Stayed here for a family vacation while exploring downtown Chicago. We throughly enjoyed our stay. Beds are comfy, nights are quiet, pool was clean. Breakfast was hot with lots of options. Hotel is walking distance to Shedd aquarium and Field museum as well as Rosevelt train station. We also walked to the Bean from the hotel. Great stay, zero complaints.

Located across from Millennium Park and Lake Michigan on a side street. Within minutes of many restaurants and shops. You can Uber anywhere within minutes.

$60/nite to valet your car so don’t rent a car Uber/Lyft everywhere. The hotel lobby is bright, cheery and has a modern vibe. Front desk is to your left with an open concept. They also have a small convenience store but beware the items are expensive. Candy bar is$3.

Front desk personnel were always friendly and professional. Whatever your needs were they were there to comply.

My room was a corner room facing magnificent Lake Michigan. Sunrise and sunset could be stunning when the weather is clear.

Rooms are again decorated with modern furniture and was comfortable with room to move about. Full size refrigerator, stove and microwave. Shower area was nice with sliding glass doors where you can walk into the shower vs stepping over a tub. Sink area is delegate from the shower. Beautiful LED mirror with another light in to. This gives you more lighting due to the LED mirrors just don’t put out enough light.

King size bed was comfortable. all hotels have gone to mushy pillows that give no support. Corner room had full length windows on 2 sides with black out curtains.

This is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in during my business travels. I live in hotels 3 weeks out of a month. It’s convenient to anything in the downtown area.

Nice room, lots of people were there. Make sure to check all appliances and make front desk aware off all issues. Get an odd number room, ask for specific towels or they’ll give you many towels you may not need. Go grocery shopping if you prefer to cook and avoid Chicago’s high priced downtown food.

My family found it comical how spot on the reviews we read for this hotel prior to and during our stay. The lack of parking was expected due to its location however not having a loading zone of place to drop off bags was an inconvenience. (This may have been amplified by our arrival time right at the earliest available check in time.) The lobby is entirely too small for the current unorganized check in process. It wasn’t really clear why the check in process I completed on the app prior to our arrival wasn’t satisfactory. The only difference between the app process and front desk was the $75 dollar per night incidental deposit. While this isn’t the biggest deal for a 1 or 2 night stay having a large hold on your credit card for a week long stay would be irritating. Apparently this property has found it necessary for the deposits but it’s a bit low brow for a Hilton chain. Again this was mentioned in almost every review we read so we weren’t surprised by the charge but seems like the hotel should have been the ones to alert us of it prior to our arrival. As fas as the room and general property the best word to describe it is adequate, nothing fancy and just like prior reviews our room smelled awful. We are not smokers and although the whole floor we stayed on was labeled smoke free it was very strong and made for some extra laundry when we arrived home. The shared bathroom ventilation was a bit strange you could hear many different conversations and (other room sounds) quite clearly. Our neighbors were very loud which was no fault of the hotel and most of the time when they were in their room the sound was tolerable. That being said any sound produced in the hallway traveled right through the door and paper thin hallway walls. Our trip took place during Covid restrictions so the “breakfast” situation was obviously abnormal. I am sure this will sound ungrateful but I think they should just consider not offering breakfast during this time. Yogurt, frozen bagel, 2%milk and two packaged boiled eggs is prob not what most people are looking for at 7 am. However that is totally one mans opinion. Full disclosure I didn’t not bring up any of these concerns with the hotel staff during our stay. We were in town for a family trip and didn’t spend enough time at the property to need any of these concerns addressed. This hotel is in a great location for visiting the museum and aquarium and as I mentioned before just read a few other reviews they are spot on.

My husband stays at Hilton properties often for work and likes to accumulate points so we decided to stay here. The location worked good for us to be able to walk to several attractions and places to eat but that is all I liked about it. Our room was not ready when we got there at 4:30 (check in is 3). We ended up not getting the corner suite we paid for because it was 5:30 and we were sick of waiting around the lobby with two children. The room was big enough for the four of us but not equipped properly. We only had two towels in the room and not enough silverware for all of us. The remote would not work and it took 3 calls to the front and several new remotes to finally get someone to fix it. The linens were terrible, the sheets on the king bed didn't even fit properly and they were very rough. The breakfast is just a grab & go bag, they even ran out of milk during our stay. It also took forever to get our car when we needed it, 20-25 minutes is crazy.

