Hair on the toilet, unpainted wall patches, original carpet from 1865! Ugh I am not a hotel snob, motel 6 is fine with me, but I will not stay here again to save money. Very hard to understand desk clerks. Good Chinese restaurant next door.

- yess, it's a budget hotel - good to stay only for you who wants to explore the windy city, but not to enjoy the hotel - a bit away from downtown, but you can take uber easily to go everywhere you want

It's relatively close to downtown. Accommodations are pretty modest and old, rooms tiny. Prices were reasonable considering. Compared to camping, this is good. I'm glad I had this experience. Of course terrific food can be found literally outside the doorstep.

Tucked away in the colorful, fun, amazing Chinatown Chicago is a well-priced, clean, and simple hotel with a customer service you cannot beat! Price was 1/2 of what the huge unpersonable hotels charged. It IS a hotel- no spa, valet, mints on the pillow - but clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helped give directions and info. Try the upstairs...

Hôtel well maintained while still of the old style. The corrdors are narrow and not so clean as well as the carpets but the room was Nickel, very clean and comfortable. Very efficient wi-fi as well as very polite and welcoming personnel.

A group of us (6 college females) stayed in one of the suites while attending 2 rugby games , which was actually just 2 tiny rooms with a bathroom in the middle, so not a ton of floor space. After reading other reviews we prepared for the worst, bringing our own pillow/blankets/towels/etc. While I'm not upset we brought our own,...

We stayed in the Chinatown hotel from Friday to Monday to see the city. We did a lot of research for accommodations for this trip. All hotels downtown ran for at least $300/night and air bnb's were comparable to that as well. Chinatown hotel was perfect because it's a block and half away from the Cermak-Chinatown subway stop that runs...

Tibor Fischer says, "Elegance tends to be uniform, but seediness surprises." I was surprised at just how seedy this hotel was but I enjoyed it. There may be some kind of scabbie situation. See the photo of the key they give you. Could the lock be opened with a butter knife? wifi was a little weak but functioned. very hot...

Good location. Subway nearby. Many Restaurants around, good for family. Bathroom too small for people who are big size. No Lift service, a bit troublesome. Service staff helpful and friendly. Must reserved In advance, rooms always full.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown may be one of Chicago’s smallest neighborhoods geographically, but it's big on character, colors, sights, sounds, and flavors. In this South Side neighborhood, you’ll find authentic Chinese restaurants dotting the length of Wentworth Avenue. After a meal of dim sum, noodles, duck or other tantalizing food specialties, satiate your visual appetite with dozens of public art sculptures sprinkled throughout the neighborhood ranging from animal structures to pagodas, a tile mosaic, Chinatown Gate, and a Buddhist Temple.
