theWit is intelligently renewing one of the original "It" locations on the corner of State (the great) Street and Lake. Its history is rich with artists, theatre people, journalists and musicians as it is nestled between the theatre district and the river. Blending the amenities of a resort with the flair of a boutique hotel, theWit has brought a new energy and vitality to the downtown Chicago Loop. Striking design, unparalleled comfort, and remarkable services create a dramatic sensory experience. This is a destination for anyone who gets "It" or at least wants to.

Downtown / The Loop
Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of the most iconic landmarks in the city. A stunning skyline coupled with cultural attractions like the Art Institute of Chicago present a Downtown where work and play peacefully coexist.

Great location if you are exploring the city by CTA lines--super close to a major hub. Great location to downtown theaters, restaurants and shopping. Rooms were nice with good sound dampening, but there was still some residual train noise that might bother a very light

We stayed here last March and fell in love with the location, the well attended to rooms, and the genuinely caring guest-oriented staff! We were so impressed with this hotel that we stayed here again this past Thanksgiving. We have stayed at many downtown Chicago Hilton-brand

My husband and I stayed at the Wit for our anniversary and to go to a concert next door at the Chicago Theatre. The room was lovely and very clean, and the check-in process was smooth. Eric the concierge is amazing! He was so friendly and thoughtful! This was our second year

We stayed here in January. Our room was good but the concierge, Eric Loughlin, was awesome. He always has a smile and greets everyone that comes into the hotel. He gave us recommendations for entertainment, to eat, to shop and sight see. He made dinner reservations for us

We chose this hotel for our trip to Chicago because it looked very modern and centrally located. While the location was very walkable and perfect for what we needed in the city, we were pretty disappointed in the hotel. Though we didn't request it, we were given what seemed to

Dear M2323 Thank you for staying with us, and I apologize that we did not meet your expectations on this visit. We are very sorry that ROOF kept you up at night, and we will make sure to revisit noise levels caused by the DJ. In regards to your room, we are sorry that you were placed in an ADA room. In the future, do not hesitate to call the front desk, so we can move you to another room. We have updated your Hilton Honors profile specific to theWit to never place you in an ADA room and allocate you in a room away from the rooftop. If your travels bring you back to Chicago, I hope you give us another opportunity. Sincerely, The Guest Relations Team

Is the Rooftop open year round?
There is an indoor and outdoor section. Indoor rooftop open year round BUT note that it is frequently closed for private parties and special occasions.

Do you have an airport shuttle service? If not, what are our options?
They do not have a shuttle, but we took the train and I would do it again! It is a great alternative to get from Chicago O’Hare’s airport to downtown Chicago. You can walk right from the airport terminal (you don’t even have to go outside) to the the train station. If you have Apple Pay on your phone-you can even just click on that and pay right as you enter. No need to figure out how to buy a ticket or which one. Just go straight to the turnstiles and hold your phone over the reader. Super easy. It is $5.00 ow. It takes about 40 mins-but that is always the same-even during rush hours (which I hear can then take you up to 90 mins to get in the city then). I would highly recommend this-even with luggage. You can just use the handicapped exits if you have bigger suitcases. No problem!

Do all rooms come with a view of downtown? Thanks
Yes, but depending on the floor and the side you may just get a “basic” view versus more of a “skyline” view if that makes sense. We stayed on the 11th floor but I believe the rooms start on the 4th floor.

Hello Sean, Please apologize in the delay in my reply! For Hilton Honors Gold Members the daily breakfast coverage is $15.50 for up to two guests, as breakfast is served a la carte in our lobby restaurant State and Lake Chicago Tavern. Gold Members do have to choose between either receiving an additional 1000 points for their stay or the breakfast option, so if you decide you are not able to do the breakfast with us we are happy to honor the points options instead. While we do not have preferred rooms, we do our best to offer the complimentary one-tier upgrade for our Diamond and Gold members when we have the availability. If you were booked into one of our Classic King Rooms, the complimentary one-tier upgrade would be to one of our King Spa Rooms, which still has a single king bed but is a guaranteed corner room and comes with one of our soaker tubs! I know this is a bit late but I hope it helps for future stays! Please also feel free to reach out to our concierge team if you have additional questions about the property! Thank you for staying with us and have a great day, Eric Loughlin Guest Relations Manager

First, ask The Wit. They'd know better than me. But, if you went up there around 6 or 7 you could take a look around, maybe buy them an expensive soda. And then leave. It is an amazing party scene, one which I'd hate to impress upon a 9 year old kid.
