This was my first time staying at a hostel, and at this hostel, it was a good experience. I traveled with six of my friends (making it 7 all together) and we stayed in a six person room. The room we stayed in was VERY clean and basic, but comfortable. It had a key card entry, 3 bunk beds, private...

Consider other Hostels, will be more affordable. They charge your card about a week after as well. The activities calendar wasn't updated for about month. The only plus is the great neighborhood of Lincoln Park.

The hostel is really good. The beds are as new, the linen is great and all the services are on point. The kitchen is industry-sized and the breakfast monstruous. Great welcoming personel, always there to help you. The place is clean and spacious. The red, purple and brown line are at a 10 min by foot, they go downtown in...

We went for a short weekend in Chicago and had a blast! We were in a private room and for the price we couldn't ask for much more- they even had a free breakfast. The staff was also helpful in pointing us in the right direction. The location is awesome too- a safe area with lots to do in the...

I found this hostel to be in an ideal, central area which was very close to all transit, food, etc... I was pleased with the staff and their willingness to give recommendations on places nearby, even at midnight. There was a fooseball table, pool table, TVs in the common room, and guitars you could check out. This was my first...

Can't say how much I enjoyed my stay at this place. It was in such a nice part of town and put any fears of weird things happening to ease. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about things, including being very accommodating to having 6 people pay for 2 rooms all at once. I loved how clean the rooms were....

Stayed in this hostel at least 3 times, one of the best values for money in Chicago. Staff is very friendly, the structure is clean and they provide a good breakfast. Rooms are small but comfortable. Position is great, very close to Fullerton CTA (metro) station on the red line, and in particular to a couple of great Chicago Blues...

My daughter and I stayed here while on a roadtrip. We loved the helpful staff, the breakfast, and the location: all good! The rooms are like any typical hostel, just the bare essentials, which is what we expected. We saw the shared bathrooms and showers, and I decided to get a room with our own bathroom simply because I was...

Affordable Style in Chicago's Chic Lincoln Park Located in Chicago's affluent Lincoln Park, the Chicago Getaway Hostel is rewriting the house rules on hostel style. Policies once etched in stone are being cast aside in favor of fresher, friendlier approach. Membership fees are out and hotel-like amenities are in at this stately 1928 Georgian Revival landmark that, ironically, returns to its early 20th century roots as a boardinghouse for women. Today, all guests are welcome to enjoy free breakfast, free WiFi, free linens, free housekeeping, a 24/7 chef-caliber kitchen and a BYOB policy. Add nightly events like pub crawls, brewery tours and barbecues and it's easy to see why Chicago Getaway is fast becoming the city's favorite spot for affordable short-term and extended-stay accommodations. ... more   less
