LondonHouse Chicago, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, garners high praise for its sophisticated atmosphere and modern, stylish rooms, according to guests. Many travelers enjoy the hotel's central location, close to prime shopping and attractions, and appreciate the beautiful river views and cleanliness, despite some finding the rooms on the smaller side. While the rooftop bar's ambiance and exceptional service are frequently highlighted, the value is sometimes questioned due to the additional costs for amenities. Noise can be an issue, but it doesn't detract from the overall luxury experience.

My husband and I stayed at the LondonHouse Chicago for our wedding anniversary. Even though things are different now because of Covid, LondonHouse did a great job of making us feel safe (everyone was wearing masks, they had stickers on the ground of where to stand), the room was clean (even the remotes were wrapped in plastic to let you know they were just sanitized), and Juan advised and helped me with my reservations to make it an unforgettable night. We had cocktails and an appetizer on the roof top and then went to Ocean Prime for dinner. The view from the rooftop was amazing and so was the shrimp cocktail and drinks. The service was also amazing! The hotel is filled with genuinely kind, thoughtful, and cheerful staff throughout. We will definitely be coming back. Thanks again LondonHouse for a wonderful quick getaway to celebrate my anniversary. It was perfect:)

Upon entering the establishment you get a warm welcoming from the valet staff. As you proceed to the elevator or stairs to take you to the lobby you pass thru many sanitizing stations which made me feel comfortable, you make that left to the elevators and see an array of BEAUTIFULLY decorated trees. The front desk is amazing, not even letting me get to the front desk before acknowledging one. Very present and content as well as confident. I may be a very bit needy so I did request a couple more pillows and towels for my room, not even 10 minutes for the staff to bring the items up. I am a traveler and frequent different hotels on every staycation and travel. I must say this staff has urgency, hospitality, customer service served with a smile, & pride in what they do. This day in age it’s hard to find staff with one or any of these qualities. For everyone to be on the same page with one another shows how their training and management cares foe them. A huge thank you to Kevin, Grace, Bess I believe it is I apologize if I screwed that up she is the overnight manager. The team of managers and staff speaks volume to what a Hilton only represents, I was a lucky one to have encountered such wonderful oras. Thank you to everyone at the LondonHouse. It’s been a pleasure to stay and trust me when I say I will be coming back. You guys have the spot to where I will be spending every staycation at now. Sending much love to you & your families.

- Happy Holidays

Sincerely,

Luis M.

I’ve been wanting to stay here and was finally able to thanks to a mistake by American Airlines causing me to miss my connecting flight at O’Hare. Rather than stay at an Inn the airline was paying for, I decided to take the Blue line into the city and stay here.

Upon check-in, the helpful woman noticed my
Hilton Honors status and upgraded my room to one one that wasn’t available an hour earlier when making the reservation online- thank you so much!

I had a great view onto Michigan Avenue at Wacker, the Wrigley Building, Tribune Tower and a partial view of the architecturally magnificent building across the river at 401 North Wabash.

The location of London House is perfect, just steps to shops and restaurants on the Mag Mile, River North and Loop; Blue line to O’Hare, Orange line to Midway and Red line to Wrigley Field.

The room was pretty spacious, clean and comfortable too. I loved the huge windows that allowed the lightening outside to light up my room with each stroke during a passing storm. The barn door separating the room from the restroom was cool too. I especially loved that the bathroom featured a shower stall versus shower tub combo. The king bed was as comfy as I expected a Hilton bed to be and I happy that the TV wasn’t small.

Included with my stay was a $12 breakfast voucher to Land and Lake Kitchen on the first floor. I applied it to their version of avocado toast; it was pretty good!

If staying in Chicago, I’d definitely recommend considering the London House; I cant wait to stay here next time I’m in town!

This hotel definitely exceeded my expectations. The people at check in were very helpful and thoughtful and went above and beyond to be sure I had a good experience. I loved that you could get complimentary water at the front desk whenever you wanted it.

