My husband and I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Evanston for my daughter’s 7th birthday, along with our younger daughter who is 5. We wanted to stay somewhere that had a pool, restaurants/shops/nightlife accessible and also close access to the beach. We found all of this when we stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn! I really can’t say enough great things about this hotel. First: the location. It’s situated one block away from downtown Evanston, one of the best neighborhoods in the state of IL. There are limitless things to do and places to eat with the kids. Second: the hotel staff. They were so kind and accommodating! Cathy at the front desk knew it was my daughters birthday, wished her a happy birthday, and gave both my daughters a free treat to celebrate. There was always a staff member around to help, from someone servicing the pool to the guy that helped me get complimentary coffee in the lobby. Just a pleasure! They were so helpful and happy to help, I got the sense of being part of one big family while we were staying there. Third: the room. It was so clean with so many thoughtful component included to make our stay more comfortable. The were communications posted throughout the room notifying us of when/how the room was sanitized. All the complimentary toiletries were upscale and there was enough for my whole family. There’s just so many positive things about this hotel, a true gem, if you are looking for something in this area, it’s everything you are looking for and more. …
Great hotel in Evanston for Northwestern families! The Front Desk staff is the best! Hotel is up to date and comfortable. Close to lake, train, restaurants & campus. Great farmers market on Saturdays behind hotel.
This Hilton Garden Inn is a very comfortable choice, well located near the heart of Evanston and Northwestern University. While it does not have its own parking lot, there is a public lot adjacent to the facility which provides in and out service for Hilton Garden Inn guests. The room and amenities were good and there was a small dining room which prepared a very good breakfast at a decent price.
If you take the 250 Pace bus from O'Hare Airport ($2.25) it drops you off at the Davis CTA Station about one block away from this nice hotel in Evanston, IL. From there you can ride transit to pretty much anywhere in Evanston and Chicago. The hotel is clean and nice with big rooms. Northwestern University, Clark Street Beach, Noyes Cultural Arts Center and lots of shops and restaurants are within easy walking distance.
This is a nice Hilton Garden Inn that’s in a good location in Evanston. It’s a short walk to Northwestern University with restaurants and shops all around the hotel. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. At the back door of hotel, (literally just a few steps!) there is a Northwestern University ground parking lot which you can park in for free from Friday evening thru Monday morning. Permits are required M-F during business hours only at this lot. I recommend staying here and will definitely stay here again on our next visit.
Stayed here on quick one night stay in Evanston. This is my preferred location when in town. This property is clean and offers a great stay. I elected to eat breakfast here the next morning and was satisfied. Their was a kind lady who was serving each person due to C19 and not wanting large gatherings. There was also a cheif cooking hot items like eggs, omelette etc. the rooms was clean as always, beds comfortable. Their is also a large parking garage for vehicles. This location served its purpose greatly
We had 3 rooms for a weekend. Front desk was great in getting the rooms close together. Also were able to get a late checkout as flight was not leaving until 5pm. Small fee for it however worth it. Rooms were fine, staff helpful, pool was great. Parking was free due to snowfall in Evanston. Walked to restaurants in the area. We will be back.
Stayed here during a horrible ice storm. Jamie at the front desk was friendly and professional and the room was clean and the beds were so comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone passing through.
Was incredibly disappointed with the stay. Room, even after upgrade to jr suite was mediocre at best. Picked due to location and "Pet-friendly" which apparently only means dogs. To say there's a restaraunt is totally misleading, there's not. The staff wasn't helpful at all watched me struggle to get my elderly parents and their suitcase in the door and didn't help at all, just told me to "push harder" while trying to get over the threshhold. Lots of nice hotels in Evanston. Stay somewhere else!
We prepaid 1350 for the room on the Hilton website 10 days before the stay. Upon checking in they should have held only incidentals on the card. Instead they held 1600 dollars. So this would make the stay 3000 dollars! When we pointed out the mistake with the front desk and then the manager, we were told that was how they do this. When the charges did not drop off upon check out I called and spoke to the manager. He didn’t apologize until I told him to and finally admitted that we shouldn’t have been charged. He said he would call my bank to get the charges removed but that was 24 hours ago and the charges are still held on my card.
