In October 2022 myself and my wife visited Chicago as part of me running the Marathon. The hotel was really easy to find only being a few minutes walk from the nearest station. Staff were really helpful and our room was really clean and had lots of facilities. Although not in the centre of the City it is very easy to travel around and there are lots of local facilities to match your needs. Turns out that the Marathon route also runs directly past the hotel. We were over the moon with our choice and felt the hotel was also very reasonable priced. Would definately recommend using this hotel if you are visiting.
We booked this hotel with no prior knowledge and it turned out to be a nice surprise. Very clean, modern, sleek hotel right in the heart of China Town. The reason for the trip was to see a concert at Radius. That venue is within walking distance of the Jaslin Hotel. Check in is a rather late 4 pm but by 1:30p we were able to access our room. If you need to get in sooner, I would suggest you try and arrange that when you book. The room was nice, we had a great view onto the street, the bed was very comfy and I appreciated that the elevators would not operate without first swiping a key card. Having to insert that keycard in order to get full electricity to the room was a new one on me, though! There were plenty of nearby restaurants and the two we chose were excellent. I was surprised that the front desk staff did not have a recommendation but went straight to Google when we asked for a suggestion. I would recommend the hotel if you have a need to be in that part of town.…
Disappointed with the service. Rude receptionists. Unhelpful to guests. Take note there is no housekeeping. Spoilt an otherwise potentially good stay. The room was quite decent with good facilities. Found it difficult coming from another country.
Started out with a good room with a great view of Chicago, and halfway through our stay our bathroom light stopped working. The maintenance man was very nice, but we got moved to a room with a crappy view of a water tower out the back. Hotel wouldn’t discount a night or give even a slight upgrade for having to pack up and move to a worse room halfway through our stay.
Its always a little scary booking a hotel at a lower rate in a big city. The Jaslin hotel did not disappoint. We pulled up, checked in, and had immediate help unloading all our things. The hotel was clean, staff extremely friendly, beds were comfy. No breakfast was served, that I know of. There is a sitting area with a relaxing fireplace in the lobby. Parking is a block away. $16 a day and right next to the L. 3-4 minute walk. There were a few people on the street asking for money, mainly at night. We never felt unsafe walking to our car. Day or night. Its a great place to stay if you want to explore China town. Everything is walkable. Would definitely stay again
I booked a room at this hotel because of the positive reviews and I was not disappointed. The rate I got was pretty good. If you book online via the hotel's website, you can save some money. I actually called and talked to someone at the hotel because on one day, we had 2 people staying and on another day, we had 3 people staying (because my husband was flying in to join us later) and the rates were different depending on the number of people staying. This is standard procedure in some European countries, so I wasn't completely shocked. The room we had was small, but clean. Because of COVID, we were told there wouldn't be any housekeeping and if we needed anything (like towels), we could come to the front desk. We didn't have a great view, like one of the other reviews we had read, but I did like the location. The hotel is located on the edge of Chinatown, so there are many restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk. There is also a metro station that is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel, in the Chinatown parking lot. In fact, we parked our car there for 2 nights. I was a little worried about somebody breaking into it, as it is a surface lot, but no such thing happened. In fact, there are lots of cars parked in the lot at any one time. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. I LOVE the location!…
Jaslin hotel is situated on the edge of China town about a 15 mins walk from the McCormick Centre. Hotel is fine. Rooms are plain but clean, the set ionic the rooms are not optimal but gives everything you need. Staff are responsible enough but not proactive. It was good enough for what I needed which was a fair price hotel within walking distance from the McCormick centre.
This has had a facelift. The lobby and facade look great. The rooms are smaller and a bit tired but spotlessly clean. The fitness room is an afterthought. I wouldn't stay here for a holiday but for business it is fine. No breakfast but Starbucks is next door. The location is great. In Chinatown for endless good restaurants. 15mins walk to McCormick Centre for events (avoiding the traffic). 15min taxi to the centre of Chicago.
I attended a meeting at McCormick Place for a week. I sought a reasonable, safe hotel within walking distance. Jaslin Hotel is a new structure, neatly constructed, with elevators. I was in 207 with a queen bed facing Cermak Road. The bed was comfortable. I slept well. I was not awoken by sounds from the hotel or the street. There was a refrigerator where I stored perishable items to eat. There was no stove or microwave. A coffee maker was in the room. Sevings of caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee and two tea servings were provided daily. Shampoo-conditioner, lotion, and hand soap were provided daily. An iron and ironing board were in the closet. A comforter was in the closet. There was a shower without handrails. The hotel has no restaurant. Several stores mainly with Chinese foods were nearby. There are safes in each closet. I walked to and from McCormick Place two or three times daily. That was fine. I would be reluctant to walk when ice and snow are present because there were some irregularities in the curbs and sidewalks. The hotel is in Chinatown. The red line metro is a couple of blocks away. The green line metro to Midway Airport is a few blocks away. The hotel is closer to Midway than to O'Hare. This is a fine, safe hotel for budget travelers.…
I wasn't aware of how far the parking lot was from the hotel when I booked it. To make matters worse we arrived on a cold rainy day. The parking was cheap for Chicago but I could have definitely done without the walk. The hotel itself is fine. There are many restaurants close by and China Town is right there.
