Stayed for graduation weekend so paid escalated rates, which were cheaper than other in town hotels. Room was large and clean and good location. Service was poor. Asked for room to be cleaned 3 times and it never happened. Understand short staffed, but when paying 5 star rates and have to ask a day in advance, would have appreciated having the room cleaned once during our 5 day stay.
Greatest location! I travel to Chicago weekly, looking for hotel that has it all. Although not downtown Chicago, I prefer north suburbs. I absolutely love the location, walk to Northwestern, bike to downtown Chicago. 30-50 restaurants within walking distance. Staff is friendly, especially Roger B, and Mary. Great staff with great attitude!
I went with a friend; we had two rooms and checked in separately. We both had a nice check in experience and the fellow behind the desk was very nice and super helpful. Angela was nice too. The third person I met at the desk (hexagonal glasses, sedentary, big eye-roller) was very difficult. The usual things you ask for at this kind of hotel--can I get an extra key?, where is breakfast served? How do I get to the pool?--are a bridge too far. Punch line is my friend and I didn't talk about it till we left; he called her the eye-roller, and said when she was there, the security guard (nice too) was his only hope. My friend said he just tried to save his questions or requests for when eye-roller with hexagonal glasses was on break or off-duty.
This stay was prompted by a job relocation to my beloved hometown of Chicago, this hotel was my home for nearly 80 nights. The staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful especially Roger B and Tigist. They along with sales manager Kyrstal were great in providing help whenever I need it. It was a great stay and I will always be grateful for the assistance given as I attempted to find my "forever new home".
The desk staff is outstanding especially Reena. We stayed 2 weeks visiting our new and first grandson. The staff remained personally attentive even though a bus load of the Syracuse girls basketball team was also visiting for a tournament at Northwestern.
This is the 3rd time I have booked a room for my friends visiting town. Tigis seems to be there all the time and she is a great help and so nice. Compared to the other location in Skokie, this Evanston Holiday INN'S rooms seem more newly renovated, after Best Western used to be there. The rooms and bathrooms are really nice!
I recently stayed at this Holiday Inn for several nights, and although my 10th floor room was very nice, the front desk staff at the hotel are very rude (when they're actually there!). I crossed paths with about five different front desk staff during my stay, and with the exception of one, the rest were very rude and impatient when I asked them questions. If I asked for clarification about parking rules or charges, they all got irritated very quickly. While the hotel is conveniently located, and I have no complaints about the room, the front desk staff could benefit from learning some basic customer courtesy.
In Evanston often and always stay here. Easy walk to lake, Northwestern and many restaurants. Pay extra for the view of downtown. Service is great and Tigist is a standout employee. Great value if you just want one room and don't need a suite.
Thank you. This Adam Lee Hecht. I appreciate it. I'm waiting for my fiance. Holy Romantic Wedding. Romantic Honeymoon Antalya, Turkiye. Turkiye Romantic. I love my fiance and she love me. Thank you. Adam Lee Hecht Nummer Eins
The staff were very personable, friendly, and helpful, especially Tigist. This hotel is in a good location, convenient to various neighborhoods as well as to Northwestern University, and at a surprisingly good price. The staff seemed to task masking and Covid protocols seriously and I felt safe; I wish that I could remember all of their names. The room was clean, with a decent view.
