I changed hotels this year for the conference I attend, and chose the Union League Hotel, in part because I have reciprocal membership. I had an idea of what to expect: traditional decor and service, which was what I got. I didn't have a refrigerator in my room, and was provided one as soon as I asked, which was nice....

Worst hotel experience ever. If you want to stay high on 2:30 am, this is the place. Otherwise if you want a good sleep, two words: stay away. Let's face it: it is an old place and it holds events. I can clearly hear every single talk in the hallway. That is why I was waken up by crazy people...

Stuffy, staid, and stodgy. This is not to be compared to an upscale hotel. I used a reciprocity arrangement since I am a member at The Union League, Philadelphia. The Philadelphia club is ranked the #1 city club in the nation and far outshines the Chicago club in so many ways from accommodations, to atmosphere, to food, to service!

Thanks to age and intrigued, learning to seek out our country's great turn of the century clubs. And this one's a beauty. A great mixture of history, Americana and superior service. Can't wait to return and try others. Plus there's a one-of-a kind Guy Buffet painting of the main ballroom greets you at the registration desk. We love Guy's work.

My Chicago office is less than 2 blocks away, so the Union Club is easy to get to from O'Hare (blue line to Jackson) and then to my Office. Not only did I stay there on my last trip to my Chicago office, I booked 5 clients to stay there as well. They all reported that the accommodations were wonderful...

The Union League building is centrally located and a very good choice for business. “Ask for the newly renovated rooms without connecting space as TV and conversations/partying noise travels and is quite disturbing. If you object to using a service/ staging /delivery entrance when not attired to the dress code, you will feel like a 2nd class citizen being directed to the back door when wearing sneakers for touring, shorts after labor day, or jeans except on weekends.”
