Michael (Mike) at the front desk was very welcoming and really helped make our stay enjoyable. Our room was clean and it was close to the parking lot. But it would not be accessible to someone in a wheelchair or with limited mobility as you have to take stairs to the room, and I believe all the 2-bedroom rooms are on the second floor. Also, the second bedroom is a loft that overlooks the family room, so there is no way to isolate noise from the first floor, living room, kitchen and that bedroom. Breakfast was okay but nothing spectacular. The hotel was very convenient to everywhere we wanted to visit and we could consider staying again if we were in this area.
My family was here on a long-term medical stay, so obviously our reasons for being here were not exactly great. But if I could give a rating of six or seven, I would. First, the accomodations. We had a two-bedroom suite for a three-month stay and while we were a little nervous about staying in a hotel for that long, it really felt homey. We had more than enough space so we didn't feel like we were on top of each other, and our daughter had her own space (The 2nd bedroom is a loft-type of space, so there isn't a door, but there is a separate bathroom for anyone who stays up there). It's a full kitchen and we cooked A LOT here and always had enough space to do what we needed to do. It really feels like an apartment and not a hotel room. And it was very quiet with very view intrusions in terms of noise that you can often get in a regular hotel. And those concerned about COVID, this is an Inn setup -- you don't have to go through the lobby or ride an elevator to get to your room -- we went up one flight of stairs and had a separate entrance to our room (again, like an apartment), which helped us rest easier during the pandemic. But as much as the room was nice, the staff here is what really made us feel at home. The two managers - Efrain and Michael - were simply amazing. And worked all the time! Like a lot of places, the hotel is short-staffed, but you would never know it, largely because of the efforts of these two. As the Christmas approached, both had worked 18-20 days in a row to make sure other staff got the time off they deserved. Now THAT'S dedication. And any time we needed anything, they were there for us. Rodrigo, the engineer, was seemingly everywhere all the time and any time something was up with our room, he was there immediately to look into it and/or repair it. These are people who really care about their work, about customer service, about making sure those staying here feel at home. And from our vantage point, that mission was 100 pct accomplished. Our reasons for having to be here were not good, but I would stay here again in a heartbeat and would highly recommend it for anyone passing through or needing a long-term place to stay.…
This is the first time our family has had a long-term hotel stay. We are one week in and I couldn’t be more pleased with our experience here! We have a 2-bed, 2-bath suite that very much feels like a home. I wish they had these everywhere we travel. I assume it has been renovated, but the updates were done well, especially the bathrooms. I have interacted with staff members from the front desk, maintenance, and housekeeping, and they have all been exceptional. Any small issue has been quickly taken care of in a kind, friendly manner. The place felt clean upon arrival and housekeeping did a fantastic job making it feel so fresh again on cleaning day. Oh, and everyone has been properly masked. There is a coin laundry, which I would prefer something that takes a card, but it gets the job done. Breakfast is limited, of course, but very well organized. This place is a perfect mix of old-school hospitality with some modern elements. The layout feels like a little village and even the other guests have been very friendly. I’m so, so glad we decided to go with Residence Inn due to location instead of our original Airbnb plan. I would drive even further to stay here. With the popularity of Airbnb, Marriott should really consider investing even more in this hotel model!…
If you want a 2BR with 2 bathroom room at a reasonable price, then this is the place for you. Only 20 minute drive to ORD. Nice and safe location. Suite was spacious with a full kitchen. The 2nd "room" was actually a loft on the 2nd floor with its own bathroom. There is a pull-out bed in the living room sofa for a 5th person. Complimentary breakfast was only ok, but it kept this place from getting 5 starts. It consisted of only cereal, breads, and fruits. There was nothing hot like sausage, bacon, waffles, pancakes, etc... I'd probably stay here again anyway.
This was my first hotel stay since the pandemic. I wasn't sure what to expect, however, the Marriott chain has never disappointed me. I got a suite that had a microwave, fridge, dishwasher and stove. It also had a cutting board, silverware and dishes. I also saw some cooking utensils, however, there was no knife or scissors in the unit and no pots or pans for cooking. The hot breakfast consisted of a buffet of pre-packaged items including breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal and yogurt. The milk, although not expired, was sour and curdled (I didn't tell management). I'm not a fan of breakfast sandwiches so I didn't bother with breakfast for the rest of my stay. Bed and bathroom were clean and bright.
It’s a very good hotel I was on business trip & stayed for a long time.Fully Equiped kitchen & good rooms. Service was exceptional specially the Manager Erfian, He went extra mile to give good service. Will sure stay again there if i go again in Northbrook
Our room was like a studio apartment & very comfortable, especially since we were there almost a week. Clean & stylish. Coffee maker & lots more in the kitchen. Nice outdoor area with pool. Two things to know - no hot breakfast, only continental during this prolonged Covid period. They did have fresh fruit. Secondly, seems 1/2 the people are living here on an on-going basis. A bit strange, but were not scary people so we were ok with it. The Whitehall Nursing Home is in front of the property so would be great for out of towners visiting loved ones in rehab or nursing care. We would stay there again.
Above average Residence Inn layout, with a dozen separate buildings each with 8 suites. This means no elevators to get your stuff to the second floor, but that didn't bother us as much as an elderly woman we met. Room was long and narrow, with a functioning little kitchen, a nice sitting area with a worktable, and a comfortable bed. The bathroom was clean and had adequate shower pressure. The air conditioning was efficient and not terribly noisy. The hotel is away from other commercial areas and is very quiet. The continental breakfast was pitiful with no hot food, minimal choices, and you had to request coffee at the front desk. There is a strange deposit policy where we were required to put a $250 damage deposit on the room. I have never seen this in a major hotel chain establishment before. There were warnings against parties also, or too many people in the room. I guess they must have gotten burned in the past.…
The best part of my stay was the accommodating and friendly staff. They let me check in very, very early and check out very, very late, and were overall just eager to be helpful. The king studios are larger and better laid out than those in other Residence Inns. Although it’s a studio, you can’t see the kitchen or bathroom from the bed, and the living room feels like an actual living room. The kitchen is up to date. Getting water that wasn’t too hot or too cold in the shower was a little tricky, but overall I was very pleased and will likely stay here again.
I had a long term stay in this location 4 months to be precise. The hygiene and cleanliness was five star and the rooms were serviced 3 times a week especially during Covid-19 .The staff Mr Lou and the associates were ever willing to assist and make the stay a very memorable and comfortable like home. The property being close to the Metra,Super Market and restaurants is an advantage.
