Had an excellent stay in January, staying 2 nights. Fast check in and check out. Had dinner on the 2nd floor in the Italian restaurant - service was good, food was fine. Rooms were spacious, comfortable and I was able to sleep quite peacefully. Used the fitness center - have to say, it's one of the better ones in a hotel - all the equipment you could ever want and plenty of open space. Location was great if you need to be in the Loop - very walkable. Would definitely come back on my next business trip.
I’m surprised by some of the negative reviews here. I just stayed at the hotel for 6 nights visiting from the UK on business. It was a positive experience from first to last. The check in was rapid and friendly. My room (717) was quiet and well appointed with a king size bed and large airy bathroom with a shower and separate bath tub. I had breakfast at Florentine 3 times which was very good. If there is one small criticism it is that the waiters on each occasion were less than friendly and need to provide service with a smile. By contrast, the bartenders were great and mixed a great Manhattan! The hotel is perfectly located for anyone on business in the West Loop business district. I will stay here again gladly.
This was my first time staying at the property and I have to admit I was thoroughly impressed. My room was very comfortable and quiet. I usually don't sleep well in hotels but I slept like a baby in this trip. The Concierge lounge on the 12th floor was great and had a very relaxing atmosphere. I don't know the brand but the tea selections in the lounge was great. I wish I could remember the brand name so I could buy some for my home. Looking forward to my stay there.
Amazing hotel down in the loop. Not too busy as I came here in January but easy to get around. Fantastic staff--all extremely helpful and friendly. Nice rooms; roomy and comfortable. Great shower! Will definitely return.
What a great experience. From the time I checked in , the front desk team as fast and responsive. The lobby has that feel like your stepping back in time, which is very nice. My room was very comfortable with a nice bed and very quiet. Only compliment , is that my bathroom was a little tight with the of bath tub and shower combination
Friendly staff and clean room. As expected from a JW Marriott hotel. Good location for the business district and not a fat walk to the millennial park and other main attractions. Rooms are quiet and comfortable. Bathroom has great lightings.
The hotel is exceptional! We stayed as part of Gatsby’s Roaring 20’s New Year’s Eve party organized by chicagonewyearsparty.com and thought the rooms and staff were great. The party, however, was horrible. I would not recommend attending the party. After paying additional money to have our own table, we had to take elevators to see the band (where there were no seats). The food was gone by the time we made it to the buffet. The acoustics of both the band and DJ were terrible. Having to jump from the 2nd to 4th floors to “enjoy” the VIP experience was a joke. Expect long lines to get drinks and expect to pay an additional hundred dollars after you get your admission for “gratuity.” Sorry that such a nice hotel is associated with such a shoddy event.
Don’t let them put you in an “interior “ room. The windows are blocked out for ‘privacy’. It is extremely creepy and claustrophobic . Otherwise the property is nice enough I was very uncomfortable with the window situation.
We are devoted Marriott members especially after purchasing our timeshare at oceanfront Aruba. We always choose Marriott first. My company had a holiday corporate event in Chicago, and my wife and I decided to stay at the hotel. The hotel was very nice. We decided to stay and eat at the hotel for lunch ($200) and then ordered room service twice later on in the day. It was very comfortable and nice. What upset us was when leaving the hotel, we had to pay $80 to park. We do not usually complain, as we are not frugal. $80 to park especially when staying at the hotel and spending a lot of money there seems unreasonable. We were very disappointed. That has never happened to us at a Marriott.
Very good location. The hotel is nearby skydeck and we walk there to save time and parking fee. Besides the lounge is good. But it's closed during weekends that I don't understand the reason. We use suite coupon to get a corner luxurious suite which is really huge, especially the main bathroom. Overall I recommend the hotel for Bonvoy high level members.
