Just what I needed. Simple accommodations with easy access to food and train for one nights stay. Having traveled the world extensively I found myself needing an over night room for one in downtown Chicago. This worked perfect and was reasonable.

Very modern welcoming hostel. Breakfast was quite a spread! Not very central to tourism things but Chicago is very flat so easy to walk around. They offer pub nights and events for people to get together and mingle although as I wasn't 21 I wasn't able to join in.

Thanks for your feedback. We are within walking distance to a lot of things in the neighborhood and also to public transportation that will get you in any direction you wished to go. Sorry you couldn't join the tours, perhaps next time?!

I have always enjoyed the energy of a Hostel and this place did not disappoint! We found the staff so pleasant and helpful. Our group of 16 students fit comfortably in their three rooms. The common spaces were big and useful (and fun!). As good as the overall space was, the location is amazing. It is within easy walking distance...

Spent two nights here in the 10-bed room. The staff made it a great place to stay. Great Wifi, clean room and bathroom. Vending machines in the building. Like the public places on the second floor with billiards. However at night i needed to put my coat over the blanket to keep me warm "enough". Others did not have such...

Thanks for the feedback. Sorry you felt cold at night. It is difficult to comfortably set the temperature to satisfy everyone in a room therefore we rely on the guests to compromise.

I booked a double at HI Chicago, expecting to get a tiny room that could barely squeeze my friend and I into. Quite surprisingly, we ended up getting a relatively spacious one with bunked beds (one queen size and one twin size) in a suite of two rooms. The suite came wth a kitchen, a bathroom and public space with...

Hi; Thank you for your feedback. It would appear we have exceeded your expectation with the rooms. HI-Chicago is not your typical hostel and it is our goal to surprise each of our guests on a daily basis. Thanks for the recommendation and looking forward to hosting you again.

HI Chicago has been a great place to stay. My son stayed here a few times for more than a week each time. It was perfect for him and he/we found the staff to be helpful and accommodating. Keep up the great work!!

I stayed in this hostel on my last trip to Chicago in July, the hostel is perfectly located in downtown Chicago, 1-2 blocks away from subway and bus stops and offers a great service (breakfast, integration activities, free walking tours, etc.).

I was accompanying my sister to visit a college in Chicago and since we were on a budget we decided to stay in this hostel. It was our first hostelling experience which led me to use the HI hostels in Niagara, Seattle and San Fran in the following years. Hands down the best company to run hostels. In this location...
