Nestled in the heart of the Chicago Theatre District, the Hampton Inn Majestic has earned accolades for its prime location, with guests enjoying easy access to nearby attractions and dining options. Many have praised the hotel's charming atmosphere, accentuated by high ceilings and historic details. While the rooms offer a comfortable retreat with appreciated amenities, some visitors felt the decor could use an update. Staff service receives commendations for courtesy, although experiences with service can be mixed. Cleanliness is consistently highlighted as a strong point, ensuring a spotless stay. However, opinions on value vary, with some guests questioning additional fees despite generally reasonable rates. The amenities, including the cozy beds, contribute positively to guest experiences, even as some note the breakfast area and lobby could be more spacious.

I am often in the South Loop, and generally stay at the much more expensive Blackstone because I love the cleanliness, lobby, artwork, and the attached MerCat. COVID closed that hotel, at least temporarily, last summer, and I reluctantly booked Hampton Majestic. I've stayed here 5 times since. The rooms are always pristine, the staff is wonderful, they don't have valet these days but they do point you to the iPark app and a $17/night in-out garage; they offer coffee and a breakfast box (who wants to go to a breakfast buffet anyway? I wouldn't!) They always make my room feather-free , and they are walking distance to everything. Blackstone didn't even have coffee, let alone a place to buy a morning snack or breakfast unless you wanted a full meal. The valet/garage was $70/night minimum. What was I thinking?

We had a great stay here! The hotel is located in a beautiful older building, and they've done a great job allowing you to see parts of the old building while the hotel itself is current. Our room with two queens wasn't huge, but it was larger than some we've had inside a city. We slept well, but we were also quite tired from lots of walking around the beautiful city of Chicago!

The hotel's location was perfect for our touring around Chicago - we were able to walk to Millenium Park, the river and riverwalk, and it would be super close to theaters when they're available again! It was also just a short walk to a transit station. The hotel's parking garage partner was also very close and we were able to get into our vehicle during our stay (we didn't drive anywhere during our stay). While we didn't venture out too late at night, we got back to our room by 10ish each night and felt safe the entire time (using basic good sense, of course).

The free breakfast was full and had good variety, but it did get busy with other guests and it was challenging to find a table or try to figure out a way to carry everything back to our room, ha! The staff was very busy filling everything (despite having to clean up after inconsiderate guests... I'm looking at you, lady who spilled your orange juice and then just walked away from it!), though, so we enjoyed our breakfast.

Overall, our time at this Hampton Inn was lovely and we would enjoy staying again!

Hello LoveTrips! Thank you so much for the flattering (and thorough) review! Although breakfast can get very busy for us, I must admit that I love the buzz that comes from having guests in the breakfast area again. After a year of quiet (during the pandemic) we really miss the energy. Thank you again for your business, and please come see us again soon! Warm Regards, Harman Hall, GM

This was our first stay at this hotel, good location in the Loop by the Chicago Theater and State Street shopping. The staff is extremely polite, friendly, and helpful. Valet greeted us upon arrival and had our car all set to go with our bags in it when we checked out. The elevators are a little slow and you need your key to get access to your floor. It's great for safety but difficult if you're using a digital key on your phone! I was disappointed in our room because it had a really strong musty smell combined with a soap smell. I tried turning on the fan along with spraying some perfume but it didn't really help. I was also expecting the same style of comforter that they have at other Hampton Inns which are super comfy and fluffy, but these were flat along with the pillows. It's a nice size room and the bathroom was big. The shower curtain needs to be cleaned or swapped out because it also smelled badly. I also had issues with the internet connection going in/out on my phone. We enjoyed the breakfast, they actually had fruit smoothies! The oatmeal is always a good choice and they had different flavored hot teas which was a bonus!

This hotel is centrally located on Monroe and we were able to walk almost everywhere we wanted to go (despite inclement weather). The rooms were very quiet and that is a real rarity in this day and age. Well kept, and perfect in the sense that you had a spot to put an open suitcase, had 2 comfy chairs, one at desk and one that had a moveable table with it. Good size walk-in shower and bathroom. Plenty of hooks and plugs. I liked having spot to hang my coat by the door esp on days when wet from rain. I would stay here again as price is reasonable and staff is very nice. And just a great location.

I came for the closing of Hamilton in Chicago and stayed here because it shares a building with the CIBC Theatre. The room was clean and comfortable. I was able to store my luggage easily at check in and check out so I could explore Chicago without my bags. There’s a mini fridge in every room and a microwave you can use on the lobby level. The free breakfast was pretty standard with both hot options and grab-and-go options. The elevators can run slow at peak times, so plan for a few extra minutes. I had a great stay!

Great location. In the middle of Chicago. Staff are lovely. Very clean. Rooms are impeccable. Comfy. BUT...if you’re considering staying because of the free HOT Breakfast option, don’t. Due to COVID Restrictions, they only offer a boxed, cold breakfast with a bottle of water: mini bagel, 2 cold hard boiled eggs, mini fruit yogurt and a small banana. No coffee. No Juice. Nothing else. Also, their cleaning staff is limited. So during your stay, don’t expect a clean/done up room everyday.

We travel to Chicago 4-5 times per year to enjoy touring Broadway musicals. Our recent (and first) stay at the Hampton Majestic Theatre District Hotel was one of the best, by far. After rough traveling conditions, the hotel staff made every effort to have our room available for early check-in. All staff was friendly and helpful. I especially appreciate the pre-arrival text message, which assisted with the facilitation of our special requests. The proximity to the attached theatre was invaluable, as we were able to access a private entrance into the theatre lobby for hotel guests on an extremely icy, cold evening. We will choose this hotel over all others for future visits to Chicago.

Had a very nice stay here with 7 other family members. Hotel is located on top of a musical theater built in 1906. The rooms are neat, clean and well maintained. Room rates are competitive for the area and included hot breakfast which was good food-wise but see my later comments on service.

Used valet parking which usually took 10-15 minutes to retrieve but wait can be longer during weekday morning rush hour times or in evening during theater performances.

The Theater District location is great and it's a short walk to all of the Loop, Millenium Park, Riverwalk, North Michigan Ave, McCormick Place and Art Institute. Short ride share to the Shedd Aquarium, Planeterium, Museum of Natural History and Navy Pier.

The staff, led by GM Harman Hall, are excellent especially Ismeta, the woman running the hot breakfast buffet. In all my 35+ years of business travel, I had never met a hotel employee like her who was so cheerful, energetic and made every customer feel special. I will return some day just for this wonderful lady.

I’m very bless and fortunate to have stayed here, I arrived by Armtrak around 10am, and my appointment to go to the embassy won’t be till 1:30 pm it suddenly snowed that day, Not familiar around chicago tired wet and cold I decided to go straight here, not confident if they accept early check (10:30 am) I went and tried anyway, And yes the front desk lady was so kind, let me checked in early, and she even gave me a higher floor, OMG! I was so lucky, I was able to take a little rest and clean up and change cloths.
Which I really needed after a long Armtrak ride.

And the front desk also allowed me to extend few more hours on my check out! I love this hotel the staff are kind and helpful, The room is so clean and the bed is comfortable. Location is just 7 minute walk to the Philippine Consulate. Perfect location for sightseeing too.

I recommend this hotel to everyone, who is looking for a good stay, good food and great hospitality and exceptional friend kind service.
