Hallways and rooms were musty. Bed was creaky. There was urine all over the radiator in the bathroom. Main areas have been updated and are cute. But rooms need a lot of help. They just do not feel clean. Staff was very nice.

I've stayed at the Majestic multiple times. Very friendly staff, great Lakeview location and in a nice neighborhood where you can walk to a Starbucks and to eateries as well as Wrigley Field. A quick Uber to many downtown locations. If you order an Uber to O'Hare airport and it's $80 as it was one Wednesday am for me, go back inside and the staff will call you a taxi which arrived in under 5 minutes and it was only $38. It's not a shiny, glitzy place, but location and staff are primo!

While not exactly “steps from” Wrigley Field (more like 6 blocks), we had an easy Uber ride both ways. Property is quite dated and I would have given 3 stars except the staff was so good: helpful, friendly and responsive. Parking in a nearby (indoor underground) lot with valet once you are inside worked well. At $25, I thought it was a bargain. Our room was large with ample room to relax. Although it is in a quiet residential neighborhood the walls are thin and you may hear noise from your fellow guests. Coffee available in the am but no breakfast. Comfortable beds, good water pressure in shower.

Stayed here with my wife to catch 2 Cubs games. What a great location! The staff were always helpful and amazing. Bed and pillows were great. Water pressure in the shower was awesome. Lots of places to walk to near the hotel including a grocery store to fill the fridge. We will 100% be staying here again.

The front desk staff was wonderful. Full flavored personality and very helpful. Great location downtown, walking distance from a little bit of everything. Rooms are modest but cozy, with very comfortable beds. Would recommend and will stay there again.

Hotel is very well situated in a really nice location and we always felt safe coming & going...walked a LOT and most things we needed were very close. The Majestic is an older hotel, so the carpet and bathrooms could use a bit of updating, but the amenities were nice. Beds were very comfortable with lots of pillows, covers and AC, a MUST in summer. Separate TV room with couch and desk was worth the bit extra. Entrance requires guests to always go by the small front desk which is ALWAYS staffed day or night. This means anyone entering to use stairs or elevator must go by a staff member...a feeling of safety accompanies this arrangement. Front desk staff was always attentive and pleasant with a kind greeting. A stop by the breakfast area, though no breakfast offered since covid restrictions, was a MUST to grab a cup of their special blend coffee they've used/sourced for 10 years...it is absolutely HEAVENLY and always fresh day or night. Quaint, safe, clean and offers a pleasant stay in the heart of Chicago. The area has nice landscaping which makes you feel you are in a neighborhood...pretty & pleasant. Easy access to a bus stop, the lake and lots of nice businesses, cafes. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I think at one time this unique hotel was magnificent, but it is major need of a refresh. The staff was extremely hospitable, even helping us get the bell cart onto the super tiny elevator. If you have mobility issues, this is probably not for you. Three steps to get down into lobby. We “upgraded” to a “ sunroom”, which was good for the extra space. Lots of lighting in our king size room, even has a minibar in frig with cheap prices. That said, the carpet is quiet stained in the room and in the hallways. The bathroom is super tiny, not even a towel bar. But the refillable soap, shampoo, and lotion is nice. Only 1 small wastebasket, which could be a problem if you stayed more than overnight. There is a window unit for AC, which kept the temp very comfortable. I am thinking in the winter it might be chilly, saw a radiator for heat. The wallpaper is peeling in spots in the bathroom, probably from humidity. We stayed here for convenience to Wrigley Field, it is a 20 minute walk. Also, no coffee maker in room, just available in the lobby. You have to park in a lot about 5 blocks away which is an extra $39. I felt the room was overpriced for the amenities, $282 without parking. Guess you pay for location.

My bestie and I were lucky enough to win Lady Gaga tickets at Wrigley Field on August 15th which was a Monday night. She won them a few weeks in advance of the concert so we booked our train up and got online to find hotels. Of course almost everything was sold out, but I was able to find rooms at the Majestic Hotel listed on Google for $144 a night. I went to book at a couple of different places and then the price would jump hundreds of dollars. I called the hotel directly to book a room and was told my room would be $539 plus tax. The only other room located even remotely close to Wrigleyville was at the hostel. I heard a few good reviews of The Majestic online and I loved the location of it so I went ahead and booked it. The hotel is a beautiful old building. The front desk folks were plenty nice and the Lounge was cute. Upon arriving to our room it was very small, barely enough room for the queen size bed. I don't need a lot of space so that wasn't that big of a deal. Bathroom floor was dirty and the wallpaper was peeling leaving crumbs all over the ground. There was no microwave or coffee maker and online it said that there would be a mini bar and snacks that you could buy in your room but those were also gone. Upon asking the front desk they said they were down stairs for purchase if we wanted them. The there are refillable bottles of shampoo and lotion and soap in the bathroom and you can tell the lotion just gets refilled from the top and different types have been in there some was solidified in the bottle. I loved the location because it was a 15-minute walk or so to Wrigleyville and Boys Town and was very safe. The bed was the best thing about the room because it was comfortable. Upon arriving home I saw that I had been charged 633 along with a $100 charge. I called them to question the $100 charge and they said that that would be refunded within the next few days and that the extra money on top of the initial $539 charge was for taxes and fees. There was no breakfast offered. I am just so disappointed in myself for paying so much just to sleep for a couple of hours. I think the immense jumping price is ridiculous but I do understand that I didn't have any other choice. If it ever happens again I would just stay in a cheaper motel for their South and pay the cab driver and save a ton of money and receive much more. There are plenty of cabs, ubers, bikes, scooters. Lesson learned. I would be happy to stay here for the $144 a night that was originally listed but what was advertised on web page in the experience and amenities was not what I experienced or received. Good friendly staff. Good bed. Good location .

My wife and I stayed here during the Lollapalooza weekend. This is a great hotel in a great location. There’s nothing better than being away from Michigan Ave and the tourist traps/restaurants. It was in a quiet neighborhood but walking distance to many great bars and restaurants. The customer service provided by the front desk was superior. This was a “old school” hotel but I didn’t mind it at all. As a Generation X’er, I had flashbacks to my childhood with some of the decor a furniture. (I think the hotel should lean more into the retro theme). The only area of concern that’s keeps this hotel below a 5, is the mattresses and pillows. They have to be upgraded to a more comfortable level. But overall, great stay and recommended.
