I had a short one night stay for my last night in Chicago and decided to stay at the Central Loop Hotel. The location is great but if your GPS is not working and you are geographically challenged like me then the walk to the hotel from the parking garage or from the hotel to the parking garage might be fun. The room was small but decent. My issues with the room that I had on the 9th floor was that the shower was not as clean as I would expect for a 4 star hotel. The shower overall seemed clean but most of the grout on the floor was dirty and had not been scrubbed in a while. The other issue with my room was with the tv. I was ready to lie in bed and fall asleep watching tv after a long day but the sound was delayed by about 3 seconds on every channel so I ended up watching something on my phone. The restaurant/bar by the lobby looked like a nice place and so did the gym but I did not get to go to either as I had planned. The staff were friendly and the building felt secure with features such as having to use your key to activate the elevator. They have a filtered water machine near the elevators where you can fill up a plastic water bottle that they provide at the machine and that was one of my favorite parts of my stay. The hotel floor smelled like marijuana but to be fair I smelled marijuana everywhere on my trip which includes right outside of Wrigley Field, in traffic near O'hare, and walking around near Buckingham Fountain.
Give this place a chance if you are traveling solo or with your spouse for a night or two. If management pays attention to the reviews the way it seems and they take action then I believe reviews and ratings from guests will improve and it will be worthy of a 4 star hotel rating.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! I am so sorry to read about the issues with cleanliness and odors that you experienced during you stay, as well as the issues you had with your television. I have shared these comments with our housekeeping and maintenance departments to be addressed right away. I am glad to read though that you were otherwise pleased with our location and amenities. We hope you'll give us another chance if you return to the area!

First the resort fee, now the security deposit. You know, I was looking forward to the stay at this hotel, but it was tainted by the trick pulled by the likes of Vegas hotels with this establishment. The day before I check into the hotel I received an email informing me that $90 extra in the form of a "Security Deposit" ($50 for the first night, and $40 thereafter for each night) was being held just in case that my head would somehow run into the wall, or my leg with kick into the doors in the room. I plan and budget my spending pretty tightly so this money being held threw a monkey wrench into my budget. Oh, after my check-out, I have wait another two weeks to recover my money back into the account.

I must mention the fantastic WIFI speed this hotel provides, and it's free! 35mbps Woohoo!! Also chrome cast from your tablet or phone on to the TV in the room. Great!. I really want to give more stars to this hotel.

Thank you very much for your feedback! Regarding the hold on your credit card: unfortunately that is something over which we at the hotel have very little, if any, control. It is a standard hotel practice to authorize guest's credit cards for potential incidental charges (restaurant, room service, valet parking, etc) that may be incurred throughout the stay, and guests are advised of it online when making their reservations, as well as via signage at the front desk and check-in kiosks. However, once we check you out, we automatically release it. It is then up to the bank to process this, which can sometimes take up to 7-10 business days (weekends and holidays excluded), or if the card is for an international bank, it can take even longer sometimes. I am terribly sorry if this has been an inconvenience to you.

The hotel is near my clients along Wacker Drive with easy transit access from the airport and around The Loop. The room-to-price ratio is great compared to large chains and boutique hotels. The front desk staff was helpful. It's also nice to have the restaurant next door for breakfast, dinner and drinks. I expect to be back.

Don’t ask the front desk for help in the middle of the night! Front desk staff “Billy” will hang up on you if you’re frustrated because your shower doesn’t work at 12:30 at night. Wouldn’t give me anyone to contact above him to make a complaint. He just told me “he is on vacation”. I will never stay here again because the front desk staff over night is extremely rude and unprofessional. I wish I could get a refund

During the COVID pandemic, we expected to have a very clean room with increased cleaning protocols and that was not the case. There was a dust layer on the Keurig as well as the charging station. There was a mystery brown stain on the wall by the bed. I would not recommend this hotel at all. The location was the only saving grace of this trip.

Choosing Central Loop Hotel was a new option as we'd enjoyed the Elephant and Castle for breakfast often.
Central Loop is near Union Station and just a couple blocks from CTA, so transportation was a big plus.
Just take note, you get what you pay for....the rooms are small, very spartan and if you need a fresh towel or bar of soap, just go to a Walgreens which you'll find on most corners!
We asked twice for a bar of soap, never arrived.
No iron or fridge, and just about the most scary elevator in Chicago!
Spend a few bucks and get some maintenance crew in.
Next time, we're back to the Wit....

Billy Burrage the guest service manager was amazing! From the moment my husband and I arrived he was very attentive even when I confirmed the reservation by phone before we got there. He helped us get checked in -in no time and made the whole process smooth and easy. He was very kind and professional and made us feel comfortable and joked with us which made me feel even more comfortable. We will most certainly be back and I will recommend this hotel based on my experience with Billy! Thank you!!

Great location as we used Amtrak. This hotel was within walking distance of so many destinations. The rooms were smallish but very clean, quiet and comfortable. Any time we needed anything for our rooms within minutes of a phone call we had what we needed(pillows, coffee). The serve was top notch as well!! I would def stay here again!!

The room we received was dingy. Not astatically pleasing at all. It had 2 very large Tv's on the wall and that was it. The pull out couch was stained and dirty looking. The bed and the pull out were not comfortable at all. It was like sleeping on the hard floor with bars in your back. When you are there sight seeing and walking around 90% of the time you want a comfortable bed to sleep in and recharge. The bathroom was not a 4 star bathroom. We did not have any housekeeping the entire time we were there. We bagged up all our own garbage and had piles of towels in the small bathroom because they didn't have housekeeping available. The entire hotel smelled like marijuana. I understand it is legal there but I had an 8 year old and a 3 year old traveling with me and the smell was so over whelming. If they are going to allow smoking in the hotel then they should have air filter or air purifiers in the hotel so your non smoking guests can enjoy themselves too.

Thank you very much for your feedback! I am so sorry to read that you were dissatisfied with your stay. First, I want to assure you that we are indeed a non-smoking hotel and we do not tolerate smoking in the building; however, we must first be made aware of it so that we can respond quickly to it. Also, due to the current global situation, we are still taking extra precautions to keep our guests and our staff safe, which is why housekeeping does not enter any occupied rooms at this time. We look forward to the time when this will no longer be the case. Please know that all of these issues have been shared with the appropriate departments so that we can address them and ensure they do not happen again. We hope you'll give us another chance if you return to the area.

I had no idea where to stay when in Chicago for business. I selected the Central Loop Hotel as they were close to the train station and offered a fair price. The check in process was amazing and I was impressed how your hotel room key card is printed out and it is all blank. You then get a separate print out with your room number so the privacy is great. Next trip to Chicago this is my hotel.
