Just got back from Chicago and had stayed in 3 different hotels along the way. The Allerton was the first on our trip. I agree with one of the previous reviews about the pipes LOL It was a bit of a shock at first as every time you turn the shower on it sounds like it is about to explode...

Good day Travelling67, Thank you for the good and not so good in your review. Rattling pipes, speed and small rooms – not what we like to hear but true. At 90 years of age we can shake and rattle and stir. We do our best to stay on top of these issue but we can come up short occasionally....

The water pipes in the hotel vibrate in the walls every time some flushes the toilet in their room. Plus the self parking garage next to the hotel is $33 per night verses $60 per night for the valet service. The rooms are clean and the hotel is in a good location with a great breakfast bakery around the corner.

Good day kieran r, I want to thank you for your feedback. Our engineering team is always ready to repair anything that occurs during your stay. Our hotel is just over 90 years old and sometimes we can feel our age at least until engineering can make us feel like a teenager again. You are correct on parking. We have...

Very beautiful, great staff, and a great location. It's steps away from the magnificant mile and all kinds of resturants. The staff reccomended great places to eat that were within walking distance. It is also near a bus stop so if you like to navitage the city on public transporation, this is a great option.

I had previously stayed at the Allerton and when my boss was looking for a meeting spot in Chicago I suggested it. Everyone was quite glad I did. Love the rooms, the bar, the whole vibe here. It is historic and has loads of atmosphere and the best location possible. I'd highly recommend it!

My boyfriend and I stated at the Allerton in February to celebrate our anniversary. It was one of the coldest weekends that winter, particularly on our arrival date. Thankfully, the hotel was nicely renovated, and the concierge took special care to make sure we had a lovely stay (we were upgraded to a suite). Our window views were of Michigan...

Good day Connie V, Thank you for visiting us, especially over theater week. It is one of the best times to visit Chicago and I am glad our concierge was able to help you enjoy a little show and supper. I agree that a view of the Tip Top Tap sign is amazing and unique. You can no longer have...

Spent the night on a train trip across the country here. Amtrak vacations made the reservation as part of the trip. not far from the union station and a very awesome place to stay. This is a piece of Chicago history that was built in the 1920s refurbished and remodeled a number of times over the history of this delightful...

Hello roadwarriorimaging, WOW! Thank you for liking our historic hotel as much as we do. I like the way you travel and stay. The beauty of seeing America by train, the rumble of the engine, and the sway on the cars gliding over the rails. Arriving at Union Station (another beautiful historic building) and then a short trip over to...

Had a great 2 night stay. We were really looked after and got an upgrade to a suite. The rooms were lovely and clean and had everything you would need for a vacation or business trip. The hotel is in a great location and all the major attractions are within walking distance. Only one tiny criticism is that free wifi...

We took a chance on this hotel and we ended up being very happy with it! I usually never book a hotel unless it ranks in Trip Advisor's top 20, but we were traveling on spring break with two teenage girls and had some specific room requirements. The Allerton was the only hotel to fit what we needed: great location...

Lovely hotel great location for seeing the city. Although when you're told your room has a view of a brick wall ask if it has any light as ours didn't. Overall a good hotel. Originally asked for 2 beds and were told they didn't have any, but Michelle on reception did her best and found the room without a view!!

Hello Jan C, I understand about wanting day light. I am sorry that our rooms with two queen beds are on the east side of our building that face the building neighboring us.