Imagine being a young single mother who decides to take her 4 year old daughter to Chicago for her birthday! You make a reservation (prepaid), take the train from Michigan and show up at the hotel to start your wonderful weekend. Then you meet the staff at this hotel, who inform you that you must present a credit card so that a $250 security deposit can be held. OK, no problem, but the only credit card you have doesn’t have a security chip. “Sorry, ma’am, but we must have a card with a chip,” says the rude “manager.” OK, no problem, how about if I just pay cash for the deposit? “Sorry, ma’am, we can’t accept cash because of COVID” replies the surly “manager.” What do you do now? I know! I’ll call my dad, who’s a Hilton Honors member with status, and who has booked hundreds of nights with the chain. He’ll know what to do. Dad offers his credit cards over the phone, offers to wire cash to the hotel, asks for some kind of compromise that will get his daughter and granddaughter into their prepaid hotel room, but still gets the same uncooperative answer from the “manager,” Sorry sir, we have to have a card with a chip. In 40 years of business and personal travel, dad has never experienced such rudeness and such unwillingness to help a stranded guest. So....the hotel does not honor the reservation, and the daughter and granddaughter (in tears) have to go down the street to find another hotel that will take them in with no reservation. The story ends well, with a fun weekend, but no thanks to the Homewood Suites and their unprofessional and uncooperative staff. Now dad has canceled his Hilton Honors account, will never stay at another Hilton property, and will not allow his staff to do so either. So easily avoided if one single person could have cared enough to compromise and help! If anyone who reads this review wants to stay at this property, do so at your own peril. You’ve been warned what kind of people you’re going to be dealing with!!!

FarAway314124, I am so sorry to hear that your experience was not what you were hoping. We do want to welcome all guests, but we do have a minimum requirement for guests who are able to stay. Since EMV Technology has existed, all major credit card companies have re-issued cards to be PCI Compliant. If a credit card does not have the current technology, we will not be able to accept it. This is for the safety and security of our guests banking information, as it is security services to protect the card holder. Thank you for sharing your experience and we do apologies we were unable to assist you with your reservation. Best, Taylor Smith Assistant General Manager

Of the many times that I have visited the Homewood suites, South Loop Chicago, I have never been disappointed!.
The staff has been accommodating and gracious. Whenever I have needed anything, including an extension of my room dates, they have always been there without giving me a hassle.
If I needed anything for/in my room, they were there.

The rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable with a full size refrigerator and a two burner cooktop. As someone who enjoys shopping for unique ingredients with which to experiment, I appreciate the fact that I have the opportunity to try new recipes in real time! Breakfast is delicious, and fresh, and yes the coffee satisfies!

Since the hotel is centrally located in the South Loop, it’s very easy to get to anywhere in Chicago. From grocery stores to restaurants to museums and other places of interest, this location can’t be beat whether walking, busing, UberING, or training!

Additionally, its proximity to Lake Michigan makes it a beautiful location as many of the rooms also have views of the Lake.

The Homewood Suites In the South Loop of Chicago is my “go to” destination when booking lodging in Chicago.
You might want to experience it for yourself. Just leave a room with a view for me!

We had a corner suite facing west and south and loved the view. The small kitchen area with plates and dishwasher in the suite was really helpful. The walk to museums was quick and easy. There is pizza, liquor, convenience store all located within a block. There is noodle restaurant and a bubble tea stand right in the same building. Breakfast was free but disappointing. Hot items were the same and they quickly ran out of some items. Get to breakfast early. The pool was small but clean. Hot tub needed cleaning the night I wanted to use it but that was beyond the hotel’s control. I wish the 8th floor patio had been open. Biggest disappointment was that I couldn’t get the front desk on the phone ahead of my trip to ask about parking. Valet is the only option if you’re including parking in your room rate. Hilton reservations told me self-park in their garage was also an option. It’s not.

Took a family trip to Chicago and found this wonderful hotel on Michigan ave. It is well located to all the attractions. The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. With how tough the pandemic has been on everything this hotel has done a wonderful job keeping their rooms clean and everything safe when checking in and out.

Great small family vacation. Would have expected the cleanliness of the room to be better considering the quality of hotel would return yet would expect better housekeeping services. Plus it would help to have kitchen supplies refilled the fallowing day plus garbage removal.

right in front of hotel , at the time we were there it was so busy we had to keep circling 2-3x to find a spot so we can unload and the valet was still busy and seemed forever . Good thing while we stayed there we did not use our car because I would hate to keep waiting for valet to get my car and get it parked close to hotel for valet to get it…

Soldier Field is about a ten minute walk. At times, it is quicker to walk to the stadium than drive, as the traffic leading into events often causes delays.
