer whim regarding channels ;the person was rude and kept giving excuses. I’m giving two stars as the staff is very courteous and tried making up for the lack of facilities. We altered our travel plans as we just couldn’t stay there anymore !!!

Amazing experience.
This is a beautiful place to visit. We stayed for 3 days, while there. We walked all over the mountain side, exploring as much as we could get too. On the last day, the fog cleared enough to actually see all of the mountains.

It's a long weekend, so five of us in a group planned for a trip to jageshwar which is in Uttarakhand. Beautiful, peaceful place away from Delhi pollution and noise. Place where internet hardly works and basically a no network area.
So we started our journey from Delhi to Uttarakhand which is 9.10 hours away, according to google maps. Drive was fun in a way, we ate, we shop and we chat.
So we started at 11am and reached there by 9pm to our beautiful destination "mystic mountain resort",which is 9km away from jageshwar temple.
Jageshwar comes in Almora district with an elevation of 1870m. Jageshwar is one of the Hindu pilgrimage town. Jageshwar group of Hindu temples are a group of over 110 Hindu temples. Entry in temple is free. Timings of temple entry in summers is from 4am to 10pm and in winters is from 6am to 8pm. So plan accordingly to visit Jageshwar dham.
It was isolated and in the unexplored part of Uttarakhand. Resort was big, beautiful, cozy and sky was clear and we can see the stars with naked eyes! That experience was unique.

The rooms were comfortable and clean. The food was served to us in a common dining area. The food was made of vegetables which were grown in their own farms and it tasted like home.
There were kiwi farms, guava farms and vegetable farms. We clicked some shots ate lunch and we went to visit jageshwar temple which was 9km away from our resort. The temple experience was spiritual and astonishing as the power that place held was tremendous. Lot of spiritual priests were there to make us understand the meaning behind all these temples and power.

Honestly, my expectations were humble when I made reservations. After all, what's the best one can expect from a relatively lesser known extremely touristy location popular for religious reasons? Happy to report that we were pleasantly surprised when we got here though. This place is about 9 kms ahead of the Jageshwar temple complex and the single hilly road passes thru a jungle with gorgeous views & peaceful environs. So absolutely no hustle bustle whatsoever.
This is a beautiful property nestled outside a tiny village. Comfortable large rooms come loaded with amenities. Amazing views from the room itself is what you get for free. Food is just like at home. And the staff does a stupendous job in feeding you. Don't worry if you over-eat, the mountain air will aid metabolism & you'll be ready for next meal in no time. Of course this'll be faster if you decide to go on a trek, where you can be escorted by Tyson or Tiger (Super friendly Dogs who guard the place)
Nitin who runs this property is great. He attempts to engage with all the guests on personal level and anybody wanting to explore around will get tons of info from him. Chat with him for 15 mts & you'll be sorted for places to see in Kumaon for next 5 years.
On the whole this is an excellent place to stay whether you are with family, with friends or even if travelling solo. Drive up on you next holiday & take in the nature.

Our stay at Mystic Mountains Camps was excellent. The Himalayas view is unbelievable. The owner Mr Nitin was there and his personal attention to all the guests was exceptional. He is a store house of knowledge on Kumoun history. We loved every bit of our stay close to Jageshwar which is one of the 12 jyoti lingas. The Mitrunjaya temple and the AARTI in evening was mesmerising. The added attraction is Thyson who takes you to the walks in the hills and is a pet.
