Had a lovely one night stay, excellent cooked breakfast with a huge choice on the Cold Buffet table which was packed with lovely produce from the Chatsworth estate. We had booked a petit room and was worried this would be cramped but it was well appointed and very comfortable. Evening meal was tasty and served promptly by the polite staff....

We had a lovely stay at the Devonshire arms. Perfect place for visiting chatsworth and long walks. Lovely room and wonderful food, but not cheap! This was a birthday treat for my husbands 30th so worth it though.

We'd expected an old-fashioned pub welcome and we didn't get it. Apart from Jack being very helpful, we got the impression no-one was in charge and the majority of the staff were young, untrained and with a distinct lack of customer care (when another guest asked about walking nearby it was suggested he look on the computer with the member...

We stopped for food here before visiting Chatsworth House. Having coeliac disease means my meals need to be gluten free and I was over the moon to find an extensive GF menu including deserts! The staff were helpful and were able to advise on the GF options. We had mains and were full but, unable to miss out on dessert...

The welcome was warm and efficient. We had a room in the 'Farm'. Do not be put off that it is not part of the main inn, it is only a few yard away. The room was large, more of a Junior Suite with sofa and armchair in separate sitting area and a massive, well appointed bathroom. High quality tea,...

I imagine this delightfully located village pub was once full of character, so it was disappointing to find the heart and soul of it has been ripped out and replaced with some bright architect's idea of modern decor. Functional yes, but about as memorable as a Tesco cafe. Our four poster bedroom could best be described as "compact" with no...

As a family we booked three double rooms, one in the pub and two in the the farm house. We specifically booked a ground floor room for my parents in law due to mobility issues, however upon checking in we were told that they had double booked the ground floor room! The young man at the reception was very apologetic...

We went for Dinner Two of the party went for the vegetarian sausages, they were tasteless and poor value To make up we had ice cream and were rewarded with 2 tiny scoops to make matters worse I had Bakewell tart which being so close to Bakewell should be good but it was all pastry and dry. On the positive...

Stayed here for one night with friends when visiting nearby Chatsworth House. Firstly, let me say that it does have good points, a great location, friendly staff and decent food in the restaurant, although we weren't shown the "specials board" and I didn't notice it until breakfast the following morning. The breakfast was above average and the bedrooms were all...

Hi, Thank you for your feedback. We had a boiler breakdown which I am very sorry to say clearly impacted your stay. Please accept my apologies for this. The boiler has now been replaced and the pub is back to being nice and cosy. Thank you once more for your feedback and we hope to welcome you back soon. Kind...

Chaotic! Got off to a bad start, our room was occupied, young man tried to solve the situation, but did it badly, eventually we came down for dinner at 8, after being advised no need to book, and told by the same young man, it was very busy and will be an hour wait for our meal. Not good, so...
