I booked a room with Lexington Inn and Suites NW Chicago Elgin for one night stay on 10/22/21. When my partner and I arrived the property looked nothing like the pictures on the booking site, the pictures are clearly outdated; likely from a time when the hotel was under different management. We also learned upon arrival that they did not offer breakfast although their website says they do. When we got to our room we found there were large stains all over the sheets (see picture) and hair in the bed. Clearly the bedding had not been cleaned, the sheets had not been changed. We immediately went back down to the desk to ask for clean sheets and they told us they could not provide us with different (clean) sheets... so then they offered us a different room, I said that was fine “I just want clean sheets.” When we got to the new room we were disappointed, it was just as bad. There were stains and a cigarette burn on the bedding and white stains on the furniture in the room. We went back down to the desk and spoke to the manager, who said all they could do for us was offer to have us take a look at another room. After seeing two rooms in a row that we could not sleep in due to the state of the bedding and and unsettling stains on the furniture, I said all I want is a clean place to sleep but it doesn’t seem like they can offer that. I showed the front desk staff pictures of the bedding in the rooms they had given us and asked if he would want to sleep there and he agreed it was unacceptable. My partner and I left the hotel disappointed, we just couldn’t stay there, we cut our trip short and drove home at 10:30pm rather than stay in that filth. Before we left I asked the manager for a number to call to request a refund, he said there is no number, there are no refunds. I asked for a number to call to complain about the conditions of the hotel, he said I don’t know you booked online you tell me. I understand there is a no refund policy but we did not get what was promised online when we booked. We could not even stay there due to the conditions of the rooms. I feel I have been scammed. If you do decide to stay here also be warned when we pulled up there were multiple shadow characters hanging out in the parking lot. Right after leaving I called the site I booked through and told them about my experience, I didn’t want anyone else to call for this scam, and they offered to call the hotel and request an exception to the no refund policy. They called me back a few minutes later and said the manager was not in when they called and they would call again on Monday... we had just spoken to the manager 10 minutes ago at the hotel. I’m not saying don’t book here, but if you do book here do not expect what is shown in the photos. Do not expect a clean room or even clean bedding. I would recommend you bring some disinfectant spray and try not to think about where the different yellow and white stains came from. And don’t expect your money back even when they flat out tell you they can’t offer you a clean place to sleep.…
We booked through the Hotel Tonight app for a quick, cheap place to stay. Two hours prior to check-in we were driving through the area on our way from Minneapolis to Chicago and we kindly approached the staff member behind the front counter if we could quickly use a common area bathroom, but our request was denied and we were told we couldn't do anything until we checked in two hours from that moment. A curse word was used in a small verbal argument over the situation and the staff member told us we were not welcome to stay that night. We respected their demands and called later at night to request a refund. We were told to call the next day to speak to a manager, but after countless phone calls to the hotel over multiple days we are told they don't know when the manager will be in and they refuse to give us a manager's name or phone number. We were charged for the entirety of the stay as they marked us as a "no show," and Hotel Tonight said they cannot do anything about the matter. From the reviews I read, this place is more than a disaster and they put customer service on the backburner.…
UPDATE: After trying to get my money back for my 20 minute stay - the time in which it took me to find another hotel - Lexington Inn management is refusing the request because we stayed longer than 10 minutes. This is absolutely unacceptable. Will be contacting the BBB immediately. OP: We needed a hotel in a pinch and found this after a quick google search - the pictures looked fine, but upon arrival we knew it was a disaster. The entire hallway was filled with cigarette smoke, and the room stunk of stale cigarettes. The bathroom was disgusting. We left after 20 minutes.
This is the worst hotel I have booked. Avoid! The check-in process was far below disappointing. The lady was rude and was on speakerphone while checking me in. There was no greeting. Not even a simple “thank you”. The room was a disaster. Mold in the tub, stains on the bench, pillow cases that weren’t exchanged, discolored towels, desk lamp didn’t work, no soaps, filthy carpeting, and a very foul smell. I decided to checkout and reserved a room at the Mainstay in Hoffman Estates. The difference was incomparable.
Please stay clear from this place . Not only is this place dirty and scummy but they will try to scam you . When checking in they ask me for my phone number which I found really suspicious. After I checked out two days later which was a Wednesday I received a call from them on Friday claiming I did $500 worth of damage to their property to their dumpster in which I did not . Ask for photos but they refused to send them . I did not pay . Stay away from this place .
Disgusting. Found blood on toilet seat. Staff could care less. Dirty facility. Showed us another room and found fesces on toilet. Manager would not inspect room. We left as soon as possible i would not recommend this hotel
We booked a suite and all of the furniture has suspicious stains. There was a literal ring of filth in the bathtub. I would be amazed if any cleaning was done aside from changing the sheets. This Inn is overpriced, under cleaned, and overall the service is poor.

Pillow was comfortable. Nice and clean rooms the motel is right by I-90 The staff was friendly and very peaceful I really loved the entrance of the lobby as you can see it in the picture I provided very happy to go back again.
As long as you accept if for what it is, a cheap place to sleep, you will be fine. The no smoking policy is obviously not followed or enforced, the room wreaked of smoke. No water pressure in the shower and the tub drain was backed up.
