My wife and I stayed here for a night out to the Opera. Living in the Chicagoland area we have stayed at several hotels in Chicago and this is the best we have been to. The location was great for shopping the magnificent mile or sightseeing. The price was excellent and even included parking. The room might be in need...

Great to hear we warmed you up during your stay. The indoor connection to the Shops at Northbridge and Michighan Ave are a secret we would rather not keep, and we try to share this with all our guests! In addition to the complimentary coffee we try to mix it up with tea and other hot beverages in the afternoons....

My girlfriends and I stayed for a long weekend. The room was clean, the staff were great, and the location was very convenient. Yummy breakfast. Easy walk down to grand luxe for a very nice meal. The bed were very cozy, plenty of outlets for all your gadgets.

We have stayed in a number of top flight hotels in Chicago through the years. I have to say the following about The Conrad. When you walk into the tastefully decorated lobby everything is emaculate, clean and shines! The staff is second to none! The staff is sincere, thoughtful, attentive and all are very well kept and attractive....and that does...

Thank you for your kind review! We do take cleanliness seriously and I am an admitted neat freak, so we keep our hotel "home" as neat and clean as possible. With so many great hotels to choose from in Chicago we feel compelled to ensure others see us as you did. I look forward to having you back with us...

I took my wife here Friday night to attend a play at the Goodman Theatre. It was our first time staying at the Conrad. As others have stated, the service here is very good. Our room was a good size with a king bed and huge bathroom and shower with seperate hot tub for one person. For me, the key...

This hotel was a great place to stay for a really cold weekend. They had complimentary coffee and tea on the mornings and hot cocoa (with marshmallows) in the afternoons. The hotel connected to an indoor mall which was a nice detour to take to get to N.Michigan Ave for shopping. There are great restaurants within blocks in each direction....

My husband and I stayed here one night as a winter get-away, on the 10th floor. (Lobby is on the 5th floor, which is great for security.) I found a great deal on hotels.com, and we had never stayed here before. I read some great reviews here, and was excited to check it out for myself. I was very impressed....

Booked the Conrad as part of a deal with BA, didn't know what to expect. Took the metro from the airport, changed at Jackson onto the red line and hotel was a 10 min walk from Grand station - easy even with a case, the trickiest thing was working out how to buy a ticket at the airport!! Hotel lobby...

This hotel is connected to a Nordstrom, so my wife liked that she didn't have to put a coat on during the cold Chicago winter to go shopping. Stayed 1 Saturday night, really happy with the price for the room, the $42/per night parking takes a bite, but it's supply and demand (too much demand not enough supply) and we...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Ideally situated in the heart of the Windy City, The Gwen, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Chicago is rooted in the history and heritage of the city's Magnificent Mile, paying homage to the 1930s in both its architecture and ethos. The newest member of Starwood Hotels and Resorts' prestigious group of Luxury Collection Hotels is an artistic icon that exudes timeless style and elegance. Housed within the landmark McGraw-Hill Building, The Gwen features an Art Deco aesthetic amplified by a sculptural façade, famously created by artist Gwen Lux in 1928. The idea of a female artisan making her mark in a predominantly male design city depicts an exciting atmosphere of change. The building has been home to many stories in its illustrious past, and today The Gwen provides the ideal canvas for guests to create their own distinct memories. This 300-room hotel includes 199 King accommodations with separate soaking tubs and showers, 54 Double/Double accommodations, as well as 34 luxurious suites, including some featuring beautiful terraces overlooking Michigan Avenue. The inventory, which averages 380 square feet per guest room, includes rooms that are ADA-accessible. Guests of The Gwen can enjoy the use of plush bathrobes and slippers to make their stay more comfortable, as well as complimentary in-room basic Internet access (wired and wireless), a 42-inch flat screen television with HD stations, a surround sound system, a Keurig brewing system, and an in-room safe. Offering the best of Chicago from right outside its doors, The Gwen is located on the Magnificent Mile, minutes away from premier shopping, world-class dining, and exciting cultural and entertainment hotspots, such as Navy Pier and Millennium Park. Connected to The Shops at North Bridge, The Gwen provides guests with enclosed access to upscale retailers, such as Nordstrom Michigan Avenue, and Stuart Weitzman. ... more   less
