Honestly, I think this is an excellent hotel for the location and price.I don't understand why so many crybabies are writing such negative reviews.I felt the need to write a positive one for those considering staying here. For the location and price, you're not going to get a better deal. We were able to park in a safe lot nearby...

I'm not sure why, but I felt compelled to write a review of this hotel. I'd give it 2 1/2 stars if I could. Many of the other 2 & 3 star ratings were accurate: old and really needs a deep cleaning, esp. the carpets, but worked for our purposes (attending a conference at McCormick Place, so we were only...

Old, outdated. No AC. No cable tv. Worn look. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Location is great. Not a place to hang out. If your looking for cheap place to lay your head in Chicago, this is a good choice. No frills, cheap lodging. Great location. Near food, shopping and public transportation. It's not a place you take your...

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Disgustingly dirty and cold rooms. Rudest staff ever. They basically yell at you on the phone and they roll their eyes when you ask for something, like the wifi password. The heaters did not work. It smelled like cigarette everywhere. The bathroom was gross when I arrived, as if they hadn't cleaned it before.

I chose this hotel because I was on a budget and it had great transport links. I had read some of the bad reviews but since I was only staying for a few nights, I thought it would be fine. Upsides - price (though looking back, I would have paid more to stay elsewhere); subway only a few minutes walk...

The hotel is 3 minutes far from the Chinatown station, really convenient and 10 minutes far from the downtown (The loop). However, it is no cheap (cheaper than many others). The room was really small, the bathroom small as well and the common areas were a little smelly. On the other hand, I could sleep well, it was not noisy....

This hotel is below average, but I'll give it a three rating for being cheap, convenient to the train, and in a great neighborhood. I booked online with a third party and had no problems checking in or out. The free wi-fi worked well for my basic purposes. The room was tiny, but was fine for me as a solo...

This hotel was one of the worst that we've ever stayed at, but for the price it was in a good location and convenient to downtown. I don't think we had a hot shower while we were there and they certainly did not clean the rooms. We found trash on the floor that had not been cleaned up. If you...

Do not waste your money or expose your integrity in this hotel. It is very expensive , no elevator and the stairs are very narrow. Since you approach the stairs , you realize that makes the carpet is very old and smelly. The room is very small , smelly and the furniture is very old. The door did not close...

I read reviews about people that are upset about this Hotel. We have to put thing in perspective. Hotels downtown were about 500$/night when I booked. This hotel was 80$/night. Of course this will not be the 5 stars hotel of the Loop. So if you are expecting marble bathroom, mint condition furniture and a perfect view of the city,...

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown may be one of Chicago’s smallest neighborhoods geographically, but it's big on character, colors, sights, sounds, and flavors. In this South Side neighborhood, you’ll find authentic Chinese restaurants dotting the length of Wentworth Avenue. After a meal of dim sum, noodles, duck or other tantalizing food specialties, satiate your visual appetite with dozens of public art sculptures sprinkled throughout the neighborhood ranging from animal structures to pagodas, a tile mosaic, Chinatown Gate, and a Buddhist Temple.
