Beautiful hotel. Love the old architecture. Stunning floral displays in the lobby. All the staff was friendly and helpful. Comfy bed. Fabulous lake view. Definitely would stay here again, if we return to Chicago.
Upon entering the Drake Hotel from the lobby you immediately realize you are in majestic, grand hotel. There is nothing modern upon initial look but don't let that get in the way of enjoying and embracing all that the Drake has to offer. It is...More
This is a beautiful and historic property in an amazing downtown Chicago location with affordable rates. That’s basically where the good parts end.
We were greeted by dozens of angry, extremely loud striking hotel workers picketing the main entrance to the property. Check-in was efficient,...More
My husband and I had a wonderful stay! The bed was super comfortable, the room was clean and cozy (and I don't mean "small" by that), and view of the lake was spectacular, the location cannot be beat! Close to everything!! We absolutely LOVED our...More

High society has always recognized The Drake Hotel as the quintessential social hotspot. Princess Diana, Queen Elizabeth and the Empress of Japan have all been seen in the Palm Court. Though The Drake has progressed both architecturally and technologically over the past 93 years, the roots of The Drake Hotel run deep beneath Lake Shore Drive into Real Chicago. Less

Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale.
Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
