Our non-smoking room wreaked of cigarette smoke, and no other rooms were available. There was a party of about 20 bikers just outside the entryway to the hotel, drinking and blasting music until past 1 in the morning - we couldn’t sleep. In the morning, there were people smoking cigarettes right at the entryway, with smoke coming in the building. There did’t appear to be enough staff to address either the partying at night or the smoking by the lobby. I felt badly for the staff. This was really a dreadful experience.
I stayed for five days and found the bed comfortable, the room clean and the AC good. I used the little fridge and the microwave, and never missed the tub as I shower. Has an in-room coffee pot, and they have the breakfast room, but I used it only to grab a muffin or a cup of coffee on the way past. It was a little noisy on the holiday weekend, but nice and quiet the rest of the week. It the view of the brick wall of the church beside us made it so that I felt free to have my curtains open more. Also used the laundry room, and the desk was happy to make change.
Your paying for a great experience without tapping out your wallet. We have stayed at numerous choice hotels and despite this ones appearance, the staff try and make your stay accommodating. Look for the evening with warm cookies, coffee and popcorn!
Traveling through and stayed for an overnight. We stayed in Room 101, we had a nice room with a king bed. The hotel was recently remodeled. Our room only had a shower so if you are looking for a tub you need another room.
We reserved two rooms. One with a king, one with 2 beds. No difference in price when making the reservation. When checking out the room with 2 beds was almost $20 more per night. Staff would not make any changes or correct
Ida, the clerk was really GREAT!! We had my mother & she is 90. They were able to put on the first floor. We had our own rooms just a few doors apart. My Mother's was a handicap room as she uses a walker. Our's had a king size bed. Both rooms were clean, quiet & comfortable. The breafast was good & had food available. I would recommend staying there. I was so please, that my wife & I are staying at a Quality in in Grinnell, Ia. for two nights during the last week in June.
When I walked in every one was very helpful. Maintenance came right away because I didn’t have a remote for the TV. After we went to bed we (my 90 year old mom and myself) can hear the desk help laughing and talking very loud about us. Then some guy keeps walking past the door talking loudly,”hey you in bed already, it’s only 9:00, you in there, you in bed.” Then in the room next to us the same thing. Then in the hall again until 10:00 or later. The lady at the desk that helped us was the one egging him on. I won’t even talk about all the crap my dog found to eat off the floor. I also think there was someone living in a car in the parking lot. There was someone in a running car every time I took the dog out the whole time we were there.
Hotel was convenient. Staff was great. We were treated with awesome customer service. Breakfast was good as well. Comfortable rooms. Overall the hotel was clean. The only drawback is that they don't have an indoor pool.
This hotel is nothing fancy but is high on value and has a great staff. It’s easy to access off the tollway. Not real convenient as far as restaurants and shopping, but not too bad. The rooms are clean and comfortable. the complimentary breakfast is pretty good. I thought the common spaces were a little too warm. They are in the midst of some room refitting so things were a little noisy when we arrived, but all that was gone long before bedtime. It’s a great value overall.
Good location and breakfast. Friendly staff and easy check in and check out. Room was comfortable except for the musty and smoky smell when the heater was on. I couldn’t switch rooms as the hotel was full but just didn’t run the heater much so it was ok.