The room was mid-sized and overlooking the river with an average bathroom and average amenities.

One small issue was the noise. I specifically requested a room with a bathtub to take a bath, and that room happened to be on a lower floor (the 6th floor), which meant you did get a bit of traffic noise. They were very kind in accommodating me with a room that had a bathtub. On the other hand, the beds and the pillows were extremely comfortable, which made for a good night's sleep.

There was also a Nespresso machine in the room, which is always a nice plus.

The location is very walkable. You are 5 blocks to the Bean and the park, as well as a short walk to the main shopping areas and the pier. There is also a Corner Bakery downstairs, which is convenient for coffee and breakfast.

I did not get up to the roof as it was very cold when I stayed at the hotel, though it is supposed to be worth checking out. I can imagine it would be a fun hotel during the summer.

Overall, it is definitely an above average hotel. I would consider staying here again. For the hotel class and the price, it is a good find.

I stayed here for 2 nights in July 2020. This was my second time staying and I can say it will not be my last. The hotel is in a prime area of downtown right on the river. The real winners at this hotel are the vista rooms with floor to ceiling glass and the rooftop bar. If you're making a trip and want to be guaranteed a vista room I would book it directly because the view is one of the best in Chicago. Overall rooms are large for a big city hotel with nice linens and large smart TV's. Robes in the room give it a luxury property feel. Mini fridge worked well and is hidden. The bathroom was fantastic with marble shower walls and great water pressure. Staff was great even during COVID, very accommodating and courteous. The ground floor restaurant has a nice a la carte breakfast menu and does to-go so you can enjoy it in your room with a view. Another great stay, thank you LondonHouse!

We stumbled across the LondonHouse because of the location. We booked the room but we were still shopping around. We decided to stay after we had a multitude of friends, from Chicago and everywhere else, telling us we had to checkout the rooftop bar at LondonHouse. Let me tell you how little we regretted that decision

The room: gorgeous lighting, amazing view of the river, perfect size. TVs were easy to work, tons of mirrors that made getting ready easy, EXTREMELY CLEAN. Convenient switches by the bed that turn all the lights off and the blackout curtains block all the light out (no little sliver of curtains that let all the city lights in) very quiet, no sounds of the city nor sounds of slamming doors keeping us up

The bed: this gets its own category. WOW. I am a bed snob. I will die on this hill. This was hands down the best bed I’ve stayed in for a hotel. I’m actually disappointed I have to sleep in my own bed tonight. From the linens to the pillows it was a dream.

The personnel: friendly, helpful, and out of the way. They were there when you needed them at the drop of a hat. Excellently run hotel.

The scene: there was a reason everyone told us to check out the rooftop it goes without saying the experience was spectacular. Our favorite spot, however, was the restaurant downstairs on the first floor. The best breakfast, coffee and morning cocktails. It was fast and delicious. We didn’t go anywhere else for breakfast during our trip because it was so fast, convenient, and did I mention delicious????

If you can get a room here it’s worth it. The location is great, getting picked up by an Uber was as simple as it gets in the city, and if you’re struggling the doormen will help you flag them down. If I could give this hotel and experience 10 stars I would.

London House service is top notch. Always a kind hello and welcome from the gentlemen greeting you as you step out your car and the customer service continues throughout your stay. Special thanks to the supervisor, Matthew, for letting me check in to my room early - with an nice upgrade as well! I've stayed at London House multiple times and each time I have had breathtaking views of the city and the Chicago River. Location is perfect - a safe and vibrant area of downtown with quick access to the Riverwalk and all Chicago's attactions. They have taken many safe precautions to prevent the spread of Covid-19, such as limiting the number of people in the elevators and closing off parts of the lobby. Hand sanitizing stations are situated throughout the common areas.

I'm looking forward to returning in a couple weeks to London House and enjoying the holiday weekend in the USA's best city!

