We spend a long weekend here each spring, it is beautiful!! We've been doing this for about 10 years now, and look forward to it throughout the year. There have been a lot of renovations over the past couple of years, and I think they have completed remodeling everything. Staff is always very accommodating throughout the resort. Once I got...

It was the resorts off season so didn't get the "full" experience but the resort was clean the staff was wonderful, so friendly. The room was spacious 4 woman two queen beds and we were completely comfortable. The restaurant was serving "limited menu" but everything tasted so fresh. We used the hot tub and the pool, walked the resorts grounds....

Girls weekend at Chesnut Mountain Resort and our stay was enjoyable. The resort is cute and charming and yes, it is older and could use a few updates, but the rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. My girlfriend and I stayed for two nights and both of us slept good both nights. It was great that there was...

We spent three days here skiing after an absence of three years. All the snow was man made because of the relatively warm winter. However, it was adequate, and the trails were well groomed. We chose middle of the week to avoid crowds and were successful. The only downside was that the dining room was closed one evening, but light...

The sites were beautiful this time of the year and I have been to the Galena area many times over the last 30 years, but I always stayed at grandmas house in town. I always wanted to stay at the resort because I did a lot of skiing and ice fishing. When I finally did stay at Chestnut resort I...

Chestnut Mountain is great for us "flatlanders" stuck in the Midwest, but still love to ski. I grew up skiing here, now my 3 young daughters learned here. We have done both private and group lessons for the kids, and the teachers are friendly and effective. After a morning of lessons, my pre-k daughter was a confident skier. They have...

First time here, stayed over the new years eve weekend. Where to begin...we stayed in a room on the 4th floor, not a big deal but when you carry bags, snowboarding gear, a baby up four flights because there's no elevator be ready for a workout. The room was disappointing as well. The wifi sucked. The room faced the awesome hills skiers...

Kids and I stayed in pet room with our dog. The room was clean. We did not use TV as we were so busy having fun skiing. The room smelled of air freshener. Yuck! The bed was like a trampoline every time one person moved everyone bounced around. Perhaps kids like that I do not. The fast food was ok,...

In case you were wondering, I didn't die. The bunny and rookie hills are pretty easy. The next step up, which is still a green hill was pretty steep, lots of nice folks all over the place to ski around. fortunately, i didn't run over any small children this time. might go back here if i can get someone to...

For the midwest, not bad slopes but would be hard to spend much more than a day without wishing for a bit more variety. Was a great place for most of my novice family and a first time skier (daughter's boyfriend) to develop basic skills. Beautiful area and wonderful sunset over the Mississippi river!
