Got stuck in Chicago unexpectedly due to weather cancellations. Needed a quick place to sleep for the night before a 6:00am flight. I chose this hotel because I am loyal to the Marriott brand and this hotel advertised a complimentary airport shuttle and had a King Suite available. I had two major issues that made me never want to stay here again: 1) the shuttle, and 2) the dishonest room assignment. The shuttle situation was annoying. I could not find any information on the website for when/where the shuttle would pick up. I had to call the hotel to ask, which took almost 15 minutes of being on hold to get a simple one-line answer…. the shuttle comes to and from the Shuttle Bus Center, Door 2 every 45 minutes. I made my way there and waited for just under an hour before it arrived. Overall very stressful experience because with so many shuttles coming in and out and not really announcing what was for what, I kept thinking perhaps I was missing it. Also, there were several elderly and physically impaired people who had trouble boarding the shuttle (it has a fairly tall step and is right to maneuver inside (think more minivan than city bus). The drivers should really offer assistance as helping some get one was a bit of a struggle. We were dropped off at the hotel and it took quite some time to get everyone checked in. I was given my key card and headed up to my room and unfortunately it was a room with two double beds. I went back downstairs and had to wait in line again… shared that I requested and paid for a king bed and got two doubles. I was told they were all sold out of kings beds. That’s extremely frustrating since the website showed that king beds were available and I even paid a bit extra for it. They did not offer me a lower rate or tell me as I was checking in that there was an issue with the room I paid for. I would have stayed elsewhere had I been told this. This was not a cheap option either but I was willing to pay more for the Marriott brand. I’m a big and tall guy and really need a larger bed to sleep comfortably. This may not seem like a big deal to all, but it was a very big reason for me and pretty much made it difficult to get a comfortable sleep which was literally the whole point. Outside of those two issues, there was very little to like about this place: - Nothing felt particularly clean and the random bits of trash and dust on the hallway carpets suggest they haven’t been vacuumed in forever. - The hallway felt dark and dingy with several light bulbs out. The room also could have used additional lamps. - The TV is fairly old school (no access to any streaming apps) and the remote didn’t work properly. - The shower/tub had seen better days. The floor looked so as dirty I could not step on it barefoot. - The furniture looks dated and worn with lots of dents, scratches and stains and the curtains had dirt spots on them. - Also, just because I was curious, I checked out the fitness room and it is definitely in need of a refresh and has very limited and older equipment. Would have also been nice to offer filtered or bottled water the fitness room. Only plus was I like the Aveda bath products. If you can avoid this hotel, you should.

Hotel's Favourite
Stayed there one night before flight, liked it a lot: - very spacious room, with good layout: the bathroom can be accessible from both the master bedroom and outside living room, would say it is better than most suite type of rooms like Residence Ins. - prompt and frequent shuttle services to/from airport terminals - good breakfast - very friendly staffs would stay again if in area

Starting off with IZZY the front desk girl who is rude and clearly doesn't care about guests doesn't want to solve any issues for anyone. Room wasn't cleaned properly so if you are COVID scared don't stay here. GM doesn't have a business card? What kind of hotel is this? Motel 6 GMs have a card!

When we got there at first the guys at the front desk was chilling on his phone clearly not work releated, it took a long time to get dinner on site and the food was absolutely terrible. Then when we got to the room and pulled out the couch bed (there were 3 of us) there was 0 comforter just a single small sheet and a blanket. We called for a comforter but it took 3 calls to get it. I then asked how much a chocolate bar that I was holding was, they said $3 charged me $5. Pull out bed was so uncomfortable you could literally feel the springs and was rock hard everywhere else and we had to use 3 sheets to get it like that. Only ok part of this hotel was the Wi-Fi. This hotel is also in a terrible area. Would not recommend.

First time staying at this amazing location here just off of Mannheim, north of O'Hare. The updates that they made to this property is noticeable. The staff here are trained and ready for the ultimate customer guest experience. We had breakfast with them and the offerings were awesome and so too was the taste.

I waited 30 min for the shuttle since I was told it runs at 15 and 45 past the hour. When I called at 645 PM I was told it will come at 73 0 PM due to traffic. the hotel told me to take a cab which is not easy since one has to go back to the terminal. It was a pain. WHen I took a cab I realized there was no traffic. The hotel lied. Later I found out the driver went to fill gas. The shuttle driver the following morning told ne there is only shuttle and the hotel won't hire a second driver. It is impossible for him to leave the hotel at 615 PM and be back to the hotel for another pick up at 645 PM. So why lie to customers. Also there was no upgrade even though I am a Gold elite member. Given the difficulties I had the least they could have done as a good willl gesture was upgrade.

By far one of the worse hotels I have stayed in ever. I had to wait over ten minutes to get checked in despite checking in after 8 pm. The lobby had litter and unattended/abandoned luggage that was there the whole evening. The on-site restaurant had wait staff that was hanging out in the staff room and we had to ask the kitchen staff to seat us. The kitchen staff went to staff room to ask the wait staff to assist us. The beds are uncomfortable. I stayed there with my family but there were only towels for two in the room. When I called the front desk to ask for towels, no one picked up for over 15 minutes. Ultimately I gave up and made do unhappily. Hotel is next to a highway and the highway noises were very loud and disruptive while in the room.

First time staying here courtesy of the airline when our flight was delayed, missing the connecting flight in Chicago and had to overnight before getting on an early morning one the next day. It was a short drive by hotel shuttle to the hotel. Check in was very efficient and organized for our group of a dozen. I had a spacious king suite on the 12th floor which was very modern and well decorated. Bed was comfortably firm with quality bedding. Good in room lighting. Lobby has plenty of seating and very high ceilings giving the place an upscale look. Hallways are wide and well lit. Good size gym and a mid size indoor pool possible to do laps in. There is also a sauna. Had a chicken quesadilla at the lobby bar which was pretty good and reasonably priced considering this being a hotel restaurant. Airport shuttle starts at 3 am and runs on schedule every 30 minutes.

Staying in a large city like Chicago presents so many choices for lodging, you may have a tough time deciding. There is always the temptation to select a hotel downtown, close to the action. But if you want to save some money and enjoy easy proximity to the airport, a good choice for lodging is the Renaissance Hotel Chicago O’Hare Airport. Large in size, this hotel has over 350 rooms and each is a suite, complete with mini fridge, desk, and sleeper sofa. The suite provides lots of room to stretch out after a long day exploring the city. The pillowtop beds are comfortable, too, and the interior is quiet. You should have no trouble getting a restful night’s sleep, free from distractions. Outside of the rooms, guests will find a Starbucks right next to the front desk, a restaurant, pool, exercise room, etc. The emphasis here seems to be more on the rooms themselves, rather than extra amenities. And that is fine, because for me, what I wanted was a comfortable, quiet place to rest after running around the city and seeing the sights. The outside of this hotel looks much like an office building and isn’t that attractive. The daily parking is quite expensive, so I recommend avoiding it and using the train or ride share, if possible. I highly recommend using the train, since the station is very close, only a short walk away. The airport is close, too, so you don’t need to worry too much about getting back for your flight. They offer complementary shuttle service to and from the airport, so they have you covered. I found the service at Renaissance Hotel Chicago O’Hare Airport quite good and I was most appreciative of the late night assistance the front desk person gave me, around 2am one night, when I was unable to find my cell phone. All things considered, this is a pleasant hotel and it’s priced right, perfect for those who want more space and who want to be close to the airport and train station.