Beautiful Hotel with a great location. We checked in early and were offered an upgrade with a view that was ready. We took it. We had a good river view which we enjoyed. The beds were very comfortable, perhaps a little soft, but pretty good, lots of pillows. The bathroom was very pretty with a large shower and even a make up mirror. The room had a Nespresso coffee maker which came with a few pods and also a tea bag to let you know you can just heat water in it also. Waking up to a nice hot cup of coffee in your room is a real plus for us. Our room was missing an ice bucket and come cups, but when texted the help number, we were brought the supplies we needed right away. They had a large TV and it had Chromcast, so we were able to stream movies from services we already had, Netflix and Hulu.
The location is wonderful and we were able to walk to the Art Institute, Millennium park, many restaurants and the River Walk was right in front of the hotel.
There is a roof top bar that is very popular and they view is nice, but bar is fairly small so very hard to get into. They do give hotel guest priority, so that was nice.
We ate at the restaurant, Land and Lakes two times. Once for drinks and dinner and then again for breakfast. Both meals were good but not anything to get too excited about. On the weekend they always had a wait list, but Sunday evening and Monday day and evening there was not any wait.

We would stay here again if in Chicago to do the normal tourist type things. Great location, ALL the staff was very polite, helpful and nice. I can’t say enough nice about this hotel.

The riverfront location downtown can't be beat. Lovely Art Deco building and historic lobby. Rooms are very nice, with super comfy bed and linens, and fluffy towels and rooms. Falls a bit short on service. Had to cajole a bit to get Diamond upgrade, in spite of lower occupancy. Front desk didn't answer phone most of time. Repeated problems w key cards. Crowds of partiers in lobby, sime without masks, not being well controlled by hotel. Housekeeping missed us one day and had to call to get them back in late afternoon. Breakfast was good but the $12 allowance pee person for Diamond breakfast is insufficient for most items on menu and should be raised. These items prevented a five star rating but this is a very nice property.

We upgraded our room to get a river view and it was, indeed, lovely. The hotel’s location is also terrific. The River Walk is across the street, and, among other things, it’s a very short walk to the Chicago Art Institute and “Bean.”
All staff we encountered were friendly.
That said, aside from the view, the room wasn’t what I’d expect for the price. There was a layer of dust on the shelving and desk, and housekeeping is not done on a daily basis unless one makes a specific request for it. The shelving was very tired looking, and, to a degree, a waste of space. The room had other inconvenient or wasteful features, as well. The safe is on the floor, so one has to get down on hands and knees to use it. The bathroom had only 1 towel rack that was so small it could only accommodate 1 towel so we draped our hand towel and other bath towel over the shower door. There is an unnecessarily huge mirror in the room but it’s not suited for doing makeup or hair. There was a very small table with one sitting chair. After a long morning tour one day, we thought we’d just split a sandwich in the room so we dragged the desk chair over to be by the small table and sitting chair, and the table was so small we couldn’t put two drinks and one sandwich on it. A second sitting chair would have been nice. For a 5-day stay with 2 people, there weren’t enough hangers in the closet. Ok, these are obviously not serious problems in the scheme of life. Indeed, they are not problems at all; but … for the price of the room, we would have expected something cleaner and something with a far better layout and features. Oh… and $8 for a bottle of water? Really?!

The Trump sign is indeed massive, lighted brightly, and located directly across from the hotel and visible from all the rooms (both upper and lower floors) that have good views of the City and the rivers. It is, I agree, deeply unfortunate and -- at least to me -- one major disadvantage of staying at the hotel.
Answer from Ambassador683414

I didn’t see any priority access line. Guests of the hotel has to stand in line as well. Seems to be reservations and first come first served. If you just wanted to get a drink and ok with standing around with your drink, I think they are ok with walk ins as long as they are not at max capacity. But the roof top bar is a little overrated. Go take a picture of the views especially at night but go elsewhere for your drinks.
