We absolutely love our stay and plan to use it exclusively when coming to visit family there. The only issue was the toilet. It is entirely too low to the floor. It made using it uncomfortable and almost unusable. May think about providing a service or giving information on a service that would dog sit so guests can go enjoy other places in the city that are not dog friendly.
Checked in. We got a room the size of a postage stamp. You could hear people on both sides and on top of us. Very old and outdated. We heard the place used to be a weekly flop house. We left after a few hours. The room wasn't even what I call habitable.
I don’t write many reviews as we are not very picky about hotels. However, it is hard to believe that this hotel is still in existence and that Hyatt puts its name on it. If you read the first 10 TripAdvisor reviews posted recently you will see we are not the only people with the concern. This hotel is old, needs to be torn down or completely renovated. It was dirty (accumulated dirt in the corners of the mirror over the sink), wallpaper was peeling off the wall, and the sink was pulled out of the wall. My wife is diabetic and needed a refrigerator which the room does not have. We called and they brought one which was dirty, scratched and barely kept her insulin cool. We were booked for 4 days and checked out after our first night. The room had 2 in-the-wall HVACs which were old and constantly made sounds as they would turn off and on throughout the night. The elevators had dirt on the glass protecting the lights. I really would like my money back as I feel this was a bait and switch situation using the Hyatt name as a way to get people in the hotel and then not doing basic maintenance. They charged as if it were a 4-5 star hotel and it really is a 0 star. The last step just shows how out of step this hotel is – 3 days after I left the hotel (the original last day of my stay) they sent me a survey of how I liked the hotel.…
Hotel is outrageously overpriced for the value! Room so small the coffee stand is in closet! Bathroom had gas station style toilet and there is no counter space to get ready! Bed is hard as a rock, the mattress sits on a board. The headboard is a sheet, or a sheet with art! Tv is super small and goes in and out. This place is a joke! Do yourself a favor and spend your hard earned money somewhere else.
The property needs to be completely renovated. The hallway carpets are wore and need to be replaced. The shower in our room had had a poor repair from previous water damage. There was hair and dust on the couch, like it had not been cleaned recently. This is the only hotel in the area so they are able to charge premium rates for a below average experience. The only bright spot was the staff which were friendly and attentive. I would not recommend this property.
The staff here are great. But the hotel itself is trying to trade on kitch while overlooking basic amenities—you have to request housekeeping, and even though I did so on checkin requesting each day, 2 of 4 days no one came (even after I called the very nice folks at the front desk. They had clearly marked my preferences, but housekeeping just didn’t listen, I guess). I requested the housekeeping manager contact me, which he didn’t . Honestly, for $400/night I expect better (considering, too, the main eatery is closed and the bathroom doors sliding pocket doors with very little privacy). Do better, Hyatt. Your competition is fierce for COVID tourist dollars.
This hotel is just awful. Lobby is cute and trendy, rooms are disgusting. Elevators are slow and old, I’m sure the rooftop bar is nice but if you pay extra for a lake view and are unfortunate enough to be just below the rooftop bar, please know you WILL be hearing the club music blasting through the walls and ceiling until they close at 2 am. I have kids, we were never warned of this, and the age and filth and noise of this hotel are making me wish I found a Motel 6 for a nicer experience.
I had a wonderful time at Lincoln Hotel and I wish I could have stayed more than 1 night. My room was pretty average and old with a vintage atmosphere, the bed just a bit hard, but the room was still clean. The location is the best thing, it was easy to walk to the park and to the beach (and swim in the lake !). Great atmosphere in the area and pretty safe for a single woman. The food at the restaurant near the lobby was very good (a bit too expensive I think) and the view from the rooftop for my lunch was amazing. I will be back to see more of this beautiful area.
Made a reservation for 5 days and checked out the next day. Our corner room was the size of a closet. The handle on the shower fell off in my hand. The air-conditioner was blowing warm air We heard screams down the hallway on the 5th floor and discovered a large party was going on with call girls. I travel many times a year and this by far is the worst I've ever seen. We were eating lunch on Wells Street and a local told us it used to be a weekly hotel that was actually run better than what's there now. They need to close and renovate. I wish I had mu money back
We stayed at this hotel because its location. This hotel has 4 star reviews, so even we knew this hotel is a 3 star hotel in a 5 star location we still choose to stay here. The hotel lobby is actually fine, with a cafe next to it. The check in experience was ok. The staff was very nice and helpful, but they were seriously understaffed. It was 9am on a Saturday morning, a lot of ppl were waiting for help but only one staff was working there. The front desk guy was very nice, we chose to upgrade to a park view room with $20 per night extra and he let us check in without extract cost. From the elevator, you can tell that the hotel is very old - the elevator wasn’t clean and the light was not very bright. You don’t need to swip room key to enter any floors, which is a bit concerning because they have a rooftop bar which seemed popular and a restaurant open to the public, one of the restaurant door is next to the elevators. I feel that anyone can enter the room floors. The room wasn’t too small, but the amenities and all the details made me feel this place needs a serious upgrade. The bed does have a headboard, and there was stains on one of the pillow cases, the AC is in the wall and very very very nosy and dirty. The light on the celling was this kind of yellow light that made us feel depressed instead of warm and comfy. This hotel is honesty only about location, everything else about this place was terrible, other than the nice staff.…
