Staying at the Ambassador is a status statement. And that is all. The beds are comfy, the pillows are terrible. The decor is dated (but it’s an older hotel...so that was, somewhat, expected.) The outlets are loose and don’t hold a plug well. The staff...More
The Ambassador is a MUST stay hotel in Chicago! Not only was our room gorgeous, it was immaculately clean, quite, and comfortable. In addition to the splendor of the building, the entire staff was incredible! Everyone went out of their way to help make our...More

Nice location in northern Chicago with restaurants in walking distance. Not in the loop. Rooms have poor lighting and insufficient wall outlets. Room size varies. Stocked mini fridge and snacks in room.More

From one Buffalonian to another- thank you for the review!. We are working on getting more outlets in the room as I type this; unfortunately one of the not so fun perks of a historic building is whats behind the walls! Next time you...More

Thank you so much for the kind words and 5 star review. The corners rooms are also my personal favorite- they offer amazing city views!
We appreciate your feedback and are excited to welcome you back!
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The
Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
