theWit is intelligently renewing one of the original "It" locations on the corner of State (the great) Street and Lake. Its history is rich with artists, theatre people, journalists and musicians as it is nestled between the theatre district and the river. Blending the amenities of a resort with the flair of a boutique hotel, theWit has brought a new energy and vitality to the downtown Chicago Loop. Striking design, unparalleled comfort, and remarkable services create a dramatic sensory experience. This is a destination for anyone who gets "It" or at least wants to.

Downtown / The Loop
Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of the most iconic landmarks in the city. A stunning skyline coupled with cultural attractions like the Art Institute of Chicago present a Downtown where work and play peacefully coexist.

The only thing this hotel has going for itself is location. Cannot beat the location, but everything else is simply okay for the price. NO WIFI! Cell service is room is terrible and WiFi has to be purchased. Valet parking is seventy something dollars a night. Walls are bad for

I love this hotel. Great location. It's very new, clean, and great service. I could see the river from my room. As a Hilton Loyalty member I received two bottles of water in my room and a warm cookie at reception every evening.

Our stay was one of the best while visiting Chicago. We have stayed at the Wit 5-6 times over the past couple of years. Everyone is accommodating and the location is perfect. We would highly recommend this small and personal hotel to everyone.

There is an indoor and outdoor section. Indoor rooftop open year round BUT note that it is frequently closed for private parties and special occasions.

They do not have a shuttle, but we took the train and I would do it again! It is a great alternative to get from Chicago O’Hare’s airport to downtown Chicago. You can walk right from the airport terminal (you don’t even have to go outside) to the the train station. If you have Apple Pay on your phone-you can even just click on that and pay right as you enter. No need to figure out how to buy a ticket or which one. Just go straight to the turnstiles and hold your phone over the reader. Super easy. It is $5.00 ow. It takes about 40 mins-but that is always the same-even during rush hours (which I hear can then take you up to 90 mins to get in the city then). I would highly recommend this-even with luggage. You can just use the handicapped exits if you have bigger suitcases. No problem!

Yes, but depending on the floor and the side you may just get a “basic” view versus more of a “skyline” view if that makes sense. We stayed on the 11th floor but I believe the rooms start on the 4th floor.

Hello Sean, Please apologize in the delay in my reply! For Hilton Honors Gold Members the daily breakfast coverage is $15.50 for up to two guests, as breakfast is served a la carte in our lobby restaurant State and Lake Chicago Tavern. Gold Members do have to choose between either receiving an additional 1000 points for their stay or the breakfast option, so if you decide you are not able to do the breakfast with us we are happy to honor the points options instead. While we do not have preferred rooms, we do our best to offer the complimentary one-tier upgrade for our Diamond and Gold members when we have the availability. If you were booked into one of our Classic King Rooms, the complimentary one-tier upgrade would be to one of our King Spa Rooms, which still has a single king bed but is a guaranteed corner room and comes with one of our soaker tubs! I know this is a bit late but I hope it helps for future stays! Please also feel free to reach out to our concierge team if you have additional questions about the property! Thank you for staying with us and have a great day, Eric Loughlin Guest Relations Manager

First, ask The Wit. They'd know better than me. But, if you went up there around 6 or 7 you could take a look around, maybe buy them an expensive soda. And then leave. It is an amazing party scene, one which I'd hate to impress upon a 9 year old kid.
