Sterling Corbett hotel is lauded by many for its attentive service and the exceptional hospitality of its staff, who are always ready to cater to guests' needs. While the hotel's serene and picturesque location earns high marks, its remoteness is noted by some travelers. Reviewers enjoy the comfortable atmosphere and the spacious rooms with scenic views, although a few suggest the need for privacy and modern touches.
The amenities, including engaging activities and diverse food options, are well-received, though there is room for enhancement. Guests also commend the hotel's overall cleanliness and find it to offer good value for the experience.

Away from the conglomeration of resorts in Corbett, this one is over 25km away in the village of Marchula. Quiet and peaceful it spreads over a hillside with the jungle at its back doors where one can spot deer, wild boar late evenings and early mornings. And the river in the valley is about a ten minute walk, where one can sit by the clear waters of the Ramganga. The resort offers a nature wallk and a village walk. However the guide is available only if at least two people register. I had to ditch my bird watching/nature walk as I was expected to pay the cost for two, as I was the only one interested. So that was not quite on, I felt.
The resort is a neat, clean, homely place with well appointed rooms. Hotwater is available at all times in the bathrooms.
The food though tended to be a tad disappointing. Breakfast was quite okay, but the other meals unless they are buffets are not up to the mark. Lunch ordered one day by us was a lackadaisical affair with hotch- potch made of the dishes we ordered, including trying to palm off what was left off from the morning's breakfast. As we the only ones for the meal, no effort was made to freshly prepare our order.
Overall the staff is helpful and try to do their best.

Before I start my review wanted to give some background on how we got to the resort. We took a Flight from Mumbai - Delhi and then took a train (Uttar Sampark) from Old delhi railway station and got off at Ramnagar station which is the closest rail head.
The scheduled arrival of the train to Ramnagar was 9 PM but the train was delayed by more than a hour due to which we reached the station at 10:30 PM. When we informed Sterling about our late check-in, they informed us for the first time that entry is not allowed in that area post 10 PM. All we can do is request the police/authority there, else we may need to make our stay arrangements close to Ramnagar. This got us really worked off as we were travelling with an infant with nowhere to go with no food arrangements either. Also, since we were not sure if they will let us pass, we had to take the cab anyway and drive for 30 mins before we even figured whether we will be allowed to carry on further. We ultimately managed to reach the resort as authorities were kind but I felt this should have been informed well in advance. They did ultimately help us book a cab and also arranged for our dinner at 11 PM in our room which is appreciated.
The resort has a great location otherwise though isolated. All rooms have more or less the same mountain views. Food is decent but not great. We did have monkeys all over the place for a couple of days which was a nuisance but otherwise uneventful. The staff did go out of the way to make our stay comfortable.
Things no one will tell you but you need to be aware of:
1. There is a check naka enroute from Ramnagar station to Sterling Corbett resort which doesn't normally let anyone pass through after 10PM, the reason being wild elephants have been spotted due to which they limit vehicle movements in night post 10 PM.
2. The resort although in a beautiful location is very remote and you need to rely on them for every meal. There is nothing in the immediate surrounding.
3. The resort is very far from Dhikala zone or Bijarani zones which are the best for Corbett safari. They charge you a bomb for local taxis for dropping u off and picking u back to the resort. The rates are high irrespective if u book from sterling or outside.
Distance from Sterling Corbett to Dhikala is 15 Kms. They charge almost 3,500 Rs for a pick and drop as most vehicles are from Ramnagar and charge for return fares too.
4. You will easily get a hotel for the amount they charge for transport very close to the zones that you want to visit. So if safari is your only goal and you plan to do it for 2-3 days back to back, I think you should stay elsewhere.

This was our first family trip after the covid pandemic, so we wanted someplace in the lap of nature. We chose Sterling for our stay in corbett and we were happy for our decision. The place is good 35 km from the hustle bustle of corbett and is tucked away in hills with some other resorts. Pure air, pristine Kosi flowing nearby and super helpful staff. There are no decent eateries around, so we relied on Hotel Restaurant for all 3 days for good clean hygenic food. They will go extra mile to make you happy and see your kids smiling. The Restaurant staff Nitish, Jitender, Himanshu, Diwakar, Lalit, all were super helpful and courteous. They gracefully went about their duties. I think a little add to food variety will definitely help. And no papaya halwa plz ;)

