The Canopy in the Chicago Central Loop is fantastic for many reasons! I booked my large group there for 2 nights and everyone was thrilled with the service, rooms and the hospitality displayed by the staff. They checked in on us regularly to ensure we were satisfied. The hotel is beautiful and in a great location and has great food options right on-site. Our entire company has decided to partner with the Canopy for all our needs. Since our corporate offices are only a couple blocks away, it is the perfect fit for us! I highly recommend the Canopy and their staff for a great Chicago experience!
Had a wonderful stay at the brand-new Canopy by Hilton Chicago Central Loop last night which just opened 3 weeks ago. The rooms are very stylish with high ceilings and luxurious bath. The hotel is very clean and love the bath amenities. Friendly check in and fitness center looked nice too. We ordered takeout from the lobby Bistro, Depot 226 which was also good and friendly. Definitely a great central location in the Loop next to the Willis Tower and easily walkable to Union Station and other transportation options. Thanks for a great stay! - Mark
Stayed here this weekend and we were very pleased with Canopy. We took the train from Milwaukee and it was only a 5 min walk from train station which was nice and convenient. Tasteful decor. Like to mention 2 things: first, bakery didn't seem fresh either day we were there and quite pricey so expected better. Next, workers in restaurant area, please smile as both days I felt like we were a bothersome.
We had a room block which housed employees from out of town who came in for a meeting at our office. The hotel is great, super convenient and the service levels are top notch! My group raved about how much they enjoyed their stay. A special shout out to Mona Aldeir who worked with me on our rooming list and the plethora of changes I threw her way leading up to and even during the stay. We will definitely be back and I highly recommend this hotel for both business and pleasure!
Great hotel. Location near Willis Tower, very clean room, comfortable bed and large shower. Staff was very friendly and assisted with a reservation adjustment. Only minor issue is parking is one block from the hotel. Will definitely stay at this hotel again the next time I’m in downtown Chicago.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Canopy! Our room was immaculate and if you have the means, I would absolutely recommend booking the city view suite. Great view and a ton of space! All of the staff were so extremely kind and helpful! We also loved being able to go down to the lobby bar and grab some delicious drinks before the Blackhawks game. The drinks had great presentation with wonderful garnishes. Lastly, we grabbed some breakfast at the hotel before we left. The apple strudel was phenomenal and we loved our breakfast sandwiches. This is now our favorite hotel to stay at in Chicago and we will be returning!
Overall I would recommend this hotel. However that being said, it is a little overpriced and there has been more wear and tear on the rooms than I would like to see in a hotel that’s effectively new. I liked the Art Deco theme and was upgraded to a suite; overall the floor plan was nice, room was warm- and had high ceilings but lacked the grandeur of a higher tier suite. The elite benefits were good .
I would like to give this hotel 5 stars: the bed was comfy, the decor was beautiful, food was delicious, location was excellent! However, my husband and I stayed in room 1409. It was after midnight when we noticed the bathroom light switching on and off. I called the front desk and the lady said that it was on a motion sensor, maybe it was a curling iron, etc plugged in and activating it. I told her that nothing was plugged in, turned on, nor was there any motion in the bathroom. She said that their electrical engineer doesn’t come until 7am, and she offered us a different room. Being that it was so late and we were dead tired from traveling, we elected to stay in the room, even though we were a bit freaked out! We switched all the lights off and shut the heavy bathroom door and then went back to bed. Soon after, we heard the light switching itself on and off again!! As I said, we were tired and chose to ignore it and fell asleep. A few hours later, I awoke and had to use the bathroom. As soon as I rose from the bed, the lamp right next to my husband switched on. I thought, “Hmm. Motion-sensored? Cool, ‘cuz I have to potty!” I did my business and went back to bed, not before switching off all the lights again. A while later, I was restless and could not fall into a deep sleep. I waved my arm as i repositioned myself in bed. At that exact moment, I heard the bedside lamp flip on again! I turned the switch back off and tried to fall back asleep. I thought having a motion sensor in the bedroom was becoming irksome! Why would they do that? The rest of the night was pretty restless, and I kept hearing the bathroom light switch on and off the entire night. Next morning, we got up and looked at the bedside lamp. It had no motion sensor! And even though I had turned the switch to off, it was flipped “on” again! Same with the bathroom- the switch was flipped to “on”! Thank goodness we were only staying the one night!! Sharing a room with a ghost is totally not my thing! We read a review about the hotel and another guest had claimed it was haunted! I had never experienced anything like that before!!…
My boyfriend and I visited over Thanksgiving to celebrate my birthday. I must say that our experience at this hotel was superb. A special thank you to Neil for his generosity and hospitality and Antonio on the front desk for excellent service with a smile. Rarely do you find all staff be competent and pleasant these days. We can’t wait to return!!
At check-in, Kassie and Jeanette, the front desk staff, immediately left a positive impression on me. I much appreciate Kassie and Jeanette's patience in assisting me with upgrading and changing my room to better suit my requirements. They also gave me a detailed rundown of the hotel and the Hilton Honor perks available here, which made it easier for me to get quite familiar with the whole place over the course of the next few days. Their service confirmed my choice to join the Hilton Honor Family, and being at Canopy feels like coming home. I can only draw the conclusion that Canopy offers better housekeeping than other hotels. I called the front desk at one in the morning to ask for an extra quilt. When I stay at other hotels, they often let me know that there isn't enough staff on hand to cover nighttime shifts and ask me to acquire it from the front desk. However, the time it took your cleaning staff to get it to my room was quite short.…