I along with my friend searched lot of resort in Jim corbett and based upon the review we planned to stay for one night as we planned to go further till Almora and wanted to break our journey in between and experience the hospitality. Welcome In hotel was an average one person doing temp check and check in formalities both. Food was average and served in disposable plastic plates and aluminium box mostly used for take away purpose. We understand there is corona time and if you are compromising on the service then reduce your food and service charges accordingly . Tea served in paper glasses like you are served in roadside dhabas .
Avg service from the staff with no smile on face and everybody seems to be in hurry . Could see lot of groups checked in specially young boys and girls may be its a popular resort among them but when you allot rooms you do in such away that mid age couples and families are kept seperate floors as it's understood that those in groups are here for fun and we need more of peaceful time but it was hay wire . Room management and allocation were poor.
Worst was yet to come when we went to sleep around 11pm when suddenly around 12 am in night we could here people laughing , cracking jokes and make noises in common areas and their were around 7-8 young boys and girls having dinner and drinks in this common area and not bothered that their are other guest in rooms who were trying to sleep . When it didn't stop I had to personally request them to keep their volume low but in vain it all started in 15mins again.
Then finally I had request the duty manager to intervene but I guess they also took it lightly. This went on for another 02hours and around 2am I had literally warn duty manager in case they are not able to handle the situation then let me do it my away and this time they did took it seriously and finally it was quite by 2:30am . We had to leave early next morning hence our stay became more hectic then relaxing.
Some positives :
1.Rooms are spacious
2.Valley View rooms have good views
3.Restaurent service is much better plan to keep ur dine out in this place.

Amazing Location, Great Food, and Excellent Service have been the hallmarks of this resort tucked away in a valley with a relaxing panoramic view of the Ramganga river. My apprehensions regarding the prudence of venturing out of the safe confines of my city home were dispelled by the the efforts made by the GM Mr. Jha, Mr. Joshi, Mr. Bhaskar and their team at the resort to ensure the safety and comfort of all the guests. Kudos to the entire team. Sterling Corbett remains my favorite place to unwind and holiday.

Went to sterling resort during a weekend of heavy demand. Paid a bomb for booking during that period and expected a 3 star resort (as advertised). However it hardly gave the impression of one. Old dirty broken furniture (in picture), choking drains, non functional gadgets, dirty sink. It felt more like a budget hotel rather than a 3 star one. The wifi doesn't work anywhere except the reception and restaurant. And since it's in a remote location with poor access to mobile data, we were totally dependent on their wifi for connectivity (Only jio and bsnl work there). And to make matters worse their IT dep has blocked access to good chunk of websites especially travel ones (including trip advisor). I couldn't even access science website like nature.com.
Other points of interest.
Location - Merchula is remotely located (a good one hour drive from ramnagar) which may be a good thing if u want to spend a peaceful time without too much roaming around. But if your main aim is to visit corbett then it's not the best place to be. No jeep safari guy will pick u up from there. You'll have to drive to the gate of permit on your own.
Food - Homely. That may sound like a compliment to some and criticism to others. Take your pick. But remember that there are no alternatives due to the remote location.
And now to the good part, the staff. I saw a zeal and a good intent in their approach. Pramod at reception went out of the way to solve my grievances. Unfortunately there is a limit to how much they can help without the same approach from people running the show in the background.

Booked this amazing property for a short stay.
Undoubtedly, the rooms were beautiful. Wooden work, right light. Sofas and table for those looking to carry on with their WFH or work from Corbett.
✅Perfect furniture for WFH
✅Awesome Ambience
✅Right in the heart of the hills overlooking the river.
✅Spa, Games Room and Terrace Area for recreation
✅Adventure Sports at beginner’s level available at the Resort itself
❎Wifi signal poor in rooms, use your phone’s data. Jio works nicely.
❎ Food didn’t appeal to us.
(The guys even spared our dinner when after consuming three different meals in time span of 5 hrs we could only say, it’s just not good.)
Highly recommend to go out and eat if you are a foodie.
For everything else, stay at this incredible resort.
The staff is high on politeness and hospitality.
To provide you the best possible experience, they would go leaps and bounds.
Breakfast and dinner buffet were nice in terms of spread but it didn’t match our tastebuds. Found food bland.
Apart from that, it’s the perfect place to stay at Corbett.
Ramnagar is approximately 10km away. So an hour’s drive to and from the property.
